Much more of a bodega or convenience store feel than regular Carrefour stores. This is located at a…read morecorner of Plaza de San Juan de Dios, and is a great location to grab a snack to go. They also carry food staples and other grocery essentials, but its main purpose seems to be for convenience and quick bites. Unlike bodegas and convenience stores in the US, they do not provide plastic utensils or napkins, etc., though they have 12packs to buy, if you feel like carrying, or disposing of the other 11 forks. If you're looking for a cheap quick meal or snack, Carrefour Express is a short walk to the coastline, either along Av. del Puerto, or Av. Campo del Sur, where there are beautiful views and places to sit. There are also places to sit and people watch in the square, Plaza de San Juan de Dios, or its adjacent Paseo de Canalejas park. Carrefour Express is an easy way to avoid the time commitment of a slow meal pace in a cafe.

This is not a very big Carrefour, and departments were limited; some were edited out, some just really small. Staff was professional and friendly. The ones that do are just so-so. They offer a lot of breakfast options as well as coffee frappes, smoothies and milkshakes. We sampled the american breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, grilled tomatoes, grilled cheese bread, one pancake and sausage) and the everything croissant (eggs, mushrooms, cheese, chorizo). Both were so delicious and big portions as well! My strawberry smoothie was refreshing and i was surprised at how big the small portion was. The littles split a nutella crepe and it looked good as well, I didn't get a chance to try it since i was busy with my breakfast. Super friendly staff and Very cute inside. Has about 6-7 tables inside and they also provide outdoor seating. It was my first time here so from what i could tell, it was mostly street parking. They take credit card &cash.

They used to have a place decades ago downtown next to the public mercado downtown but moved here. Muscle Man Dani who waits and serves the outdoor tables is fast. Antonio is usually behind the bar. Be here by 11:30 if you want any - if they run out of dough they'll not offer any churros. Usually packed between 10am and 1pm. They are open the same hours Sunday when Antonio's Dad works the tables and shouts out the orders in a slightly "loud" voice. He's unique and a Rota icon.
