It's run by a couple and was formerly a family home but has been converted by the husband, who was previously a builder, to a really high standard. There are lots of lovely touches throughout the nursery, including a wooden play shop built into one of the rooms. He's now the chef and prepares all the children's meals fresh each day and the food always smells great. My son eats 2 portions most days! There are two rooms. One for the tiny kids - up to about 2 years of age, and another for those of preschool age. Our son has just moved to the 'bigger kids' side and they have managed the progression really well. He is really happy there and has come along leaps and bounds in terms of his confidence and speech since he started attending. Outside there is a lovely garden for the kids to play in, and it also has a covered area so they can still get fresh air when the weather is bad. There is a little vegetable garden that the kids help out on. The staff are brilliant and really make each day special for the kids. They do activities related to what is happening in the 'real world', so things such as Easter, Diwali, Mothers Day, etc, are all observed and catered for. We couldn't be happier with the place and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it with 5 stars.

Staff are wonderful - only reason I gave it 4 stars is staff turnover is quite high, although most members of staff leave to take up new posts in the children's centre network. Has its own cook, so food is prepared daily. Lovely garden designed by local parents and children. Wide variety of educational toys. On the whole it is very clean, is deep cleaned on a regular basis. I recommend it to all my friends looking for nursery places for their children.

I used to attend the centre to take my greyhound Tom to dog training classes, the less said about that experience the better. What impressed me was the amount of activities which appeared to be taking place here with the notice board indicating all manner of communal activities scheduled to take place. Whilst the decor itself could do with updating the purpose of the centre is an inherently good one and it is a lead which more local communities should follow.

It's a really safe place for young children with a large soft play area with soft slides and climbing frames. There's also a small separate bit at the end of the main soft play where younger, smaller or less confident children can play on a smaller scale soft play area. They have some outdoor activity but that is only open during good weather. It's is just over £2 for an hour and a half and is open day times until 4pm. The price is per child. Refreshments are available at a reasonable price although there is only a fairly small selection. They serve hot drinks, cold drinks and cold snacks. You have to give the name of each child as you go in and out. There is only one way out so you know your kids are safe because you can see them. I had never heard of the community centre before, but I was keen to try out their facilities. The yoga classes went very well; I found yoga to be a very relaxing method of meditation and exercise. The facilities at the community centre were very good; the rooms were spacious and the floor was clean. I couldn't find any showering facilities, but that was not a problem because I live close by and could shower at home. However it seems to host a lot of events, I have been to a few there and I suppose they turn this otherwise boring centre into a valuable resource for the local community - that is essentially what it does, it's not supposed to appear pretty. It is a purely functional building that gives a space to members of the local community who need a space for an event, whatever that event may be.

However, this is a review for their meeting rooms. There are a range of meeting rooms available for hire. I use the therapy rooms which are inviting and neutrally decorated. The rooms are in a quiet location at the rear of the building whilst being well heated so your clients will be comfortably warm. The toilets are also clean, well maintained and conveniently positioned within the building. Booking is easy and takes a quick telephone call. There is an inviting reception area with seating and welcoming staff to greet your clients.

Envision are a charity whose mission is to dispel the myths about the youth. Or at least that's how…read moreI first got to know about their great work through an event 'Truth about You.' This day exists for young people to go out into the public and convince them that the youth of today have got something positive to offer society. Young people are collated via local schools and then split into teams. Along with an adult they go out and undertake various exercises from interviewing the public about their perception of the youth to having a photo taken with a police officer or interviewing a councillor. Each exercise gains the team points and the winning team at the end of the day is given a prize. In the case when I was involved, this was free mentoring from a young, successful entrepreneur. There are all sorts of other projects throughout the year and Envision work closely with school to support young people. Volunteer if you can.
