Location is fantastic. Easy to get to. Parking everywhere but might have to search for a bit…read morebecause this place is so popular for tourist destination. The restarting itself is hip and service is fast. Now to the sushi part... Oh My GOD! The fish is high quality. You can TASTE the difference comparing to many other business around the area. It has a train that delivers the sushi and you could also order from the chefs. There is also a menu that you can order from. I got their salmon sashimi and it just salivated in my mouth. I also ordered a salmon and tuna hand roll and it was spot on. If you are looking for a quick sit down with GREAT quality sushi. This is the place to go.

I was practically ready to reroute that sushi train directly into my mouth the moment we walked…read moreinto Kinoko, but I restrained myself. Being back in civilisation after a weekend of gumbooting my way around Splendour In The Mud had nearly broken me. Nearly. Enter Kinoko. Five of us were able to sit down, pick up some immediate necessities from the train (wakame salad - check. Salmon sashimi - check.) as well as order a few specialities from the made-to-order menu like agedashi eggplant, udon and gourmet rolls. Definitely a spot I'd visit again if in the area - hopefully next time in a much less savage mood. Any restaurant that can gracefully feed five feral festival-goers and somehow manage to please each and every one of us is definitely worth repeating.

I went to Tokyo express because we decided that we needed to stop eating at amazing places, and go…read moresomewhere average so we didn't over-eat. We chose this sushi place because of it's predecessor - Sushi Station. We were sorely disappointed. By which I mean, Tokyo Express has taken the place of one of the most lacklustre sushi venues south of the city and turned it into an amazing, unique and exciting sushi restaurant that stands out compared to all of it's competitors. The staff do the usual adorably loud greeting when you enter, and offer seating at a booth or at the train. We always opt for the train as it has consistently been magnificently stocked with some of the most exciting and inventive plates I've encountered in my quest for the perfect sushi. They offer water or green tea upon seating and at each table/section of the train they have pots of soy, fresh (mild) Wasabi and pickled ginger. Tokyo Express have all manner of weird and wonderful plates ranging from the classic seared fresh salmon to almond crumbed king prawns, octopus balls, caviare and scallop tarts, fresh Japanese and western deserts and pretty much any type of fun and funky sushi dish you could imagine. I couldn't recommend Tokyo Express more. They have been quiet each time we have dined there and I really hope to rectify this! 5/5 will continue to go back. A quick hint - if you're choosing something that looks like it should be hot, ask them to heat it. Until they get as busy as they need to be, some things won't be piping hot (IE Karage, salt/pepper squid, gyoza) and they're more than happy to re-heat.

My favourite sushi place in Brisbane, wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, cheap and great…read moreservice, it's not flashy, but they sure know how to cook! My husband and I used to live really close but we have moved to the south side, and we still drive across the city to eat here. They have free green Tea and the wait for a table isn't too long, I'm not sure If management had changed but they used to do the second Tuesday and Wednesday of each month was every plate for $2! (they didn't serve the super fancy stuff on those nights but it was a great night out to eat till you pop!)
