Date night in London. Amazing class and amazing menu. The food was outstanding. Learned something new and tried Eton Mess. If you don't know what it is google it and then sign up for the class.

Note: This review is for the culinary classes at Sur La Table, not the store itself! I recently tried out one of Sur La Table's cooking classes. It was a lot of fun and went far beyond my normal culinary scope. It was nice having someone show me what to do and offer tips to correct some of my bad kitchen habits. The chef, Susie McCall, was very knowledgeable and helpful. My only complaint was that the class was divided into two stations, so we only had opportunity to learn how to make half of the menu. We did the Bon Appetit: Classic Bistro Dinner. The menu consisted of: Coquilles St. Jacques with Fresh Sorrel, Braised Chicken Legs with Mushrooms and Riesling, Potato and Celery Root Puree, Classic French Salad with Mustard Vinaigrette, Crepes Suzette It should go without saying that the food was incredibly delicious, but really, it was!! Who woulda thought I'd have a thing for celery root? The communication we'd received prior to the class was a little unclear though. It stated we would be "tasting" each dish, when really we were totally pigging out! There were 18 in our class and we made enough food for 25, easily. Everyone is given an apron to wear (and then supposedly return at the end, oops!). They also gave all the students discount cards to use in the store. Unfortunately, the cards were only good for 15% off on the same day as the class (which ended 5 minutes before the store closed), or 10% if used within 7 days. At $69/person, it was a little more than I had hoped to spend as this class was bought as a gift, but it was a fun & memorable experience for the whole fam so I really can't complain. The kitchen setup there is perfect for a class this size, complete with TV monitors so you can see what's happening on top of the stove from the other side of the room. I'd love to come back for one of the knife handling classes sometime.

I cannot say enough good things about the experience here. We attended the Mothers Day afternoon tea class and it was so special. We got to meet several other mother/daughter pairs and had lots of laughs. Our menu was a feast. We made tea sandwiches, scones, mini quiches and sausage rolls. Everything came out beautiful and tasty. Kudos to our terrific instructor Shawnie, who was so organized. The tea service itself was very well thought out. We had music, hot teas, fresh flowers, mimosas and locally made macarons. A wonderful day of memories made with Mom.

The kitchen was spotless, well-organized, and a perfect setup for hands-on learning. The student helper was exceptional--so friendly, knowledgeable, and really made the experience enjoyable. I highly recommend The Mix for anyone looking for a fun, engaging cooking class in a fantastic environment! I like this location much better than their old location and the space works better for them than it did for Williams Sonoma. The staff is friendly and offered to help me determine which set of knives I may want to upgrade. I decided to just sharpen my old Wustoff set and maybe get some new pans another day. It always pays to invest in quality cookware. If you take care of it they often last a lifetime. If you look at it that way the items in this store cease to be expensive and become a great value. While there I noticed Sur La Table had knocked out some of William Sonomas walls which elongated the store and also allowed for a much bigger cooking class area. The store was beautiful. Nice job relocating. The store is gorgeous and fun to shop at. .

Some people spend money on concerts, some on sports games... I love taking cooking classes…read more Specifically, classes at The Recipe. I've taken classes in competing kitchens and the experience here is far superior. Chef Mike has a great model. Diners prep ingredients and then come together to put dishes together while learning tips and techniques. The sheer number of dishes prepared each time is stunning-- between 4 and 6 different recipes each time. I always come away with at least one thing I want to try making at home. And there are plenty of dishes that have made it into our regular repertoire. Some favorites: German pork tenderloin and spaetzel, Cajun blackened fish, Irish bangers and mash, Jamaican jerk chicken and coconut beans and rice to name a few. And some classes are more aspirational. I'll leave it to the experts to make ravioli and ramen, two dishes I have more respect for. I'm better with a knife, I know the basics of building different soups and sauces, I've upped my game on holiday cooking. And mostly, I just enjoy cooking so much more and have developed confidence. Not a cook? No problem. This is a very relaxed setting. You can do as much or as little as you like. You can sip wine and stir a pot of sauce or you can get your hands dirty and knead dough or shell shrimp. Tonight we made bibimbap and banchon. It was delicious. And easy. It will be finding it's way into our Rotation. Thanks Mike for making cooking fun and accessible for all.

Intrigued (I'm infatuated with places that offer quaint happy hour deals), I quickly bookmarked Quinci, and had been wanting to try their offerings ever since. I follow QE on Insta, and I was completely engulfed in a picture they posted of their current Spring Quiche ANNNNNND the Sicilian Lemon pie. I started salivating immediately, and knew I had the try it. Also, with it being Easter weekend, what better items to show up with at the family table. Yeah, go ahead, I scored on this find. Deborah looks to run the front of house, as she's the lady I kept contact with via the phone to place and pick up my order. She was so polite. She was running the show when I arrived to pick up my goodies and was very thankful for my business. So, Gwen, did you like the quiche and pie? Uhmmmm, let me think ab- YES!!! So fluffing good, both. The quiche was not hot, and Deborah gave verbal recommendations for how to serve it if we wanted it warm; we warmed it in the oven, dear me, it was SO GOOD! I forget the exact components of this pastry, but it had plenty of eeg, spring veggies, it was incredibly decadent! I highly recommend you pay attention to their Insta page for any and all seasonal offerings, then buy one for yourself, and one for me. Thank me later. The Sicilian Lemon pie was enveloped with a flaky, but solid pastry crust - a great dessert to end the meal. Fresh lemon and zest - I can totally tell the difference between the two, and this sweet sensation was for sure the real deal! Fair warning, this was quite rich, and one piece was plenty. Sharing it with the fam and friends was the perfect solution. I was told - a year or so back, they have a Friday happy hour special for $10 that involved a charcuterie board and wine, so damn straight I need to go back to QE and check this out!
