    Eel Sushi a la cart
    Jason A.

The food is always fresh and flavorful. Overall, the assortment of rolls are varied and really tasty. I also love their hot food. The chicken teriyaki (which is on a secret menu) and their shrimp fried rice and hibachi are all amongst my favorite. I do enjoy the sushi, but the a la cart is significantly overpriced (over $12 for 3 pieces). The meals, like sushi delight are reasonably priced however I hate that the only options for the roll that's included is cooked rolls. However the staff are super friendly and will typically let you sub it out. Speaking of the staff; they are all genuinely kind and friendly and really accommodating. I'm still frustrated over how expensive this restaurant has gotten, but it's honestly much better than the other sushi restaurants in the area

As a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for sushi spots that try to elevate the classic vegetable maki options. I was pleased to find a few such options on the Sushi Q menu. The Yasai Maki Roll uniquely combines seaweed salad atop a mushroom, sweet potato, avocado roll. It's tasty but the salad struggles to stay atop the pieces. The Garden Roll adds sliced mango to elevate the mixed vegetable roll, which adds an element of mellow sweetness to the bite. Overall, another solid sushi spot in the Ellicott City area, albeit with a higher price point than some others in the region.

This review is long overdue but I have been coming to this particular location out of all the Sushi Q's for the past year. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Sushi Q Normandy is in a shopping center off of Rt.40 at the beginning of Ellicott City. Growing up in Baltimore, I have seen so many changes in this area so I didn't come to this shopping center often but now I'm here twice a month for sushi. My guy and I usually dine in but have also done takeout many times as well. He has his go-to favorite which is the Rt. 40 but I on the other hand have tried various rolls and have a list of my faves: Hollywood Crazy Lou Ocean City Rt.40 Catonsville Millennium Smart Philly Tiger Roll Raven Scallop Dynamite Ginger Scallop All Amazing! When dining in, we are given soup and their signature appetizer which we love so much, order it for takeout as well. After sushi we're then given a complimentary cheesecake-like dessert. There are so many other items we want to try but we just love the sushi so much, we're always torn every visit. Outstanding service at this quiet restaurant for lunch or dinner.

We had a wonderful dinner here, so here is a quick update. We got an eel roll, angry a lobster roll, and a Chiarashi bowl. My favorite was the Chirashi bowl, bc it has everything I like: fresh, beautiful shashimi, grilled scallops, and tempura shrimp with sushi rice. The service is nice and friendly. It is a great value, bc the meal comes with complimentary fried crab stick appetizer and cheesecake dessert. We really enjoy this place and will be back soon.

Inexpensive sushi spot that hits when you have a sushi craving! This is just one of their many locations in Maryland. Other locations include Jessup, Elkridge, etc. Service was quick and attentive despite it being pretty busy on a Sunday night. Additionally, they give a free appetizer that's essentially a small deep fried crab meat dish and small pieces of cheesecake for dessert. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend to others for dine in or carry out. Rolls pictured: Spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy California, sweet potato, eel crunchy, and spicy tempura roll

This is a great place to get sushi. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quickly. There is a full bar and the drinks are reasonably priced. There is a good variety of sushi options and specialty rolls. They also offer all the traditional dishes such as hibachi, udon, fried rice, etc.

A fan of Sushi Q2 in Owings Mills, this was my first time visiting this restaurant. The restaurant is located in a shopping strip off of Route 40. Upon entering, my friends and I were led to a booth and given menus. After asking about any specials, we made our orders. I opted for the Route 40 roll and 151 Fire roll. My friends ordered rolls and fried rice. One thing I looooove about any Sushi Q restaurant are the complimentary appetizers. Dependent upon how much you order, the restaurant will give you a miso soup and fried roll free of charge.* The rolls were delicious. We each oohed and ahhed over the true presentation of the 151 Fire roll. One of my companions did say the fried rice was lukewarm but she did enjoy the taste. I look forward to subbing here again.

My first time at this location. We dined in and had a good experience - nice service, good food, and they continued their free app and cheesecake tradition at this location. We ordered the dynamite, scallop dynamite, raven, and spicy California rolls. All delicious.

    Spicy girl roll

Nice, fresh and clean. Got some octopus, mackerel salmon and a spicy girl roll. All well executed. Will go back if I am in the area again

I've been to their elkridge location first and glad they opened a location in Ellicott! Their lunch specials are great deals! Their sushi is pretty good! It's a decent size and quality. The Wayne roll is pretty good (seems like a copy of yuraku's wayne roll shh). We love the salad and miso that comes with the sushi. We also love the fried imitation grab appetizer. We also love getting their pork katsu - its available on the lunch special and as a dinner portion. The lunch portion you get one piece of fried pork, but the normal entree size you get 2 pieces of pork. Well worth the normal price. It comes with 2 sauces and a seaweed salad and a choice of a bowl of white rice or fried rice (of course we enjoy their fried rice!). It's a great sushi place with decent sized rolls, great pork katsu, and a decent price. You wont leave hungry!

Miso soup , not a lot of tofu :( but still good .

I loveeee sushi , and this place was nice cute . I would have went on a date but I'm single lmao . The calamari was also served with fried zucchini , kind of bland but the sauce made it better . By the third glass of wine I was fine . I ordered the Dinosaur roll, which was good but I rather it with out the smoked salmon . Raw is always better to me . I always got my fav yellowtail roll is was spicy but satisfying. Service was AMAZING , well attentive . I would go again P.s the side dish was given to me , idk why but it was ok . It was some sort of flash fried crab with sauce on top .

Solid spot for a weeknight meal and great lunch specials. This is part of the Sushi Q chain. They have locations all over Howard County and seem to keep the same consistency at every restaurant. This one is located in the newly renovated Normandy Shopping center. Parking lot can get a little crazy at times so be patient when looking for a space. I have been here a few and it never disappoints. The lunch menu prices are great and the dinner prices are just a little bit more. If you like reasonably priced sushi you will enjoy it here. Not a super large menu for other options. They do serve hibachi and Japanese fried rice as well. I came for the sushi. Service was great. As soon as I walked in I was seated and the waitress took my order. I got some edamame for a appetizer along with a Fat tire beer. For my entree I ordered the triple spicy Maki. It come with a side of miso soup and a house salad. You could even upgrade to a seaweed salad for a slight up charge. The three rolls that came in in were a spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy California roll. Everything was great. I will definitely be back again.

Finally, we got a piece of harissa on our way out and it was decent (just a little too cold for my liking). Our waitress was nice and attentive. The ambiance is cute. It was getting really busy too when we were leaving so I'd recommend making reservations. Overall, I think the place really caters to Americans and not people from the region.

So the flight was for different ice lattes paired with a pastry, which was a croissant a Blondie brownie, a macaroon and lastly.strawberry cake for $25. It took a while for the flight to be prepared because I think they're a little bit shortstaffed on a Monday morning, but they had a lot of comfortable places to sit and wait. The corn beef sandwich came out good and I mentioned it was simple because it's literally just corn beef with some white bread and some cheese, but it was actually pretty tasty for breakfast. The coffee flight came out and it's on a large paddle and it looked really delicious. I have to say the regular flavored lattes and the croissant weren't my favorite choices, but as I started moving down the paddleboard towards flavored lattes and the Blondi bar, it was pretty good. My favorite latte was the butter beer and my favorite pastry actually turned out to be the Blondie brownie bar. The inside has enough seating for about 50 people and it's really cutely decorated. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the mood for a coffee after a day of shopping in Ellicott city.

There were 6 of us, and they were able to put two tables together to accommodate us. I was overall disappointed with the food. The waffle which I paid $5 for was super small and there were just chunks of sugar in it. I also ordered scrambled eggs with spinach and cheese. The spinach came out on the side of the eggs and was uncooked. The cheese was not melted, and the eggs were burnt (dark brown and dry). The waitress was kind enough to take the eggs back for the cheese and spinach to be mixed/melted. They were still burnt and flavorless. I picked around and ate what I could. I also ordered some kind of spinach and feta pastry from the front case, which was good. We also all enjoyed the homefries which were crispy with a unique seasoning. We ordered the stuffed french toast which had a great flavor, but it wasn't really stuffed, there were just toppings on it. My nephew ordered the chicken and waffles. He's 15. I'm guessing that waitress assumed he was a kid and gave him the kids portion. Either way, the fried chicken looked like two pieces of frozen chicken schnitzel. My mother ordered the Reuben and did not like it at all because it lacked flavor.

Of course we go during the weekday 11-3 lunch special for a couple dollars off the combos, and even though the falafel isn't listed in the special, the staff kindly gave us the discount! The falafel was hot and flavorful, moist inside with a thin crispy outer layer, in a delicious grilled flatbread roll, with some chopped veggies and sauce inside. We asked for and received extra tahini sauce, which is the right way to get this sandwich. We also got a flavorful beef shawarma, which i have reviewed before. The sandwiches took about 15 minutes because they prepare them fresh. The combos come with piping-hot boardwalk-style fries, this time in an old-school small paper bag. We did notice that a number of people call in their order ahead of time, which would save you the wait. This time for a beverage we got the yogurt drink called Ar-yan, self serve from their beverage cooler: slightly tart and slightly salty. That's a nice beverage with this sandwich. We ordered a Turkish coffee after lunch. It was brewed and delivered in a small traditional hammered-copper "chez-ve" cezve pot heated in a tray of sand. The flavor was lovely. It was not as strong as we expected. It did not seem to have grounds in it, but I dont know if it was the way it was prepared or the way we poured it. It was served with paper cups, and would've been nice in ceramic or glass. And we added a fresh sweet chunky pistachio baklava. A yummy not-overly-honeyed treat. The restaurant has plenty of seating, including some out front, and a cushioned sofa near the coffee and pastries. There's plenty of parking in a lot that is shared with the laundromat next-door. There's two disabled spots at the north end of the lot with a ramp up to the restaurant level. You enter the lot from the westbound lanes of US-40 Baltimore National Pike, between Rogers Av and US-29. Abu Shawarma serves delicious food in a bright clean welcoming space.
