Repeat visits have confirmed my initial impression of Su Life: the people make good food, but they…read morearen't actually that good at running a restaurant. They've opened late on me once, and another time they asked me to sit outside so they could leave and lock the door (I hope they picked up my plate later), even though it really wasn't that bad of a time (before 2:00). They are not big on staying open outside a very narrow range of hours. They also charge extra for rice, and managed to sell me a dish without reminding me of that only to have me rustle up change to pay for some rice once my dinner arrived without it. Their beaten up tables and tiny space offer little in the way of ambiance. But if you want a good fried tofu dish, you won't be disappointed. All the things I've ordered have been tasty, notably a sizzling tofu in black pepper sauce that did indeed sizzle nicely. They have plenty of other dishes that I would want to try, and no one's more of a sucker for all-vegetarian Asian restaurants than I am. Luckily for them, I sometimes have business in the area, so I probably will continue to eat here on occasion. That being said, I don't see how I can rate them any better than this, even though I do enjoy the food, as their prices are not low, and they have not got much else going for them.

Call it what you may, it has always been the deal breaker with my love for meat. Should I ever decide that it was time for me to go vegetarian, it would be because of tofu. I was raised on soy products being from Malaysian heritage... so it should really come as no surprise that everything from soft tofu cooked broth to your agedashi fried tofu to you hot pot tofu to you egg tofu, are all things that I have had many a love affair with. Sometimes at the same time (tsk tsk). So when I met Su Life, an instant bond took affect. There is nothing better than tofu than tofu imitating meat. How good is it to order some barbeque chinese pork (char siu) and have it come out, looking so delicious with its red tingy edges marinaded to perfection. How yummy it tastes when you have the first bite. How delightful when you know it's vegetarian tofu imitating pork so well you can hardly tell the truth. Su Life was that for me, they do the non-meats so well sometimes the texture is astounding...especially the fish. Looks just like it. Could have fooled me, and the idiot meat eater sitting on the next table thinking he was actually eating meat. Surprise! What a surprise Su Life was Yelpers. It may not be much to look at, but boy can it provide meat with a good run for its money.

Wow it's been a long while since I stumbled on this place…read more It's as good as ever. Stopped in for brunch. The Breakfast Bun was delicious, tasty and filling. The Yumington was a sweet breakfast treat that filled the brunch craving. Coffee was excellent and worked well with brunch. Not too bitter - a Goldilocks blend, just right. The decor seems the same from all those years back. It's got a good atmosphere so why change what seems to work. As I said good as ever.

Located at the back of an industrial area near Springwood, this hidden gem of a coffee place is well worth the visit. You will return time and time again. Apart from the amazing range of gourmet food, their house blend 'Gratitude' coffee which is roasted and produced on-site is to die for. Extraction caters for all dietary needs, and it is very proud of the fact that it uses and respects sustainable practices. I love the way that it supports local industries including the dairy and meat farmers. I also love the fact that the staff are continually being involved in community events, and they excel in the way they give back to the community and inspire their customers to do the same. You feel like family. Ordering at the counter is fast and helpful and the table service is amazing. Everyone is so friendly, and continually making your dining experience wonderful. Coffee, friends, food and good times are the essences of Extraction. There are so many different places to sit and enjoy reasonably-priced coffee and food. Large, small and medium tables are surrounded by couches and antique chairs. The decor is eclectic but not pretentious. Apart from the exquisite range of coffee, Extraction also has their amazing range of cold drip coffee plus a huge assortment of tea if that's your thing. Go and try Extraction Artisan Coffee. It's a great place to meet people, relax, chill out and enjoy yourself surrounded by friendly and attentive staff. And on a personal note, for breakfast, you can't go past the vast array of choices, but for this man, the scrambled eggs are done to perfection and the locally produced bacon is exquisite. I love this quote from their online menu which really sums up the whole Extraction experience: "Sharing food and enjoying coffee together is the equivalent of saying you matter."

Interesting how there isn't a review yet for this place…read more My family has been coming here for years, especially my parents. The Chinese food here is authentic Cantonese style. My parents like to order their steamed fish which isn't cheap but it is so good. The "sang choy bao" or lettuce wraps are really good, very flavorful, and there usually isn't enough of it to go around. I want at least 2 cups but usually, there is only 1 for each person. The thin fried noodles (vegetarian) -- "see yau wong chow meen" -- is stellar! Perfectly dry like it should be and flavor-packed. The only thing I didn't love was the crispy skin chicken. The skin wasn't really crispy. Each time I go home, this is one of those restaurants where we will go for at least one meal. It's good to know that it's remained consistent through the years.

Here's why: - Warm welcome from the charming and funny manager upon entry. - Were introduced to George the fish (we sat next to his tank). - Very friendly, smiling wait staff had nice chats with us whenever they brought something to the table. - Complimentary prawn crackers were served as a starter while we perused the menu. - They make the best salt and pepper tofu ever (speaking as someone who doesn't usually like tofu). - Delicious braised chicken with cashews and sizzling Mongolian beef. Best in town! - Nice atmosphere and full of happy diners having the best time!

Looking at past reviews here I guess it was time for an update!…read more They've changed the usual way of ordering at Vapiano: rather than the chefs cooking the pasta in front of you, everyone is to order at the cashier and receive a table number/sensor to bring to the table they decide to sit at. I do not mind this way at all, if anything it makes it more safer and efficient for staff to deliver the food rather than everyone trying to bring trays of food and drinks up and down the stairs. Met up with my gfs for dinner tonight - Ordered a roasted veggie pizza and my gf got a margarita pizza and creamy mushroom pasta. Not lying but I added pepper, olive oil, fresh basil leaves and salt to my pizza and it still had the audacity to taste bland ? I'm not a salt person but I did end up reaching for the salt 3 times over and it still wasn't a flavorful pizza....my friend agreed and did the same with her pasta. The complimentary bread also tasted like it was undercooked unfortunately- usually it's on point. Nothing wrong with the service, timing, ambience at all ! Just really put down from the food tonight sadly!

Actually delicious…read more Their vegetarian/vegan options are actually so amazing. We ordered the a starter dish without meat and received a whole bowl of mixed olives and sun dried tomatoes. Every bite had me wondering if the ingredients were grown in the garden of Eden itself. Tasting the olives was like kissing the lips of Jesus himself. I really didn't mind them cooking the pasta in front of me. (Apart from the little voice in my head that kept questioning why their pasta made me salivate in ways my home cooked food can't). The place upstairs is really aesthetically pleasing by its fresh decor and hydroponic basil plantation. Also, unsure if the basil pots are there as decor or to eat??? But my partner are 7 pots while we were drunk. ;) shhhh.
