My boyfriend and I have been here a couple times. The place is on the ground floor of an office building and very much so has cafeteria vibes, the servers are always nice, but the food overall is pretty meh. We're tried probably 5-6 different types of rolls here and they tend to be hit-or-miss. Some of them taste fresh and flavorful, will others taste odd and like they're a bare step above supermarket sushi. Overall not bad prices, but you definitely get what you pay for

Great sushi at such a good price! We ordered takeout from here, but there are plenty of tables inside for you to dine inside as well. Their menu is quite extensive with a bunch of different rolls and combos. I opted for the torch sushi box which came with 8 giant pieces of torched sushi, as well as 2 hand rolls and a side of seaweed salad and edamame. Altogether this was under $25 which was such a steal! The fish tasted fresh, and the rice was well seasoned too. I will definitely be back for more sushi!

This place is a lovely hidden gem! It's on the edge of Queen Anne, and part of a larger office building. But do stop by! Small and unassuming, the food is solid and cheap, and service is attentive and quick. We ordered the cheesy mussels to share which were so fire. They came out hot and steamy, the cheese was all melted and gooey, and the mussels were meaty and sweet. I got an assortment of torch sushi. My favorite was the spicy tuna, but they were honestly all so good. I love that they add toppings and shrimp tempura inside of the rice to add some different textures. Overall, a really solid sushi spot. I especially loved the super fair price point. Would definitely come back!

My daughter and I wanted some sushi while visiting Seattle after riding on our lime scooters and came across sushi Ave. The staff was super friendly and helpful during are whole time there. The sushi was really good, ams fresh. This is a place I will definitely go back when in the seattle area.

Saw a new sushi place in the area and we finally got around to trying it. Went on a Saturday night and there were a few people, but we were able to be seated right away. It's a cute little small café type feel. We first had a salmon skin salad that was kind of like an appetizer and on the house, which was ridiculously tasty. I don't know how they get that salmon so crispy. The Hawaiian roll was very unique from other sushi rolls that I've had before, but I really enjoyed the flavor combination! I also had some simple cucumber maki and a Philly roll. They brought us to Japanese cream puffs because they wanted to apologize for the long wait for food, however, it wasn't a long wait at all! Even though there was only one person I think in the back making sushi, we both thought service was relatively quick. I of course, had to end the night with Taiyaki and I got it with strawberry ice cream--it came with popping strawberry boba too Prices were decent and they have a lunch special we'll definitely come back for too, in addition to dinner again!

Easy and cheap. Their menu is fun and their own. Everything about this place is what it is. You'll have to go in person to understand. From the off beat interior design to their choice of ingredients, even their portions and service. The I'm being generous with 4 stars, the food is 3 stars, but when you factor in the fact that their food is so darn affordable, I think people in the area will seriously appreciate having this spot in this location. All the other restaurants that have opened in this exact location have failed pretty bad, but in my opinion, this place just feels right. Gives me that, I'm on lunch break at my outskirts downtown water over looking job. Takes me back to those days. Let's get to the serious talk. Their interior is very boring, inconsistent, and probably left over from the last restaurant. I'm fine with that, seeing how they aren't presenting themselves as some fancy luxury sushi spot with high prices. To be honest I'd rather them focus on improving their offerings before investing time into looks. To be further honest, I hope find that sweet spot to get to a point where they do update the place. It will for sure attract more customers. Their menu selection was adequate. Nothing over the top, but for sure not boring. They have a many of the classics as well as their own signatures. One of their signatures is their torch sushi which wasn't anything like I imagined it would be based on the name. It's actually pretty cool and unique and not just regularly old seared nigiri. I ended up ordering a baked roll with pineapples and melted cheese on top. Very unique for Seattle, but I've had fun rolls like this in other states. I will add, there are a few other sushi spots in the area that also offer some sort of niche sushi so I can't say they have gone above and beyond. Their service is above average, but not over the top. Our server greeted us with kindness and check on us regularly. Their kitchen is not walled off so you can see the employees hard at work. Zero wondering, what's taking so long. They brought out each dish as it was completed. They even did something kind and fairly genius. They used the left over salmon from our order to prepare us a salmon skin salad as an appetizer for free. Even though they warned us the specific items we ordered would take a bit longer to took, they still took care of us. Huge bonus in my opinion. I could feel their concern for our well being and happiness. For the price point I was impressed in a few areas, yet still let down in areas that I feel like could have easily boost their food rating. For one, their wasabi was real and fresh. Most cheap spot have unacceptable wasabi that creeps me out, but they are not one of em. The fish they used was fresh and tender in a way I could eat all day. Their presentation was very beautiful and their sauces had great flavor. One thing that I personally think they could do to help would be to use more rice for their nigiri, like double or triple since rice is cheap. I also wished the seared salmon had sauce on it. There were other things my heart desired for 5 star sushi but at this price point they exceeded or met my expectations.

Such nice people! Kyle was our server, Seth the owner. Relaxed jazzy background music and photo-worthy, tastebud pleasing food. Had miso, two rolls, hamachi nigiri, and chicken karaage. Wish they had sake but that's being negotiated with the landlord (who I hope is giving them an equivalent break in rent for lost revenue due to the lack of alcohol sales). Please support your local business and drop in for a sit down meal or take out! Closed Wednesdays, I think.

Definitely brought the mood down further. Food was a hit or a miss, no in between. Hit: Garlic short ribs (my partner said these were tender and a good portion for happy hour), Poke sushi roll (good fish quality and taste) Misses: First Ave Roll (sauce was just walloped on top, weak flavors), veggie and shrimp tempura (heavy and soggy batter), pink lychee cooler (artificially sweet with no strong lychee flavor), green tea tiramisu (photo speaks for itself). For all the rave reviews, I was pretty let down. Thankfully, we went during happy hour so we didn't pay full price. I would not visit here again.

There is a 90 minute window for AYCE, and you can order a maximum of 3 items per person every 15 minutes. All orders have to be made from an app on your phone so make sure you have a fully charged device! When we logged in the app, it was confusing to manage at first so we worked with the server to put our orders in. She had to put in our orders for us a couple of times and then we figured out how to work the system after that. To do the math for those reading the review and maximize the number of items you can order with the 90 minute window, you can potentially order up to 18 sets of skewers per person. Each set of skewer has two sticks. My hubby and I missed a few items from our order but we were getting full after my 10th skewer and his 15th skewer so it did not matter too much! The AYCE menu also has options to order zaru soba, corn cheese, and takoyaki! Presentation is great but I wish the flavor matched the visuals. The standout skewers for us were the boruta pork and the wagyu beef tongue. I was really hoping that the yakitori would be crispier and had more of a smokey flavor but I really can't complain too much for the price point. The food is solid but not like a wow, I have to come back here again! We only saw one server for the busiest part of the night, serving 8 tables all at once. She made sure that our glasses were never empty and she treated us warmly. Wile the decor and the general atmosphere are pleasant, the quality of the food would not merit another visit for me.

However, the wait between courses kind of took away from the experience. It felt like we were waiting about 10 minutes for each course, which made it hard to stay excited for what was coming next. Our dinner ended up taking about two hours, and honestly, it felt like we could have finished much sooner if the pacing between courses had been a little quicker. Out of the five courses, my favorite was definitely the second course, the Fuji salmon. It was delicious and the most memorable nigiri of the night. The rest of the courses were good, but we found ourselves comparing it to other sushi experiences we've enjoyed more. We ended dinner with the hojicha tiramisu, which was extremely delicious. They open with a soup which was rich and so good for a rainy day -which it was-. Then the round of makis started. It started with the "basic". But for me they were amazing since the beginning. Of course the further it went, the more noticeable the delicacy and tenderness of the meat became. There was another soup at some point. I lost count of how many pieces we had. I was focused on the ingredients when they mentioned them. Pure art. I remember the second plate was a beautiful collage of many bites. Loved all of them! The mix of all these flavors is unique. I didn't feel hungry even with just one bite of each. There's a parking lot on the next corner. So no need to drive around. I really recommend the experience.
