This place has incredible dim sum on weekends. Not too expensive either. The service could use some work, but the food is well worth it!

When we drove up to the restaurant on a Saturday at about 6:15 we were a little worried because there were not a lot of cars. The room was large but a little old and in need of a update. But we relied on the good review and sat down. We were greeted promptly and seated right away. We received a menu, a sushi menu and a dim sum menu (we later learned this was only on weekends). We sampled from each menu after a Kirin and a water. We enjoyed the first item, yellowtail sushi (nice size piece of fish), a hero roll, the freshwater eel ( nice size piece of fish). Then moved on to the special BBQ pork (dim sum menu), juicy and flavorful and had the sesame balls for desert. Yum, we enjoyed it all and got out of there for $41.00. Fabulous food. read more

So i was first surprised to discover this place, I mean i practically have been driving by it for years and never noticed it. Probably because i wasn't expecting to find a CHinese/Japanese/Thai place nestled near el Pollo Feliz and other Mexican restaurants in a heavily Hispanic neighborhood. I just wasn't expecting it i guess. The menu itself is reflective of this smorgasbord of cultures. It is a bit confusing to navigate but you understand that they serve Sushi as well as Thai an Chinese Dishes. I ordered a Thai Chicken of some kind and was pleased with the meal but would have been happier with a spicer meal or some chillies to make it so. The sushi was good quality and well priced. I wish i wasnt as much in a hurry the next time because this place is worth a look especially if you live on the south side and enjoy some sushi. Just tried this place for the first time today and the Dim Sum was awesome! The best I have tried in Tucson to date. Make sure to get there as early as possible though because the wait gets long due to their low number of staff members. read more

Although slightly skeptical when we drove up....sketchy neighborhood and few patrons (Sunday evening at 7:30).....we decided to give it a try - to our delight it was fabulous! I've been a few times for lunch. The service has been good each time, ample parking in the front and back of building. It is located in a unique place in that it is sandwiched between a Mexican grilled chicken place and a Mexican sno- cone place. Unless you know you're looking for it, you'll probably drive by and won't even notice it. My hands down favorite sushi spot in Tucson! The staff are extremely polite and welcoming. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. The food is delicious, the scallop dynamite roll is SUPERB! Sushi Lounge is super awesome, super fresh, super everything I want when I'm wanting super delicious SUSHI! They beat the HECK outta the sushi restaurants down here in SV, but that's not really a shocker. Their pricing is not painful and they have loads of fun appetizers, meal combos, platter selections galore. The salmon and tuna were the freshest, most flavorful sushi fish, ever! I was in heaven and so was my date!! The seaweed wrapper they use on their sushi rolls is not chewy or hard to get thru like some wraps. Their staff is very attentive and courteous, too! Very well priced and tasty, all things considered. Service was great, too. The avocado appetizer was excellent!! The spicy tuna and the spicy salmon rolls were good and the salmon nigiri was great. I tried this place about an hour before closing on a Sunday evening. It was just myself and another customer in the restaurant, and I enjoyed everything about this restaurant greatly. Lol... First time here. The portion of each dish is very small, especially the sticky rice chicken. Its even smaller then the size of my fist. Second, the chicken feet is terrible too. It has very strong refrigerator smell. Feel like it has been in the refrigerator for decade and they just reheated it for us. It has no taste other than the refrigerator taste. Third, the steamed rice noodle is super salty. I have to drink water between each bite. Its too salty to a point that taste bitter. Fourth, the egg tarte taste alright but the wrap is too thick. Lastly, the price is little too high for these such small portion comparing to other Chinese restaurant. The price is double than other restaurant but the portion is half of the other restaurant. I will never come back and never recommend to anyone. I dont understand why there still people coming here. This place has the best dim sum in Tucson! The prices, however, are pretty expensive. In addition, the service is very, very, very slow. This is because everything is made to order, instead of being pushed out on carts( traditional way of serving dimsum). All things considered, the food is fabulous. Our favorites are the shumai, soup dumplings, sesame balls, and char siu. Like I said, this place has the best dimsum in tucson, so I definitely recommend coming here! read more

Pretty much 711 sushi. Everything is filled with cucumbers and imitation crab. ordered 5 rolls and they were all very bland and tasted the same. Prob some of the worst sushi ive had. This place is mediocre, middle of the line. Probably good for Tucson, but not amazing by any means. Atmosphere: It wasn't terrible. It was kinda funny that as there were only two tables filled when I went, they had half the lights in the restaurant turned off. Another table came in and they turned the other side on. The sushi bar seemed fine. The soy sauce bottles were sticky. A fly constantly buzzed around my head throughout the meal. Food: I was disappointed. I got two rolls tempura'd, and you could tell that the oil hadn't been changed recently. The rolls were made well, but the oily/fishy taste made them lose half the points. I tried the sesame chicken as well. Very tasty, but half of the chicken was tough. Pricing: Pricing wasn't bad. 5-10 dollars for a roll, plus 2 dollars for tempura. The sesame and a drink brought the total to 35 bucks. Service: Service was commendable. Server did a great job of keeping the drink filled, virtually sprinted to get my order in and so forth. Admittedly, with only two tables, the service was as expected though. He did forget one of the rolls I ordered. Overall: The sticky bottles, and the fly killed the decor for me. The food had a chance at being awesome, but one of the rolls I ordered came out unassembled. Typically after tempura styling the rolls, they treat it as a normal roll. This place sent out all the stuff that was supposed to top the roll separate. The oil killed the flavor of the rolls. The sesame chicken sauce tasted amazing, but half the chicken was tough. So, overall experience, not a fantastic place to eat. But I wouldn't mind going back after getting bored with the other sushi places in the area. I'd certainly check out Saichiko first though. read more
