Yes there are groceries and produces here, but there's also clothes, electronics, household items, books, etc. It's a big store and I've always been able to find what I'm looking for here. Prices at Tesco are pretty decent from what I've seen. Not quite as low as a Lidl or Aldi, but not as high as a Dunnes or Marks & Spencer. Since Lidl and Aldi has a lower selection it's nice to come to Tesco and do one stop shopping here. The Tesco is located on the upper floor of the shopping centre, but they have inclined flat escalators for shopping carts. There's a bathroom outside the Tesco on the upper floor that is clean and well maintained. Bus stops are located right outside, but for those with a car there is a car park here as well. I really like this Tesco and look forward to coming back here again.

But given the caloric contents of a paczek and the fact I ate 4 of them ( I know I know shocking !) it might have a literal meaning ;) Anyway, I stopped here this morning simply because I wanted doughnuts. I ended up buying 4 doughnuts for myself and 20 more for my co-workers . I have to say Lidl doughnuts are wonderful and inexpensive AND huge! It's very hard to criticise a place that's great value with mostly quality food. That said I only…read morebuy a few items here - for fresh I go for fillet steak, pork fillet, chicken breast and pork mince (5% fat). So all meat is from Irish farms and I believe the quality of Irish meat is always excellent. The fillet steak is 32 day dry aged. Most steak in the USA is wet aged which is cheaper and produces an inferior product. For frozen it's their Greenland cold water prawns. They are again wonderful quality and taste. The last day I was there they were selling snow peas at 49 cents a bag and 500gm of red grapes at €1.29. Wonderful value for great produce and they often have real deals on fresh veg. So I bought a half dozen of each. The new normal is that you may have to stand outside a while as numbers are now limited. This is ok in an Irish summer (which this year is lousy). They provide hand sanitizer on entry. The only other downside is that they don't have many check out staff so again you can queue there a while too but it's the rub of the green here as the prices are so competitive.

We hit the Spar to have stuff in our hotel room, for when we get hungry between meals. And the Spar did just that! They also sell random things that you might run out of on your trip. This location is nestled on the corner of a busy, crowded street. No self-checkout. You have to pay at the register. The customer service was a bit lackluster.

There are constantly long queues at the checkout. Usually only one register is open with a huge line of people waiting. Sometimes there are two, but only when it's extremely busy. The staff often seem gloomy and unwelcoming, and the whole place looks messy and unpleasant. In general, Lidl seems to be getting worse and worse. Other supermarkets now have self-checkouts that also allow you to pay with cash, which makes life much easier. Here, you often can't do that, which is frustrating--especially when you want to send your child to buy something and give them cash. Honestly, I can't stand this store anymore--neither this one in Bray nor any other Lidl. The only reason I still end up here sometimes is because Aldi doesn't have the same bakery selection. If they did, my foot would never step inside any Lidl again.
