They are an incredible organization that hosts adaptive sporting events for those with disabilities. Pier 62 Skate Park is pretty spectacular, featuring several massive skate bowls and a multitude ramps of while providing awesome views of the hudson. Even if you don't skate or have the opportunity to volunteer at a similar event, this park is perfect for people watching and just taking in the action. It was my first time here but definitely won't be my last!

I'm definitely going back to try to get more photos. Skateboarding action photos are fun. It's fun to watch. Can you believe when I was in middle school and high school I had a skateboard. My first one was handmade out of wood using roller skate wheels. Am I Old or what!? I recommend you bring your skateboard and go to Pier 62 to have fun.

Unfortunately the current management is lax and doesn't supervise the park. So unless a parent steps up to direct kids, a lot of children get into accidents. The owner has an anger problem. He loves to start arguments and pick fights with people. He seems to enjoy belittling people and bragging about how much money he spends. Because he is often smoking pot in his trailer, he sometimes yells at people using his trailer's PA system. As of writing, the photos shown on this yelp page are inaccurate. The track was modified 3 years ago, and is about 2/3 the size of what the first few photos show. There is no longer any artwork on the track.

Signs everywhere saying you need to pay and have a helmet. I have come here dozens of times and shocked by people's behavior and then reactions when they get screamed at. People try to sue these types of places weekly and you wonder why they flop out when you walk right by a large sign...! The dirt park is pretty intense and it's rad to watch the guys shred. The paved pump tracks are awesome for all levels of biker and skater. I got to watch some 3-6 year old shred. Personally can spend a couple hours there easily and if it's slow all day as lines are endless. Sign a waiver and pay 5$ .... a coffee is more. I couldn't believe it was so cheap. They have board and bike rentals again 5$ per hr.

There are also stores close by for cold drinks and a plethora of Chinese restaurants as the location is in Chinatown. The Freedom Tower is very close by as well. Highly recommend.

It starts getting crowded around 4-7 pm in the spring and summer. There's lots of bikers and skateboards and a few scooters. It can get rowdy and accidents do happen so so wear a helmet and pads! The park can be divided into two sections- One side is spacious with 45 degree ramps, concave ramps, and such. The other side is steeper - a half pipe sort of thing. Micro mini is great for learning all the tricks you can conceive but it doesn't translate to the bigger ramp at all, that thing is verty and scary compared to the shallow side of the pool in Chelsea. The locals I ran into are really cool and really good.
