Sushi Osawa is located off of Peachtree Pkwy in a huge plaza with Earthfare and The Flying Biscuit. We came here to try their lunch buffet for $15.95. Interior looks nicely decorated and very casual, but every table has a plastic basket with the white sheets of paper that you mark your order on - makes the restaurant look a little cheaper in my opinion. Service is decent. We were greeted immediately and brought waters without our asking for it. We had to ask for clarification on the way the lunch buffet works. You mark what you would like, give it to your server, and if you'd like to order more, just get another sheet of paper and give it to your server. Everything is made to order, there is no buffet line. Advice. If you know what you want, order it all together. It takes too long if you wait to order at different times. Also, whoever brought out our food would also bring us other tables' food and ask if we ordered it. So keep track of what you ordered because they almost missed some of our orders and we had to ask them to check on them. Food was very disappointing. We tried all of the appetizers offered with the lunch buffet, all of the individual sushi pieces except the crab stick, and the Atlanta Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Yellowtail Scallion Roll. The sushi tasted a tad slimy, and for some reason, all of the rolls tasted the same. The yellowtail scallion roll was very dry and hard. The Atlanta Roll is nothing special, not sure why it's called the Atlanta Roll since it kind of resembles a California Roll, but with fish. Honestly, the best thing about this meal was the cheese wonton that we ordered as dessert since the lunch buffet does not include dessert (dinner buffet does include dessert). We visited around 4 pm for a quick dinner and we were the ONLY people in the place. It was very much indoor dining, so if you're uncomfortable with sitting inside, I would recommend you wait to try Osawa. I was starving when I sat down, so I ordered a $2 miso soup without even looking at the menu. They had it ready, so it came out within seconds. IT was piping hot and so delicious! The sushi was really fresh! I ordered the Atlanta roll (tuna, avocado) and the asparagus avocado roll. The price is right and the sushi is fresh! This is one of our neighborhood favorites. All you can eat sushi that is not pre-prepared? I am in! The interior is nice. Open seating area. It usually has a good crowd, but I have never had to wait for a table. The crowd is casual and usually includes couples and families. Easy parking in a large lot. On my visits, service has been friendly, prompt, and attentive . Note - the menu recently has changed. The all you can eat menu is more limited, but in my opinion, is still a great deal. There are also limits on sashimi - 20 pieces per person. I don't usually eat that much sashimi anyway, so no problem here! I have always opted for the all you can eat menu, which allows a wide variety of appetizers, cooked items, sushi and sashimi. We always start with the edamame, which is pretty standard. One of my favorite appetizers - the yellowtail jalapeno recently has been removed from the menu. I am not sure if it is still available on the standard menu. It was a fantastic dish - the buttery fish went so well with the light soy and spice of the jalapeno. I'm really going to miss that one! We mostly order rolls and sashimi. All have been high quality, fresh and delicious! Our favorite roll is the new Godzilla roll (but then again, I am a sucker for anything fried). We are also fans of the Angry Dragon roll, the spicy tuna roll, and the crispy spicy salmon roll. There are some "penalties" for not eating all of your sushi, but I am not familiar with them - that has never been a problem for us! The yellowtail sashimi has been fantastic every time. The eel nigiri is also outstanding. We have a five year old who is not a complete fan of sushi yet, and he usually enjoys the California roll, chicken skewers, and fried rice. We almost always go with a group (which is well accommodated) so that we can try and share more items. Plus, you are more likely to get a boat when you go with friends! read more

I'm not a fan of Nori Nori or Tokyo Bay. They just aren't what I expect from high quality sushi buffets. That being said, my friend really hyped up Sushi Osawa for me. Located near the Forum and the huge Earth Fare, Sushi Osawa is tucked right beside the Flying Biscuit. Parking is no problem in this huge plaza. There are two menus: one for all you can eat ($22.95 for dinner and weekend lunch) and one for a la carte ordering. I believe it's cheaper for weekday lunches, but your options are much more limited. Of course we went for the all you can eat. You order as much as you'd like off the menu, and the server will bring out your selection, rather than the typical grab as much as you want at the buffet line. NOTE: as my friends have all recommended - order as much as you can in the first order, and place your order halfway through your first order of food, as the wait for the second order tends to take a little longer. The menu has a whole list of some fresh options, from sashimi to specialty rolls and appetizers. I didn't go for the hibachi, udon or fried rice options on the back, but they're included in the all you can eat price. You order a la carte sashimi by the piece - so of course I ordered a large amount of everything. The salmon and yellowtail were both very fresh, as were the tuna options. I don't prefer tuna, in general, but I was pleased with the white tuna offering. Service is slow, but I was ok with it, as the sashimi was fresh and the specialty rolls were tasty. I've tried a few of them and I'll have to say that the Angry Dragon and the Out of Control are the best ones. The soy paper tastes and feels funny in your mouth, so I don't recommend those. Dessert (as of 2/13/2016) now costs additional money, other than the green tea ice cream. Which is fine, since I love green tea ice cream. The ice cream isn't grainy as some others can be. The matcha powder sometimes overpowers the ice cream - in this case, it's just right. I got a chance to try the fried banana before they upped the price, and it was pretty tasty. Overall, this is probably my favorite all you can eat sushi establishments in Atlanta. Sushi Osawa can't compare to sushi found in the motherland, but that seems to be a general consensus. A solid 4 star sushi restaurant. Rumor has it that prices will be rising soon, so take advantage of the $22.95 price. It's a steal, for sure! read more

I like this place. I order the same thing most of the time and they are always consistent in the serving portion and quality of the food. I order the sushi and sashimi lunch and I think their price vs. the quality is accurate. I have zero complaints. Most of the time, I order delivery through door dash and I love the way this place packs their to-go sushi. I don't receive sushi that's all messed up from the ride because they make sure their containers are correctly sized and I like that. Great place to get all you can sushi. It is surprisingly very cheap and the food tastes great. The menu contains sushi, udon, appetizers, and hibachi. I would come here again for sure. Be aware that the nigiri is limited to only 10 pieces a person. Other than that enjoy this place to your heart content. Also be aware to just order what you can finish or else they will charge you extra for not finishing. I only ate the sushis only and I have to say that they are good. I also had their miso soup, seaweed salad, and tori karaage and they were all good. When we were seated we were given menus promptly. It's all you can eat for $24.95 and that includes sushi, sashimi, appetizers, hibachi, salads, everything on the menu unless otherwise stated like specific desserts. I got to try many kinds of items. I recommend bulk ordering- order a variety of items at one time because it is so busy so the service time is slow. And when you are halfway through with your food, go ahead order more food. But be careful not to overorder because they do charge for leftover untouched food. Everything I tried was great and of excellent quality. The servers were friendly and willing to answer questions. Nori Nori has all you can eat, high quality sushi too but the difference is Nori Nori lays out everything buffet style and you select and sit down to eat. Just alright! For AYCE sushi ? Very nice price for lunch under $15. They don't have the buffet style AYCE, everything is by order. They have 2 papers , one with kitchen items and the other paper is with sushi options. The only issue was that while filling out the sushi menu they didn't list what fillings and toppings were going to be in the rolls. So pretty much as your servers before just randomly ordering bc they have a strict no leftover policy. $.50 per pc of sushi !!! Crazy right. Service : our server was very knowledgeable. When we needed help we had to ask other servers and towards the end, when we were trying to get out check, one of the other younger female servers looked at us like we just cussed out her mom or something. A little Tiny piece of salmon surrounded with rice then the seaweed wrap. Simple as it gets. Dip with some spicy mayo and that's it. Fish was alright. I saw this place under Hot New Businesses on Yelp and had checked it out one day when I was wanting to feast on sushi without coughing up a fortune. It is located on Peachtree corners, across from the forum, and in the same plaza as Flying Buscuit. Went in and we had beat the rush hour for dinner, which made us grin looking at the wait behind us. We sat and ordered lot of hot dishes, thinking the sushi orders would take a long time. Maybe this was our fault from getting too full off of the hot dishes that we didn't care much for sushi. Hot foods were flying to our tables left and right. We started off with avocado salad, which had literally couple thin slices of avocado smothered in ginger dressing and layers of mixed greens that I didn't care for. Shrimp yakisoba tasted like it was just marinated in soy sauce and shrimp shumai tasted like they were from frozen packets that were heated up. I guess the only highlight was the veggie fried rice, which was good. Dismay to our intention of pigging out on sushi, our plate came out and found that we didn't order much. Out of the eel, white tuna, salmon, egg, squid, and octopus nigiri, only the eel was my favorite. We also ordered the Angry dragon and Out of this world roll. Angry dragon was overcooked and dry (fried shrimp tempera in the middle) and the other roll was okay. After all this, we wanted to order couple more nigiri but by the time server came around, the food was bloated in our tummies that we called it quits after their greentea ice cream that is included in the AYCE. The restaurant had plenty of parking in the strip mall and the inside was very spacious as well. I came with a party of 5 and everyone tried the all-you-can-eat/made-to-order menu except one person. The all-you-can-eat price is $26.95 which wasnt bad because it includes so much sushi and sashimi. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. I really liked her plus she was making us laugh so that's a plus! The food was GREAT! Everything was fresh and right off the stove. Who wouldn't love made to order. I tried so many items and they all tasted great ( Godzilla roll, calamari, seaweed salad, chicken hibachi, salmon, crispy spicey salmon roll, spring rolls). Also....If you do go to dine in on your birthday they give you 50% off which is really nice. Key Note: Only order what you can eat because whatever you waste they will charge you for it. Just don't be greedy. I definitely would reccomend this place to anyone, especially my sushi lovers. Not a huge deal other than it felt like knickle/diming us when the drinks have unlimited refills. I went back and looked and I've spent $1,488 in this restaurant over the years, but not a dime more. She stared at me blankly and then chuckled and said I can't swipe your card for .50$ it's a 5$ minimum. She said "so you don't have .50$ and I told her no that I didn't have any cash. It is located in a strip mall with other businesses so parking is plentiful. There was a lunch special 3 sushi rolls from a limited list plus soup and salad. Decided to go with that option since it seemed most feasible and would give me a chance to try a variety. I ordered the Shrimp tempura roll, Crunchy Crispy Spicy Salmon Roll, and the Kani cream cheese roll. The crispy spicy salmon was the best one. The sushi lacked flavor/seasoning so it was hard to enjoy. I'm thinking maybe I should have ordered a signature roll instead. Definitely won't give up on this place because there is potential. I usually come here for their unlimited sushi. It's priced at $27. It's not buffet style where you go around and pick whatever you want. There is an unlimited menu where you place your order with the waitress and she brings it out to you whenever it is done. There is also a regular menu where you pay for your sushi by the order. We came on a Monday night and was told that the specialty roll was buy one get one 50% off that night. The unlimited sushi menu review: I love coming here whenever I am craving sashimi. It's pretty fresh. You get a limit of only 15 pieces of sashimi per person that's eating the unlimited menu though. Their menu changed. They used to have the sushi pizza but they took it off. Their kani salad and seaweed salad is good. It's hard to go wrong there. Their baked mussel was hot and delicious. I also ordered the calamari and cheese wonton. Both did not disappoint. I especially enjoyed the cheese wonton. My favorite roll is probably the out of control roll. My friend ordered the batman roll she wasn't a huge fan of it. There is a limit on how many pieces of sushi you're allowed to throw away. I believe it's 8 per person. Anything over you get charged 20 cents? Don't quote me on that. There is not sushi buffet bar. I believe you can only get 15 pieces of the sashimi but no limit on the rolls. There was plenty to choose from. I love the fact that everything is made to order and not just sitting out for AYCE. The ambience is nice and you're greeted by friendly staff. Got here around 7 and it didn't get busy until 8 PM. Seems like most people order Togo, but eating in is always nice. Service was quick to check to see if everything was going well-the sushi took longer than the hot foods-so it's good to order starters and appetizers along with sushi and other foods you'd want to eat. Dinner prices go for 27$ per person for buffet and lunch buffet is $16 person. They offer sashimi for dinner and max per person is 15 slices (which is plenty) with all the other options. Takoyaki is an extra charge and so are their Mochi and fried icecream. My favorite rolls were the Osawa and the sunset roll. The omg salmon roll was also yummy and warm I'd especially recommend this for those who like cream cheese in their sushi. They also have hibachi, yakisoba, skewers, etc (check out the menu photo!) If anything-it's a bummer they only offer two types of soup-clear and miso soup. Tried both and they are mediocre. Other than that everything else was delicious. I loved the fact they didn't pile a lot of rice onto the sushi but we're more generous on the fillings of the sushi! Of course order as much as you can eat because leaving it will cost you. All you can eat Sushi Resto!! I'm a Nigiri + Sashimi typical fan but I was very impressed with some of their rolls! The "out of control" roll was exceptional. Loaded with raw & grilled (rare) delicious fish it just melted in your mouth. Quality was A++! Service was A+++ as well. At 1st it was very loud with some bratty kid screaming their lungs out - but when he took his parents home (finally) we were able to enjoy our dinner. We'll definitely be back. We had a family night with kids here last weekend as I was craving for sushi. The waitstaff was really friendly and accommodating to our needs. I opted for the AYCE myself and ordered two additional entrees and some appetizers for the family. The AYCE was great. One, it was nice not having to have everyone order AYCE on the table just because one person did. Also, the rolls I ordered were freshly prepared and not overbearingly sauced like other restaurants. The tuna and salmon sashimi were fresh as well and fairly thickly sliced. Of all the rolls I had, the 'out of control' roll and the 'angry dragon' roll were my favorites. I was stuffed with the above... I think next time I might just order the rolls by itself and it'd be enough. The other entrees we had were the beef noodle soup and the hibachi steak. The kids loved the udon noodle soup and the thick slices of beef on top. We were able to spilt that up for two kids as it was fairly well portioned. The hibachi steak came out tender, juicy, and flavorful. We topped the dinner off with some ice cream... the kids' favorite part of the meal. One side note, a big thanks to our waiter 'T' for keeping up with us and the kids as they were somewhat messy. He was very accommodating and helpful. I ordered their chicken Udon noodles, which came garnished with onion, carrot and chicken that were breast, sliced into small strips. Also, don't confuse the noodles with the Chicken udon soup. Nope, these noodles were not drowning in liquid. The noodles were thick, sometimes chewy, but unfortunately very, very greasy. So greasy in fact that I just couldn't give them 4 stars for that. It was a very heavy dish, but flavorful. Serving size was great, as the noodles could easily be shared between two people, but I didn't finish them after I ate half of it. Located in the Earth fare shopping center, right next to Flying biscuit, parking isn't usually bad, but during lunch, the entire lot can fill up...enough for you to have to walk a decent walk to get to the restaurant. Flavorless and overpriced. I went with friends and ordered the tempura chicken and vegetables. There was actually no seasoning. Zero. No salt. No pepper. No garlic. Nothing. Just batter on watery chicken. My friend's sushi also had little flavor due to no seasoning, as well. I ordered an iced tea, which costs the restaurant 6 cents to serve. They charged $3 for one medium-sized glass. It's also $3 for a Coke. Ripoff. Sushi is good, and their cooked food is very good too. Fresh rice every day. Creative dishes and rolls. Choice of five Ramune for the kids and variety of sake. The don't do AYCE any longer but family platter still a good deal.
