Not happy with my experience. I found Susan's on-line for a delivery to a friend in a hospital nearby. Placed my on-line order early Monday a.m., then within an hour, found out my friend had been moved to another room. Called Susan's to advise of the room # change, only to learn from their recording that they're not open on Mondays (no mention of that on their website, tho). So I immediately placed an order with another florist, and messaged Susan's via their website to cancel my order. That very afternoon, despite being "closed" and despite my cancellation, Susan's delivered the flowers! So my friend rec'd TWO bouquets from us that afternoon (which was a bit awkward), at considerable and unnecessary extra expense. Susan's flowers were nice, but I'm not happy that they disregarded my cancellation -- and that I haven't heard a peep out of them acknowledging the incident. read more

I received a beautiful bouquet for my birthday. My co-worker, who lived in Indianapolis, found them and placed the order. She told me how friendly the lady taking her call was to her, and she learned they use a local farmer for the flowers. The dahlias in my bouquet were cut fresh! We wanted a custom arrangement in the shape of a guitar and SHE MORE THAN DELIVERED. Amy did not laugh, did not stress, did not over charge but she DID make It happen. She chose flowers that were suited to the personality of our friend, she did this by reading about his memorial on the funeral parlor's site. Amy designed stunning floral arrangements for my son's recent rehearsal dinner. I asked her to use her creativity in designing the centerpieces and told her that I wanted to use silver vases to complement the silver colors at the restaurant location. Amy searched high and low to find the perfect silver containers. The arrangements were breathtaking: roses, dahlias, hydrangeas, bells of Ireland, celosia, wax flowers, and astralia with mixed greenery. I especially loved the purple dinnerplate dahlias. Three hours later, that same day, I received a phone call from the florist and was assured that my order would be corrected. They did exactly as they said and I was very pleased with the outcome!!! Jessie and Amy did our son's wedding on June 22nd, and in spite of having two other weddings on the same day, everything was perfection! Jessie and Amy paid attention to every detail in their choices of flowers and designs, including but not limited to the vintage theme, and summer temperatures at an outdoor venue. Due to us being the last wedding of that particular day to sign on, we needed to pick up and set the flowers up at our venue ourselves, but Jessie gave us a specific set of instructions, and her personal cell number in case there were any questions or concerns. There weren't...everything was amazing! One of our guests sent me a text later saying that ours were the most beautiful wedding flowers she had ever seen. And, she regularly photographs flowers as a hobby. Not only were the flowers fresh and perky for the wedding, but they lasted in arrangements for nearly a week afterward. Would I recommend Susan's? I contacted Susan's Florist to put an arrangement together for my wife as she is in Louisville, KY for business. I wanted it to be special with some local flavor, personal to capture what I know my wife likes and something that would bring add a special touch to the hotel room she would be staying in. I worked with Jessie to come up with the arrangement. She actually had me send her photos with what I thought my wife would like and said that they would try to match it as best they could with a mix of what they thought would work best. I sent them a few different photos and had 2 or 3 phone conversations with them to come up with the a final result. My request included the flowers be delivered at a specific time to one of the hotels downtown and I didn't know if they would be able to do that. Of course they were able to. I also wanted to prepare the card personally and their recommendation was to get a card and send it to them so that it could be included with the arrangement which is exactly what we did. I sent the card a few days ahead of time so that it would arrive there in time for them to deliver it with the flowers. The day of her arrival, I wanted to include another message with the flower arrangement and emailed a copy of it to them. They printed it off in color and folded it as if it was an actual card and included some additional 'instructions' on the envelope similar to what I had done with the other cards. The arrangement was delivered to the hotel well ahead of my wife's arrival that day which gave the hotel staff time to get it into the room for the surprise. The people at Susan's Florist were always very polite and professional while at the same time treating me as if I were a longtime friend. I cannot say enough about how they seemed to go out of their way to make sure I was a satisfied customer. The flower arrangement looked even better than what I had originally sent to them as a guide and it even had locally raised Kentucky Tulips in it. My wife was overwhelmingly surprised and happy to get such an arrangement. I cannot say enough good things about them. It is no wonder why I see the 5 star reviews that are here. I have always loved Susan's Florist. My dad use to send me flowers from Susan's when I was a little girl. However, the past two instances I've used them, the service has been subpar. I'm not sure if it's actually Susan's, or the way they "pool' their work. The first instance, the card for my friend read, "Happy Thritieth birthday" rather than "Happy Thirtieth Birthday". Whatever. I get it. Words can be hard. This time, which was today, I received a call from the delivery driver. She was given the incorrect address by the shop (123 Main vs 325 Main). I didn't hear anything for a few hours, and I then checked to see if my friend received her flowers. She had not. So, I tried to call the driver back. She didn't answer. So, I called the shop back. I was told that the flowers weren't coming from their shop, but from a "delivery pool", meaning, Susan's doesn't do their own deliveries. The lady offered to call the driver, then she called me back, and stated the flowers were on their way. The driver called me, and asked me again what the address was. About 10 minutes later, I get another call from the driver, and she was FURIOUS, and she said, verbatim, "THE ADDRESS WAS 325. I JUST WANT *YOU* TO KNOW THAT YOU GAVE ME THE WRONG ADDRESS!" I'd like to add that 321, 323, and 325 W. Main street, is all in the same building. This rating isn't so much about the quality of flower sent. This is about how Susan's doesn't use their own delivery drivers, thusly, causing too much room for error, and these other drivers do not care about the service they're providing to another business's customer. Additionally, I'm not entirely sure the flowers were even arranged by Susan's. I will never use this florist ever again. I will use whatever, 1-800-FLOWERS or whatever, because I don't expect decent service from them, so I won't be disappointed. It was incredible how terribly the driver talked to me. The delay in delivery isn't and wasn't a big deal. But, the fact that in this driver's eyes, I needed to be screamed at for a human mistake, is enough to drive me away forever. read more

Very disappointed. I know it's my fault for waiting till the day of my anniversary, but when I arrived at Susan's Florist, they were already closed and it was only 4:45. I'm not sure what time they close since there was no hours sign in any of the windows around the building.
