When unloading two storage lockers in the garage, I found original paintings that needed to be framed and a 28x33" custom map of my Norwegian heritage locale with provenance in a slip case on the back. That framed map had humidity wrinkling and needed to be flattened. Brought items in around September 2018 (have receipts and notes for all of this somewhere). The paintings were finished nicely - especially the large Avery. Owner was almost paranoid when handling it. When I went to pick up the map, I noticed the custom provenance was missing. (When I brought it in initially, I explained and discussed the provenance and that this is an heirloom to be handed down. I recall both of them seeing it and stating how special that was, etc.) Then, I was told it was probably misplaced and they would find it. I left the framed map there (prepaid). Then, around Christmas, I called the owner who said she had no recollection of anything on the back. I said she needed to find it. If not, I needed the name of the map company, as that was labeled on the inside of the frame, to see what they could do. Months passed. Now keep in mind, I wasn't harrassing, rather phoning every month or two. After Valentine's Day, I called and the owner said she had the framing company's information on her desk at home and would call me with it. Did that happen? No! In Late March, 2019, I was called by the assistant to say she found it in the back room. I picked it up and inquired about her finding it. She said she spotted it and told the owner and then called me. She was so excited to find it. Now, after getting it home, I discover there are one or two small bugs/marks that were pressed into that map. Am not going to pursue this anymore.
