The menu is quite extensive with a large variety of rolls and other options to choose from. We enjoyed sushi boom! Came in on a weeknight -Thursday? An hour before closing and It was almost empty. I've driven by before and noted how lively it was and have bookmarked it on yelp to try for some time. Inside it was clean and we saw some parties outside in the patio as well. While the crispy rice with tuna was a little too crispy, I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered and fried. The service was fast and the prices were moderate. We're definitely adding this to our sushi rotation and will be back to try more sushi! Also the parking lot seemed limited, not sure if this lot gets packed in the afternoon-evening time. read more

everything was good! i could tell that the ingredients were fresh and good quality. my friend and i weren't too hungry for dinner so we shared three rolls and edamame for appetizers. we ate delight yellowtail, something special, and crunch dragon. i really enjoyed delight yellowtail as it had sautéed onion and garlic chips on the top. i have never seen that combo on a sushi before but they were really complementing the freshness and a bit of cooked onions. something special was def something special. service was awesome, the owner is super sweet and fast. the ambiance was cozy and they also have outside patio. i recommend!! read more

Hands down the best rolls we've had in the greater OC/IE area. We've tried numerous well-rated sushi spots throughout the area over the past couple years and while some were good, they just weren't *great*. Sushi Boom though is *great*! They have a nice but not overwhelming selection of fresh, tempura, baked, and veggie rolls as well as soups, appetizers etc. The rolls were so fresh tasting and well-balanced. I had the OhNo! and the Something Special both of which have a little spice to them but not scorch your mouth hot. The restaurant is small, but we had no problem getting seated right away at 7:30 on a Friday night. Looks like a lot of people order pickup/takeout. 100% recommend. We will definitely be making the 30 minute drive out here next time we want sushi. read more

Pros: spider roll was phenomenal. I liked the oh no roll too, that was interesting. It was able to order quite easily over the phone and they let me know exactly what time my order would be ready. Cons: prices on the expensive side. I ordered a Philadelphia roll (I know I know) but this one was NOTTT worth it. I didn't realize that the happy hour prices were dine in only but a regular Philly roll is $16. It was a good roll but not THAT good. Service was nice and efficient, though restaurant was almost empty on a Wednesday night at 7PM. It looks like they have a large menu of stuff but we just had rolls. read more

I would never want to write a bad review, but this was a bad experience, and a SHORT ONE to say the least. Immediately walking in, the hostess or manager immediately shook her head and rolled her eyes at my friend and I walking in. Without saying anything, she shooed us out. This sushi place surprised me. The food is delicious. The garlic edamame was quite tasty. It has a little kick to it, a little tangy and savory with a hint of sweetness. The crispy tuna rice was good as well. My niece said it was spicy but I like it. It is not super spicy that I can't handle. I forgot what the roll was called but it was tasty. The food took a little time to come out but they were quite busy and I can see the chef working hard getting the orders out. So definitely order an appetizer or two. I stopped by here for some ramen since I was craving some and it was close to my work but was kinda disappointed. The ramen noodles seemed almost like instant noodles based off the noodle texture and broth. it's not the typical creamy ramen broth at usual places but kinda like Shin Ramen noodles that I buy at Costco so kinda bummed out I paid 12 bucks for some soup I could've made at home. Didn't expect much because it just looked like a typical sushi place with tons of rolls, but was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Chef's Choice Sushi combination and a separate order of jumbo scallop sushi. Sushi combination came with eight pieces of sushi. They were fairly standard sushi items like tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and few others, but were all fresh and tasted good. I really liked the sauce they provided with our sushi. In addition to soy sauce, they gave us ponzu sauce and some other sauce that tasted like ponzu with some sesame oil. Jumbo scallop sushi was excellent. Was very fresh and had a nice sweetness to it. Would definitely return if I'm in the area. Take-out only at this time due to COVID-19. No option for dining inside or outside. Menu is posted outside and you order at the window. Overall it was a good experience, however, cleanliness is one of the biggest points for me. The plates that were handed to us were dirty with crust of some sort all over both. Additionally the tables were sticky even after the server cleaned it. As for the food, it was great for AYCE. No complaints there. This sushi restaurant is a hidden gem in orange! I always find it hard to find a really good, quality sushi restaurant that isn't overpriced. It's in a small plaza so you might not think much of the restaurant but they have the most fresh and delicious fish here! The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was and the friendly staff. We were seated right away and given water to drink as soon as we sat down.I will note that my husband and I did come around 4:30pm when the restaurant wasn't too busy but all in all the food was so great. All of our food came out in a timely manner and the pieces of fish on the sushi and rolls were really generous and again did I mention how fresh the fish was! We had high hopes for this place based on the rating, but were disappointed. Everything we ordered basically tasted like a California Roll and it was pricey. Pieces of fish were small, my husband said his vegetable tempura was greasy and didn't taste fresh. We ordered the roll with no rice and cucumber on the outside (I forget what it's called), but there was hardly any fish in it, mostly imitation crab, the cucumber was cut way too thick and overall it lacked flavor. This is my always go to spot in OC ! Always friendly staffs , fresh sushi and good creations mixed of special menus are must try. I tried a yellowtail (forgot what it called) with little bit of spicy kicks sashimi platter with thin slices of fried onion. My little one enjoyed variety of meal options including a free appetizers from the server so we did have a great time and definitely coming back here again. Sushi Boom offers a really good selection of sushi and other Japanese food. I was pleasantly surprised by their portions and quality of fish. The salmon teriyaki bento box is huge and I had leftovers to take home. The quality of fish for the sashimi is really good for the price point. Everything was priced very reasonably for the quality of food. Service is really good. It was a bit busy when we went so food came out a little slow so they offered a free miso soup to make up for it which was very nice. They also have lunch specials and a roll special lunch.
