Complimentary miso soup

Came on a whim after visiting the jewelers in the plaza. It was after 8:30pm so it was not very busy. The amount of special rolls is a little overwhelming in a good way. We wanted a lot of things on the menu and the server came over and said let me get your order before you forget. Anyway we usually we order more than 2 rolls per person but with all of the complimentary items they give you, that would have been excessive. We ordered 4 rolls for the 2 of us and we struggled to finish. We got 2 rolls with mango - dynamite mango which is spicy tuna and mango with crab on top. This one was our favorite, it did sort of fall apart but it was delicious. The spicy mayo is actually spicy here. The other mango roll was twice the girth of a normal roll and it was filled with mango, shrimp tempura, cucumber and avocado. The mango was perfectly ripe and sweet. The scallop roll was also a winner which was spicy tuna topped with chopped scallop and kani with spicy mayo. Lobster roll was pretty good and you didnt struggle to find the lobster meat. This was also a jumbo roll. On top of all that, we were given complimentary veggie pancake, hot miso soup and at the end cookies and cream ice cream. We ended up having about a half roll left to take home. The leftovers held up and were eaten the next day. I would definitely come back and try more rolls. The service was great and the water glasses were huge - didn't even need a refill!

I used to work in Franklin Lakes and this was one of our go-to places for lunch. Service is quick, staffs are nice and friendly. Most importantly, food tastes great. I had many different types of sushi here and all were so good. I must mention that their mochi and ice cream are very good too. If you're around the area, I recommend coming to this place. They also run lunch specials Mon-Sat till 3pm. Giving them five stars because visiting here for years but did not find a single small fault.

Fabulous meal tonight as always! We tried the spicy gyoza for the first time and I highly recommend. Shumai soup was delicious. All of the sushi rolls were beautifully prepared and so tasty. I was impressed that the pens used to sign the receipts were sanitized after use. Thank you Cocoro!

I have been coming here for years. They were consistently good until last year when I had almost frozen sashimi a few times. Today was my first day back since we were in the area and wanted to eat. The restaurant itself is really nice and cozy. There is a sushi bar area and then a bunch of tables. It's a decent size, not too big and not too small. I usually get the sashimi meal or sashimi bento box which has less raw fish but you get rice and 2 sides. I usually get the spicy tuna sushi as both sides, it has a nice little kick to it. Today the sashimi was not bad. We also got a few rolls and a teriyaki chicken bento box. Everything is not bad. The staff members are always friendly and the free ice cream at the end is always nice. The price is very reasonable as well. They have plenty of parking since it shares the lot with a bunch of other stores including a stop and shop. Overall not a bad meal.

CocoRo is a great stop off I287 for a delicious sushi lunch! The bento box come last with 6 pcs, Soup, salad, shrimp, rice & ice cream for $14....can't beat it!! All the rolls are made to order & the service is excellent.

The spider roll was so large and badly rolled, it fell apart and couldn't be eaten in less than 3 bites.

We don't know what happened to this place. We used to order takeout and go once in awhile to eat in the restaurant. The sushi was always pretty good, and they had a crazy spicy tuna crunch roll. Tonight, everything was terrible. The sushi was way to wide. It should be a one bite thing. Each cut piece was the size of a jar lid. When I asked how I was supposed to eat the Boston roll, which had everything in it besides the usual ingredients, the waitress brought me a knife and fork. Seriously. Nothing was good. The don buri had no sauce. The rolls were large and fell apart because they weren't rolled properly. They never refilled or waters or asked if we wanted another soda. Just really bad. It's sad, because we liked this place and would drive 25 minutes to eat here. Guess we will just stick with Sushi Bada.

Came here for lunch and while the place is normally packed, we went at noon when Barack Obama was delivering his Inaguration speech. Suffice to say we were able to get the full attention of the entire staff. Lots of items on the menu from cold and hot appetizers to regular and speciality sushi rolls, tempura, yaki soba, udon, teriyaki, donburi, and party platters will satisfy whatever Japanese craving you might have at the time. Our group of 3 decided to order 3 regular rolls averaging ~5 and the specialty rolls ~$12-$14. The regular rolls are good, but the specialty rolls are outstanding. Our group enjoyed the dynamite roll (inside spicy crab w/crunch) spicy tuna, crunch, scallion on top w/spicy sauce and the hot flower roll (inside shrimp tempura, avocado) tuna, salmon, spicy sauce & scallion on top the most. The hot green tea is very good especially with the spicy rolls we ordered. Will definitely recommend this place for others to try.

Fresh, delicious sushi. Every time I try somewhere else, I'm very disappointed. It's a great local find and my go-to sushi place.

Solid local sushi spot with a chill vibe…read more Sushi and Sashimi Special ($75) - This party platter comes with 12 pieces of sushi, 18 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece spicy tuna naruto roll, and 6 piece california roll. I think it would be enough to feed 2 people, but if you have more than that, you probably want to order another roll or two. Everything here was pretty good. The fish seemed average freshness. The naruto roll was unique with cucumber around the outside, though the tuna was not really spicy. I specifically thought the sea bream (white fish) sashimi was good, as it had a creamy taste and consistency. Julie Roll ($15) - This roll was delicious, with a nice combo of yellowtail, salmon, and tuna in one roll. In addition, there was mango for some sweetness, avocado, and cucumber in there. It was topped with red fish eggs and had a soy wrapper around it, which made it a little unique. Beauty and Beast Roll ($15) - This is sort of a 2-in-1 roll, as half of the pieces have tuna on top and half have avocado on top. There is also shrimp tempura inside along with cucumber and eel. Another tasty roll. The restaurant has a very chill vibe inside. There were a couple others dining in as well for Sunday lunch. The staff are super friendly and even gave us a side of edamame on the house. The service speed was pretty quick. Overall, if you are in the mood for some sushi (either dining in or take-out), I think Nigiri Sushi would be a very good option, particularly if you are in the Franklin Lakes area.
