Wairau is the type of place you visit to get things done; It's not a browsers destination, it is more a place where business is done. The young gentleman that cuts my hair is very good at what he does; he manages to cut my hair using mostly the clippers, and still manages to get a style going. The whole team is very friendly and you get to leave with a sucker or sweetie. This is how I like my hairdressers, cheap, friendly and very good.

This is not my normal waxing place so it was my first time, therefore I went to the wrong lesmills and had to go to the right one, in which case I called Ruby and asked her if 15 minutes later was okay, while apologising immensely. She said thats fine but its the latest she can do. I understood and apologised. Arriving at her office at a few minutes before quarter past, I asked where the toilet was because we all know its not comfortable to get waxed while needing to pee. This woman had the AUDACITY to roll her eyes and sigh dramatically and then tell me its to the right and downstairs. I asked her if it was a problem? The fact that I need to go to the toilet? She said "it's just that you've been pushing the time back a lot" or something along those lines, as though I had forced this woman to see me. She could have said she is unavailable, but since she had agreed to do my wax, she had no right at all to be snotty or rude. I can assure you that this is because I am in my 20s, whereas if an older adult had arrived, this woman would have a bit more respect. This shows how ill mannered she really is and it made me so uncomfortable to begin with. She began waxing me super fast and rushed, I could tell she was rushing so much, and on NUMEROUS OCCASION I had to show her that there were hairs left and what places there were left to wax. She had no idea what Brazilian meant obviously - I wanted it all off and I made it clear. She did not even bother completing the top and if it was not my genital area I would obviously be able to share a photo and prove it. She was fast and rough and didn't ensure the wax was at a comfortable temperature at all. Everywhere else that I've been waxed, it is done slowly and I am comfortable and the wax is either blown on or turned down to regulate a comfortable heat. This woman obviously just did not care about whether I was comfortable or not because she seemed so irritated that I was even there. She kept forcing me to put my leg in a position that was so uncomfortable for me. This unbelievable woman also used SO MUCH powder (she said it was cornstarch). Usually they use it once at the start and that is it, but when I sat up it all dropped down below me as if I could make a little sand castle out of it. She literally has no idea how to be gentle with a woman's genitals, or at least had NO INTEREST AT ALL in being gentle with mine. Throughout the entire wax I was debating not to pay her because the experience was so awful, I honestly felt like she was going to ruin something down there. She was pushing down on all the wrong parts and the wax was seeping into the wrong parts, if you get what I mean. I am so disappointed with the end result, and having to go home and pluck it myself because she was too incredibly lazy and careless to complete her job. The wax only took 15 minutes as she was rushing so much, so at least the next customer was on time, yet I was left poorly treated. I can assure 100% that I was polite, and was simply guiding her towards the end to finish her job. I paid 55$ for this horrible experience, when I honestly was very close to paying nothing and storming off. For my large network of people I work with and friends, and anyone with whom the subject comes up, I will forever let them know that ruby waxx is the WORST place to go for a brazilian wax. I cannot speak about other treatments, as I haven't had any other treatment (not that I would ever want to encounter this impolite woman again), but for waxing, it is definitely the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had, after being to an average of 18-20 different beauty clinics. I was responded to on facebook for my review, and told by Mark Francis (grown man and I assume the owner of the company) that I should be avoided by other clinics like the plague. My esthetician, Brooke, was widely knowledgeable - down to a cellular level (literally) about skin, treatments, products and maintenance. I have been getting facials about monthly for the past 1-2 years at various locations and have never had anything close to this happen. I emailed to tell them that I had had this result and was disappointed, and have not heard back. I would never recommend such an expensive place with such poor results and no concern for their outcomes.
