By which I mean, Tokyo Express has taken the place of one of the most lacklustre sushi venues south of the city and turned it into an amazing, unique and exciting sushi restaurant that stands out compared to all of it's competitors. The staff do the usual adorably loud greeting when you enter, and offer seating at a booth or at the train. We always opt for the train as it has consistently been magnificently stocked with some of the most exciting and inventive plates I've encountered in my quest for the perfect sushi.They offer water or green tea upon seating and at each table/section of the train they have pots of soy, fresh (mild) Wasabi and pickled ginger. Tokyo Express have all manner of weird and wonderful plates ranging from the classic seared fresh salmon to almond crumbed king prawns, octopus balls, caviare and scallop tarts, fresh Japanese and western deserts and pretty much any type of fun and funky sushi dish you could imagine. I couldn't recommend Tokyo Express more. They have been quiet each time we have dined there and I really hope to rectify this! 5/5 will continue to go back. A quick hint - if you're choosing something that looks like it should be hot, ask them to heat it. Until they get as busy as they need to be, some things won't be piping hot (IE Karage, salt/pepper squid, gyoza) and they're more than happy to re-heat.

While the Bento did have a generous slab of Unagi and white rice, the rest of the items in the Bento were tepid at best...a very small mixed green salad with a Mayo dressing, two small, fried cabbage rolls, two small pieces of tuna sushi, a slice of orange cut in half, and Miso soup. The Dragon Roll was okay, but pretty ordinary, yet my partner who ordered it thought it was delicious...I tried a piece and wasn't of the same agreement. All nitpicking aside, Miko's Bento seems popular with the locals and is a busy location off Sherwood Road. But when you've had better, like at Koto Sanpo in the city, and pay a few dollars more, it's hard to find the value in Miko's offering...apart from not having to drive and find parking in the CBD. The worst experience I have ever had at my local McDonalds!!!…read more Upon my arrival to McDonalds at The Gap in Brisbane, at approximately 5.45pm on Friday June 23, with my young daughter and trolley full of shopping in hand, I was quickly greeted by a male employee, before I had even sat down, who bluntly told me that I could not leave my trolley on the property and that I had to return it to Coles. My response to that was "are you joking?" to which he replied: "Well, its not our job to return your trolley for you." As you can assume, I was well taken aback by his blunt and blatantly rude attitude in not only how he spoke to me, in front of my child mind you, but in how he even approached me in the first instance. He targeted me from the second he saw me with the trolley and then he just assumed that I was going to be rude enough to just leave it there, on their property. He never bothered to speak to me with any level of kindness, basic maturity or professionalism. He was one of these people who put on a "suit", and then think they can treat everyone else like shit. Mate - you work at McDonalds. Not exactly something you should be proud of - it is something 14 and 15 year old kids do. Because of the deplorable behaviour of this guy, that I was forced to have to tolerate, I will be reporting him to the Senior Store Manager as well as McDonalds Head Office. Something tells me that this guy won't last very long. Maybe he can next try his luck at HJs! LOL :)
