What a disappointing experience. Waited 90 minutes for food. We were a party of 12 but many came and went while we sat there. Couldn't get timely appetizers, pasta served cold, pan seared salmon looked boiled. Friends and I went to Surfside Charlie's this past week. It was very busy and now I know why. The food was delicious and you certainly can't beat the price. I had the breaded pork, mashed potatoes, corn and a side salad; all for $12.50. can't get that in CT, which is where I'm from. The atmosphere was warm and festive. I highly recommend stopping by, especially on a Tuesday, and be sure to tip the staff as they are very friendly and accomodating. read more

First time here. We are from out of town so we like to try different places when we are here. First impressions: initially, we were a bit skeptical bc there was live music when we pulled up. Luckily, it was outside and we were able to sit inside. (We like to be able to converse and live music often makes that difficult.) Upon entering, the dining room was basically empty. A few people at the bar but very light for 5:00. (There were several people outside on the deck for the live music though...that definitely made a difference) Our server, Kate, came to our table quickly and was extremely friendly and helpful. Food: we ordered the bruschetta appetizer. Wow! It was excellent. My wife said that if we go back she would consider ordering that as her meal...it was that good. For our meals, my wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the cucumber salad, and I got the BBQ chicken flatbread. Both of us were pleased with our choices. She really liked the cucumber salad. I thought the flatbread was delicious and quite large. The menu is fairly basic and standard, but what we had was very good. Overall, it was a good choice for a quick dinner. There were a few other things I thought looked good as well, so we may just return when we are back in the area next year. read more

I stopped by this morning before lunch service started. A waitress outside said, " can I help you"! I said I was looking for a PT bartending job. She said, " hold on, I'll ask the manager", never caught her or the managers name but she didn't even walk towards to meet me or say hi( I had my resume in hand). She said..." Nah, I'm good"! We stopped there to try it out. The place wasn't busy at all. You walk in the door and the sign says wait to be seated. There was a man playing his guitar and singing. The staff was at the bar talking. I kept looking to see if someone would say grab a table or even acknowledge that my wife and son and I had walked in the door. Let me first say that I like Surfside Charlie's but they have a problem that must be solved. The specials are great but the food always comes out cold. Had the meat loaf special last night and the meat loaf was Luke warm. Cord was cold and so was mashed potatoes. I know they get busy but serving cold food is unhealthy and unacceptable. Surfside Charlie's you can do better. Talk with your staff and find a way to serve hot food for everyone. Will try again one more time. read more

This was my first visit to the current restaurant at the spot. The service is great and the atmosphere is casual they have live music. Good night we were there. We had the pretzel and meatballs for our appetizers. The pretzel was tasty and we all loved the cheese sauce. The meatballs were tender and homemade. My son ordered the chicken wings and they were very tasty. I have the shrimp Poboy. The shrimp were so big that four covered the sandwich. The cucumber salad was delicious and was topped with feta cheese. For dessert I tried the Keylime pie in a jar. It was tart and a perfect little dessert after a great meal. They have specials during the week as well as other special nights like trivia. It is more of a local place so I would recommend it if you need a break from the touristy restaurants. read more

My service was fine. Just stopped for a beer. Paid my bill with a 5$ bill and got $2 change. Thought that was fine and then I looked at the bill and it said I was supposed to get $2.31 change. I asked the barmaid why I only got $2 back and she said they don't deal with change, they just round up or down. She did offer to get my $.31 back and I said that wasn't necessary and I was curious. She said a lot of bars do that. I said I have been many places and never encountered that. Please let me know where else that is policy. read more

Surfside Charlie's is a great place to go and chill and enjoy a beer and bar food. The staff an always pleasant and the atmosphere is laid back. The food is good and there's plenty of TVs on the walls. They also have a nice outdoor dining deck where they have live entertainment during the peak season. Being a new part-time local at Surfside, it has become one of my favorite go-to's. Oh, and they have golf cart parking right at the entrance. If you're looking for a romantic place to eat or don't that's conducive to large groups, this is not the place to go. Although they have plenty of seating, they don't have banquet rooms and large tables. Otherwise, it's a great please to hang out with friends and relax. read more

First time for us. Fun vibe, live music and good food. If you don't go during happy hour it can be pricey. A piece of carrot cake was $9.50, ridiculous for a place like this or anywhere. $6 for a draft domestic beer is twice as much as a local competitor. On the plus side they have a lot of special deals all week and the service was very good. read more

Server was very nice! Monday was $5 burger night and the place was pretty full! The burgers were juicy and hot. Meat was very fresh; the only criticism would be that the meat was not seasoned-even salt and pepper would go a long way. Very mediocre place. Ordered the club wrap-- pretty confident I could make the same quality wrap at home. The fries and ranch seemed homemade so that was cool! The service was very slow. It took us (2 people) 30 minutes to receive our entrees. What a great place! We've been here a few times, and have not been disappointed. The appetizers are clever and inventive, the sandwiches are terrific. I think they have the best Reuben I've ever had anywhere, chock full of wonderfulness. The service is a perfect mix of attentiveness without hovering over you. They offer happy hours, live music on the porch in a relaxed fun atmosphere. Its not fancy but we'll be coming back over and over for good food reasonably priced. You wont be disappointed. read more
