Due to the Christmas season and everyone being off from school and work, it was extremely busy. We were able to snag a table though so that was a plus as everyone was out and about in Verona. The pizza, tiramisu, panna cotta, soup, gnocchi, coffee were all top notch. I don't recommend the beef tartare though, it was stateless and I couldn't finish it, although I generally love raw meat. And also, on that morning, I had been craving a pistachio cornetto. It seemed they weren't not as popular in Verona as they are in Florence, so after a ton of Googling and searching through TripAdvisor and Yelp, I led my husband here. Of course, by the time we arrived, they had sold out of the pistachio cornetto. I was disappointed, but didn't want to waste an opportunity to try something of theirs, so we opted for a sit-down service and ordered a couple of coffees. I got the Viennese coffee and my husband got a regular caffe. I was going to order a pastry but figured there'd be enough sweet and sugar in my coffee that I didn't need to add a baked good on top of it. The Viennese coffee was good - I liked the hot/cold combo from the coffee and the whipped cream. It wasn't the best whipped cream I've ever had - once I got towards the bottom of the cup it had more congealed than melted into the hot liquid, but what I had before I got to that point was decent. My husband said his coffee was also good, but nothing special (this after we'd just come from what we thought was the best coffee shop in Verona, so I can't really blame him in his assessment.)

My affogato was lovely, with a French vanilla ice cream offsetting the delicious bitter espresso served with a distinctive shovel shaped spoon, it was so smooth and refreshing. My partner's lemon/mint gelato was small, but packed an explosive, tart amount of flavor in each small bite. We enjoyed our treat in patio seating outside the cafe. It was warm, but pleasant- shielded from the sun by umbrellas and from the street, screens by tall planters. We were greeted and served promptly by a team of two servers. While wandering around Verona during a pitstop on our way to Bologna, my husband and I came across this place. I noticed they had a crepe machine in the front, so decided to give it a whirl, and I'm so glad I did. They make their version of nutella in-house, and it's some of the best I've ever had--so much that I had to buy some to take home with us. The crepe was made-to-order, and it was delivered to me piping hot and bursting from the seams with nutella. My husband ordered an ice cream sandwich that was dipped in nutella on one side and covered in nuts. They also served gelato among so many other tasty treats, think: a variety of chocolates. Again, this is a must-try when in Verona!! Also, a great place to pick up some souvenirs to take home.
