I initially came in to purchase a 9-foot board I had my eye on. After deciding to buy it, I stepped out briefly to grab my son so he could help me load it into my truck. When I returned, the board was gone--needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I spoke with a salesperson named Dave, who explained that the board actually wasn't supposed to be on the sales floor--it had been custom-made for the shop and was pulled by the general manager and placed in an office. Even so, Dave didn't stop there. He took the time to listen to my situation and understand how much this meant to me, especially as it was intended to be my Father's Day gift. Dave went out of his way to help and connected me with the manager, Chip. Chip took things to the next level--he made calls to the general manager and even reached out to corporate to see if anything could be done. After about 45 minutes of effort, he came back with incredible news: they got approval to sell me the board. Neither Dave nor Chip had to go to those lengths, but they did--and that level of customer care is rare. They could have easily said no and moved on, but instead they went out of their way to make my day. As a local, I'll be out riding waves on this board and proudly telling this story. Ron Jon didn't just sell me a surfboard--they delivered an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Dave, Chip, and the corporate team for making my Father's Day!

If you can walk out without buying a shirt, keychain or sticker, I would either be impressed, or think something was wrong with you. Free parking (time limit) in the back of the shop. Long arse lines at all the registers, but that's a testament to how popular this place is. My husband who is an (ex-)surfer, totally loved this shop. He said visiting this store was one of the highlights of the trip.

Right when we were about to pull out she flags up down and tells us it didn't go through. No big deal! My mom checks her bank account and it did go through. The cashier gets the manager, a lady with an either Russian or Ukrainian accent, and we show her the transaction went through on our side. She then snaps at us and says, "whatever just take it for free." And storms off. My mom and I are just standing there in shock, and I had a new item with me that I was going to purchase. After a minute of standing there she calls out, "you're good to go." And I explain I had an item. She comes out, tells me the price, looks at my mom and says, "and not the $18.16, but I'm not discussing that with you." Obviously we no longer want to be here due to her being hostile and not knowing how to conduct herself in the slightest. I turn and say, "you know what? Never mind." Sid is a dishonest businessmen man that will do everything he can to bleed you dry. He is a liar…read moreand a thief, and his word means nothing. I recently rented a tux from Sid, and the experience was terrible. I called in from out of state (he seemed to hold some sort of grudge against my home state of California from the beginning) and was told that the sizes given were incorrect, and were the sizes of a "7 foot tall man". I went to a second tailor for measurements, who confirmed the sizes from the first, and told Sid to proceed. What else could I do? When I arrived, I got a jacket that fit fine, but pants that went up mid-thigh. Despite the sizes I gave being too big, according to Sid originally. Of course, Sid charged me to correct the mistake, the whole time grumbling about how dumb Californian tailors must be, never accepting any responsibility. When I came back to get the altered tux, I asked about the shoes I reserved, which were not with the suit. I have a clear memory of renting shoes, and specifically did not pack dress shoes due to this. When at the store, though, Sid tells me that he doesn't rent shoes at all. He did a little show of looking around for a pair of shoes to rent, but then says he's never rented shoes, ever. He instead sells me an overpriced pair that I'm stuck with, and I've got no choice but pay this con man, because I have a wedding I need to get to. Later, I talk with the father of the bride, and learn that he rented the shoes he was wearing as we spoke... from Sid. Add in the fact that the tuxedo everyone ordered for the wedding was supposed to include black ties, but for some reason every tux we got ended up with pink ties and pocket squares. Sid did provide new ties for everyone for the mixup, but that added yet another unnecessary hassle to the wedding. So, if you want to deal with a rude liar that will do everything possible to rip you off and never admits his own fault, Sid's is the store for you. If you want to deal with an honest businessman that's true to his word and is in any way reliable, I'd recommend going anywhere else. I spoke clearly and directly with Sid, but remained pleasant throughout. I gave him multiple chances to do the right thing, but he never once did. Sid is a thoroughly unpleasant human, and a charlatan who will do you wrong. I give Sid's Mens [SIC] Fashions my lowest recommendation, and would suggest avoiding at all costs.
