I got my weights and the stand got it home put the stand together and the weights overlap the stand by 2 inches so they sold me the wrong stand I emailed them to Let them know they said I could exchange it for the proper stand, but I had to pay full price. Long story short after I complained about all the trips I had to make in they exchanged it. Fast-forward eight months later I go in there to finish equipping my home gym. I walked around there for at least 10 minutes I was the only one in the store and the guy didn't acknowledge me or anything so long story short again I left and went and spent $5000 at fitness depot Atlantic, who were great and offered good customer service and I will be dealing with them from here on out and you should too!

That being said, I have my location preferences. I usually go to the larger store at the Halifax Shopping Center but this one is pretty good on a much smaller scale. It's easier to find something in particular but the selection being offered might be less than at the bigger store. Every time I've gone in there, I left with a purchase. That's saying something people. Everything from swim goggles to kettlebells to running gels... Customer service has always been really good. Never felt like I'm putting someone out when I ask for help. Some days I don't want to feel like I'm swimming in a sea of fitness equipment and wandering the larger store in Halifax. Some days I just want to get in and get out so I can get moving and the smaller location has always come through for me.

Sport Chek has a lot to offer. Over the last year I've had the opportunity to shop at the Dartmouth Crossing location a few times. Including on the intimidating hunt for a more athletic swim suit and a sports bra (GASP!) and you know what? They didn't let me down. The service was outstanding, I got help the minute I walked in the door to point me in the right direction for the swimming gear, someone was available to let me into the dressing room without hovering too much and I found what I needed and got checked out with a smile. The Dartmouth Crossing location isn't as large as the Halifax Shopping Centre, but they do have what you need and lots to explore. I even got a 20lb kettlebell here last fall to add to our at home gym goodness. If you need new workout gear, equipment, running shoes, something to keep you moving, chances are SportChek has it and you go home happy.

Than at the end I am told to return to my family doctor. If you go there for a medical assessment don't tell them you have a family doctor. I was told on the phone that they would fill out my short term medical work absent form but after the assessment I was told to return to my now previous family doctor. I would get better service at a walk in clinic than at my previous family doctors office. Nova Scotia needs private family doctor health care options. I was willing to pay for follow up services at one to one. I guess one to one is not in business for the money maybe they should be under the public system. I paid $160.00 For a service I didn't get which was a filled out work medical form I was told upfront on the phone they could complete that was false. WoW - 121!!! I have…read morebeen going to 121 since the Spring. With the promise of health and fitness in 15 minutes a week, how could a long time marathoner like me not be skeptical - I mean interested. The program is based on some sound science research and seems to enjoy sticking it to the classic anecdotal approaches to fitness - especially the existing dogma of cardio. Whether you ever drag your butt into 121, you should read the book: http://www.bodybyscience.net/home.html/?page_id=18. (FYI - the illustrator for the book is a good friend who lives a couple of doors down in Dartmouth) So, back to 121, the facilities are clean, modern and efficient. The mix of fitness sessions, physio and massage makes it feel more like a doctors office than a fitness centre. The program is based on one person, one trainer alone in the training room for 4-5 exercises for 15 minutes a week - now this is personalized! Having a trainer focus on every second of your training is a proven training technique for success - and the 121 trainers are excellent. They coach, cajole, cheer, encourage and do whatever is necessary to ensure that your muscles are max out - each time, every time, every second of the workout. Until you experience the exhaustion of 2 minutes of controlled max out effort, it is hard to appreciate this approach. But it works and 121 do it best! They use some administrative touches like variable automatic payment plans and e-mail reminders of appointments. Overall 121 has given me a crazy, almost unbelievable, experience that now has my muscles in the best shape in decades. Their professionalism, facilities and instructors helped me get through my skepticism - great thanks!
