We started off with the gyozas, which were stellar, and the seaweed salad. Will list our full order below but was surprisingly a huge fan of the crazy monkey. The banana intrigued us and ended up being our favorite. Obviously can't go wrong with the volcano roll. The hibachi rice and yakisoba were also really good. By the time the last two rolls came out, we were stuffed but happy with all the choices we made. You can order the sushi's in batches instead of feeling pressured to do them all at once. Came here on Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too pack and got seated immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The restaurant itself was clean, roomy, and comfortable. You order directly through the server, and dishes come out as they're prepared. One thing we really enjoyed was the variety beyond just sushi. The portions were nicely sized, making it easy to sample different dishes without feeling overly full too fast. We enjoyed the salmon bowl, pepper tuna and yellowtail appetizers. My mother and I, planning a family get together, wanted to scope out different restaurants. The service was good and our waitress was wonderful, shy but attentive. The ambiance was friendly and relaxed, a little too bright for our tastes but overall good. Food was the issue. TLDR Mildew/mold in the fridge affecting taste of refrigerated items ie: salads, egg/fish eggs, fried items. They apologized and gave us a discount. We were excited as we dont usually branch out sushi wise and we were disappointed. The water was pretty chlorinated which is fine (most people dont notice it) but there was a subtle unpleasant aftertaste to it. No big deal I didn't come for the water. I came hungry, trying a handful of nigiris to taste the quality of the fish. They were what I expected for the price, midrange and totally acceptable. The salmon was a bit soft but the tuna was uniform (which I appreciate). I disagree with reviews saying the fish was too thin (its AYCE just get more) and that it was "tasteless" because it wasnt. When I got to trying the tobico however, I noticed that same taste amplified, entirely overwhelming the taste of the tobico. I spit it out and moved on, ordering the massago to see if it was just that dish and it wasnt. We tried a fried roll and there was that taste again. The seaweed salad was by far the worst offender. After discussing it, the cause was clear. Heavy mildew buildup (at the least which isnt uncommon) or mold in their fridge (at worst). We are the last people to ask for a manager but it was bad enough to say something about because it put us off the rest of the food. we were hoping we had come near the end of a clean cycle and asked if there was a better time to come but we didn't get a clear answer. We also own a restaurant and understand not everything can be the absolute freshest, when its busy sometimes you miss things, and also understand it might not even be their fault. This was our first time at Sushi Ohayo, and overall we had a great experience. The restaurant has a really nice vibe, and we especially loved the decorations. The sushi itself was pretty standard, nothing too extraordinary, but still satisfying. The sashimi was fresh, which we really appreciated, and the shrimp tempura was definitely a highlight--crispy, flavorful, and well done. That said, a few dishes like the cucumber salad and seaweed salad could use some improvement, as they didn't quite stand out compared to the rest of the meal. So when I saw all you can eat sushi I had to try out sushi ohayo. I do frequent a lot of sushi spots and I have to give it three stars for an honest review on the quality of sushi, but I understand that it is all you can eat and if top quality was expected, it would probably be significantly pricier. I say if you just want some casual sushi and you're hungry, it's worth it but if you're looking for a premium sushi experience, it's average. I personally enjoyed the sashimi and sushi appetizer options the most which were raw cuts of fish. But those options had limits on them, of course. The hibachi was not my favorite. The miso soup tasted store bought. However, it's very spacious, casual atmosphere and great for large parties and the servers are not hard to get a hold of when you would like to order more. read more

Was craving sushi and this place hit the spot! The hostess, waitress, entire staff were so friendly and attentive. Loved that there were plenty of seating and an area where you could watch the chefs prepare the sushi. We got several chef special rolls, sushi, appetizers, miso soup, salads, and hibachi entrees all you can eat for the price of $26.99 per person (and +$6 extra if you also choose to order unlimited sashimi). The quality of the fish was so incredibly fresh and melt in your mouth; there was no overly chewy texture nor fishy taste. The soups, entrees, and appetizers came out hot! We repeatedly ordered the hibachi steak, which was so tender and my absolute favorite entree. I've been to many spots but I believe this is the most affordable and best AYCE sushi deal in the DMV! We were craving sushi and decided to give this AYCE a try. For a Wednesday night, the restaurant was flowing with customers the entire time. Our server was very pleasant. You place your orders with a server and they are brought out as they are ready. We tried a little bit of everything. Pretty solid for an ayce spot, the sashimi add on is an awesome option and a must for me. I really like their apps, simpler rolls, and nigiri+sashimi. I love that they have white tuna - it's like a buttery version of their regular tuna. Their fish is always pretty fresh. I don't usually get their special rolls because they kind of skimp on real fish in those so it doesn't feel as worth it for me. If I want a roll I'll just get an eel avocado. I also like to just get their avocado 'salad' (it's literally just sliced avocado with a bit of eel sauce) which I'll eat with my eel nigiri. Also their hibachi is surprisingly solid! It is $27 for all you can eat for most items and a few more for all you can eat sashimi Relative to the cost, quality of sushi, entrees and appetizers, it is really good and consistent. I really loved the sushi appetizers and the hibachi steak. The desserts are a whipped cream concoction, cheesecake w/cake underneath, and ice cream. Personally, the ice cream was my favorite and it was one of those individual ice cream cups you get at the store. The service was top tier though. Our waitress always checked on us, knew our orders, and when there was something missing, we didn't notice, but she caught it immediately. While Sushi Ohayo is not the most quality sushi I've had, it's honestly very good for the price and variety that is offered for all you can eat. The service was really nice and friendly and the space is clean and spacious! This place was not that good. The fish was so thinly sliced on top of a mountain of rice that I couldn't taste it. The hibachi was not bad but nothing special. Located within the Shops at West Falls Church complex, next to the Safeway and Original Pancake House, this was a pleasant treat. For a Friday dinner, the wait was about 15 minutes for a party of 4. The host and staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the experience. They do offer for an additional $6 for the WHOLE table, you can get the unlimited sashimi option. As much as I wanted to go with that option, my kids just do not do sashimi, which they do not split that option. Once ordered, the appetizers were pretty quick to arrive to the table, but the sushi and stir-fry options took about 10-15 minutes. The portions are hefty so may need to pace yourself or you will be charged for any wasted food not consumed. The ambiance is great for a family dinner or with friends. I never leave bad reviews but wow. The food was horrible quality. I never expect amazing quality when it comes to all you can eat, but this was terrible. It didn't taste good at all and the texture was super weird as well. It's especially hard to mess up miso soup but it was messed up. The waitress was so annoyed at us when it was time to order. We ordered 5 things (all very small portions too) and she was trying to walk away after every single item we ordered. The ambiance was somewhat nice but the sushi chefs were staring people down and laughing at people too. This is our new favorite sushi place! The restaurant is large and airy, with plenty of booths, and pretty (but not overdone) decor. Everything was very clean. Our server was awesome! She was friendly, explained everything really well, and struck the perfect balance of being very attentive but also giving us space/not hovering. Onto the food. We had the seaweed salad, takoyaki, gyoza, sushi, and several different rolls. Just a note to set expectations- the gyoza was deep-fried, not pan-fried like in a lot of places. Not my thing, personally, but that's a matter of preference, not quality. Everything comes out very quickly; as in, if it's fried, do let it sit for a couple of minutes, otherwise, you will be blowing out steam from the takoyaki inferno in your mouth. It's a testament to how tasty it is that you'll still flirt with burning your mouth, because you can't wait to eat it. The quality of the fish was excellent. Eating out has become so expensive that it's hard to justify but this all you can eat Japanese food restaurant is a phenomenal value. For $33/adult ($25/kid 10 and under), you get unlimited sashimi, sushi, rolls, appetizers, noodles, hibachi, tempura, etc. They have a diverse menu and everything was decent if not good/great. You can pay less ($27 without sashimi) but I think you'd be really missing out because the sashimi fish quality was as or nearly as good as most places in the area and it's endless which is an incredible value. Having said that, if you're not a sashimi person, the rolls and appetizers were excellent and had lots of variety/creativity. Just be careful because you'll fill up quick!! Ambiance is pleasant with soft music, nice decor, and giant comfy booths. Service was friendly, efficient and no time limits. The only rule is you must eat what you order else you pay extra for any leftovers. There are also some reasonable item limits per person per order but you just keep ordering so it's fine and the servers come frequently. Drinks are extra but dessert is included. The only thing we had that was not so great was the grilled steak which was a touch overcooked but we will just order it less cooked next time. Also, while the sashimi is very good, it is not gourmet and the selection is limited. However, they have all the core fish you'd expect on a typical sashimi sampler which is what I usually order anyways. My biggest issue with sushi dining is walking away hungry because I only want the fish. Problem solved! Will definitely make this a regular fixture on our dining out rotation. read more
