Sushi Garden is by far the best Japanese/Sushi restaurant I have found in Brighton. Far less gimmicky than Yo Sushi and less pretentious than Moshi Moshi, the restaurant is really lovely and full of character. In prime position near the top of Preston St (otherwise known as restaurant row), Sushi Garden is up against some stiff competition, with good restaurants all around. Despite this, Sushi Garden wins every time for me... The interior is amazing...they've really gone to town with the Japanese decor and they've done a great job! Japanese lanterns and prints hang everywhere, creating a really authentic backdrop and a really warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are all Japanese and wear traditional dress, which adds a lot to the experience. The food is both delicious and beautiful- presentation is impeccable, as is the service. I ate here in a big group back in May, and as far as I can remember everyone enjoyed their food. They do everything from the expected nigiri, maki, and sashimi to really interesting salads and tofu dishes. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Jelly fish salad! The gyoza come highly recommended, particularly the prawn, as does the Maki Aubergine. The sushi menu is exhaustive, with literally every kind of roll and combination platter you could think of. I can pretty much guarantee you won't be disappointed! There is also a vast selection of Bento boxes, ramen soups and udon noodle dishes, so if sushi isn't your thing, fear not!

I love the miso soup. I order the sashimi bibimbap lunch set. My friend get bibimbap lunch set. It is very valuable.

Awesome food. I came here for a friend's brithday, and although I am a sushi fan, had never really had any that didn't come from a chain restaurant. The quality of the fish and the care with which it had been prepared was obvious from the first bite, and it all tasted incredibly fresh. As well as the different sushi and sashimi dishes to order separately, there were a number of different bento boxes to try. There was also a good range of vegetable dishes - the kim chi is good. To drink, a range of cold and warm sake served in ceramic glasses was available, as well as the usual bottled beers and wines. The only thing stopping me giving this place the maximum five stars is the amount of time it took us to get served - there were about 15 of us, and it took around 2 hours (that's not an exaggeration!) for everyone to get their meal. But come in a couple or with 1 or 2 friends, and you'll be in sushi heaven.

Very good Sushi, very courteous staff. Not the cheapest Sushi place, but definitely one of the best Sushi experiences in Brighton.

Maybe you should try to not serve that much of dishes, because you can't handle that. If you are perfect with chicken, but serving rotten avocados, where is the point to go to Kokoro? You can spot black dots on the avocado when it's rotten, and trust me it smells really bad. Just because of that I can't go back to Kokoro, it's dangerous to get poisoned by food, plus, an avocado is easy to find in a fresh condition every morning, or maybe you're just trying to save money and buy then weekly? Shame if I'm right. Plus, I should say that the service is very rude, they are not smily, not funny, quite sad or mad at you, I don't even know why are you doing this job if you can't bare customers? And I think I got scammed because I'm not a native, because I was overpaid for noodles, so hopefully I know how to count my £ to avoid that :).

The layout is clean and simple - no frills, but still comfortable and modern. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The karaage was a generous portion given I ordered the 'side-dish/snack' version, and tasty. The creamy kimchi sauce was also yummy, although it was more mayo with a hint of kimchi - delicious, but as someone who loooves kimchi, it was a shame not to have something a teeny bit punchier because karaage and kimchi is a combination I could definitely get behind! Overall, great. I'm definitely going to pop in and try their gyozas at some point!

But no place in Brighton can conjure up a good takeaway Katsu. A dilemma. Then I found Sunoso (it just appeared on Just Eat. Like Asian Fusion magic). I had Katsu and some Karaage. The Katsu was incredible for takeaway Katsu. Easily the best I've had. Better than Pompoko, Itsu, Kokoro and Sushimania. It was light, tasty, non-greasy and with lots vegetables and a choice of either white or brown rice. Delivered within 30 mins. The Karaage was okay, very tasty but a tad dry. Could have done with a slice of lemon. Reasonably priced. Tempted to call my girlfriend and encourage her to stay away for another night.
