About £25 per person for the buffet. There is an excellent selection of dishes you can choose. You can order 3 rounds, 6 dishes per round. I did not order the full number of dishes. The number one could physically eat depends heavily on what you order. Orders for sashimi are only 3 pieces and nigiri are 2, so if you order a lot of those as dishes you might want the full amount. Others like the rolls are much more filling. I unfortunately was disappointed by the sushi, even considering it was AYCE. I would have rather had wasabi or itsu and I don't think either are particularly nice. It was a massive ratio of rice to fish. Oddly I loved the hot food I ordered. The chicken skewers were super nice and the gyoza were tasty as well. The prawn katsu was a bit greasy but overall a nice dish. I didn't try any of the noodles or rice but there are a lot of options on the menu. Service was quick and efficient. Incredible setup for meals. 17 pounds for all you can eat sushi. Did not try anything that I didn't like. You can get appetizers, soups, multiple different types of sushi, and just about anything you can think of for that price. The food saved them on this occasion, there was one young gentleman in there serving that was on the ball and very polite but the woman didn't seem interested, maybe she had a bad day. The food was outstanding and very filling and you got so much food for the price, plus they let a few cans of coke slide on the final bill, it was a little disappointed they wouldn't make my partner a orange and lemonade. I heard they offer "all you can eat" so I went there with friends! With that course, you can choose anything you want on the special menu which includes sashimi, sushi, tempura, miso soup, a la carte and so on and you can order many times except sashimi. Then it costs £15! Crazy! The each plates have good volume and freshness was ok. They served delicious food, but I didn't feel it was authentic Japanese food. The restaurant was very crowded so I sometimes felt difficulty to call staff to order, and it took a bit long to get the meal. But it means it's a popular restaurant! Some highlights of our two people dinner tonight: - Sushi is made of 98% rice - My Temaki (also made 98% rice) had salmon fat in it (no fish at all) - They charge you a 10% service fee not included in the price mentioned in the menu - Sushi Rolls are massive, badly shaped and some came with warm rice - Restaurant charges you a £5 fee for food waste In summary, not only the Sushi is of the poorest quality I have ever had, but I also had to pay the food waste fee to the restaurant. I was referred to this place on a coworkers recommendation. I am glad I tired it. I came in the afternoon about an hour before the close ( before the supper hour). The cafe is small and casual but it was not crowded when I was there. I ordered a sushi sashimi set, which came with various nigiri and sashimi slices. the prawns, clams and salmon all seemed fresh. The textures were distinct - crunchy sweet, spicy. The saki I order with my meal was also excellent. Can't wait to return and try the buffet. read more

The all-you-can-eat is from a set menu, basically if you like salmon and tuna you cannot go wrong as that is the bulk of the sushi options. I love eel so ordered 2 portions for myself and my friend but wow, it was the worst eel I have ever tasted - so chewy and cold? I have only ever had eel served hot so this was really strange and I did not enjoy it at all but was forced to eat it in order to avoid the £5 fee per person for any wasted food. We visited for my birthday dinner after I tried to find an AYCE sushi place closer to my home. I had been seeing Sushi Cafe on Groupon for ages with mixed reviews and decided to give it a try - without the Groupon - since their full price is the same as with the voucher. At the same price, I may as well give it all to the business (Groupon takes 45%). When we walked in at 7pm the restaurant was about 1/3 full. We had no reservations and the first thing we were asked upon entering was if we had "a deal". When we stated we didn't, we were promptly seated. We didn't have a reservation and were two adults, one child of 11. We all three had AYCE and ordered A LOT of food. It came fast, exactly as we ordered, and it tasted nice. Was it the best sushi I have had? No, not by a long shot. Was it fresh and served as I expected? Yes, it most certainly was. The selection isn't actually that great and the reason for four stars and not five. You have to like salmon, because aside from one tuna maki roll, it is all they really have for fresh fish. Total bill came to around £41 for two and a half people. £14.99 per adult and half price for under 12's. The math there doesn't add up, which means there's a service charge in there somewhere. Not a big deal for us. No complaints on the food or service - everything was good and the price was totally reasonable. I recommend Sushi Cafe to people who want better than grocery store prepacked sushi, but can't pay the prices demanded from the more upscale, more authenitic (and better) locations centrally. read more

I was quite hopeful that this place would be good after reading the reviews about the all you can eat sushi. I found it below average in food quality. The deep fried items on the menu had too much batter. The sushi wasn't impressive and I found the taste a little bland. Considering the price, I didn't find it a good value for my money. The staff was nice to explain how the all you can eat works. They state that you can only place the sashimi order once, which is fine. But I tried to order 3 orders and apparently it's only 1 order per person (which isn't written anywhere). They need to really state that. And the pieces for sashimi are so small. I do give them the benefit of the doubt that I am used to very fresh sushi from where I am from. Which I know isn't the case for London. But I wouldn't be coming back to this place. We have been here once before with a Groupon voucher, so thought we'd come back for another try. It's an all you can eat Buffett for £14.99 per person. You order off the menu though and can choose any of the items up to three times. The starters are a bit of a Chinese combination with things like prawn toast and chicken satay. Then you have a variety of sushi rolls to choose from, including sashimi and nigiri. They also have noodles and soups to choose from. There isn't a huge selection but enough to fill you up, we didn't even order from the three rounds, we were stuffed after two! Green tea is also included in the price. Atmosphere is quite cafeteria like, but no biggie. Note they also add a 10% service charge into the bill. Would probably go back a third time, but not for a while. read more

I've been to Sushi Cafe and ordered ala carte to take away and I've eaten in with the "buffet" (basically all-you-can-eat from a set menu). Both were really yummy. Service is great, the price is very reasonable for what you get, and the quality is really great. My only complaint is that they really should do something to dull the noise. As the space isn't very large, and it's fairly popular with groups, so it can get very hard to hear across a small table If you're a sushi fan and want to try a place where you get a lot for a little price, I really recommend checking this spot out. Came here for lunch after hearing about it from a few friends. Upon entering we were greeted by the waitress pushing the door closed in front of us so we couldn't enter right away, then coming back to tell us (fairly rudely) we were too late to have the buffet (it was just past 2 PM on a Saturday). We asked for menus but decided to take our business elsewhere, since they clearly didn't want it. On the plus side the sushi looked decent. Simply delicious! I was brought here by friends who told me it was as good as sushi they've had in Japan, and it didn't disappoint. I was suspicious at first, especially as I didn't think anything could come close to my favourite Pham Sushi, but this place is really good! It's a bit out of the way in Battersea but the sushi is really fresh and tasty! They also have a fantastically smooth and creamy green tea ice cream to finish, and the pricing represents great value! This was one of the weirdest dining experiences we've had to date - and this is coming from a person who had a server fail to understand the concept of a lime. The scene: the cafe was completely empty. Upon entering, the manager had to confer with servers to see if they had enough seats for two people. She then informed us that we had a tight 90 minutes to eat our food. She asked if we wanted a la carte or buffet. We replied: a la carte. The question was repeated at least 3 times, as the manager pushed us to consider the buffet. She finally gave us one menu, then returned approximately 45 seconds later to see if we had decided on anything. We had not. The food was fine, but the eating experience was slightly marred by the presence of at least 4 staff members who stood close by, watching in silence. At one point, they watched us in a mirror. We were still the only people in the cafe. When it came time to pay, the manager essentially demanded we get cash to be eligible for the discount. She recommended a Sainsburys with a cash machine nearby. Unfortunately, said Sainsburys did not appear to exist. When we finally got the cash, we fled the scene. 3.27/10 would not recommend unless you're looking to write an interesting yelp review. read more

For £14.99 per person you get as much fresh, just made sushi as you want and lots of tasty other Japanese dishes as well (be careful not to order too much of the fried stuff or you won't be able to eat the sushi, and it's the best part!) The restaurant is small and bare, not a fancy place but a great place to catch up casually/drop into for lunch or dinner. Staff aren't overly friendly, but they are good and efficient and always try to accommodate you if you haven't booked. Though it gets very busy so try and book in advance! I was craving decent sushi and the misleading 4 stars on yelp and Google maps lead me here for all you can eat. This is really not sushi. Chinese run restaurant masquerading as a Japanese restaurant while Kpop is constantly run as background music. Salmon skin roll destroyed the roof of my mouth worse than any crusty baguette, tuna was dry and gross. Tempura was soggy and bready. Salmon was okay but was the smallest piece of sashimi I have ever tried. It was cut into a foreign triangular piece of a serving. Weird, size of half a normal piece elsewhere. Dumplings were MSG filled instant frozen ones straight from the Chinese market. Over service, the kind where they are practically breathing down your back and coming to see how you are doing every 30 secs. Then when the place has a few more customers, you get completely ignored until you have to flag a person down for the card machine 3 times. A girl tried taking away my small plate..the one I was eating from while she tried to take it! What a disappointment. I wouldn't even come back if I had the entire menu for free. Try somewhere else! Well this might be a bit off since we didn't get to try the food. We went in to the restaurant which was less the half full after 8pm. We were "greeted" by do you have a reservation, when we said no we received a huff and he disappeared into the back. Four seconds later he came back a told us that they were fully booked and pointed to the door and left back to the kitchen area. Absolutely terrible: - Chairs were dirty - Dark, no lights were on - Menu had food on it, literally pieces of rice stuck to it and sticky sauce - Kappa Maki was chewing and tasteless - Wasabi was grainy and tasteless - Gyoza was soggy - Salad was from a plastic bag and had dead leaves - the dressing was good though - Service was dreadful. The waitress was talking to the table next to me while pouring hot tea into my cup and almost spilled it onto my plate. My one and only positive - the miso soup was yummy with 3 nice chunks of tofu. If you have actually experienced having good sushi - you will dislike this place. Recommended for families with small children that are on a budget and do not have a developed sense of taste.
