This is one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in my life! The fish was so fresh and tasty, the atmosphere was nice, and the restaurant was so clean! Our waiter, Johnny, was very kind and attentive and made our experience that much more enjoyable. I recommend this place to anyone who likes good food and vibes.

Little rice roll with the tasty sauce, six-three roll, MJ roll, pink lady

Little Rice Roll - Amazing as always, we really enjoy the sauce it comes with Pink Lady Roll - good! M. J. Roll - fresh and yummy. The yellowtail was really good. I liked that the spicy mayo was on the side (I prefer without spicy mayo but my fiancé loves it, so I really liked the option on the side for that roll) Six-three Roll - tried it for the first time and we LOVED it, fresh and tasty! Great quality sushi in BR. Service is excellent! We enjoy dining each time, also take out quality is good too!

It's the best sushi in town. It's amazing every single time. I've eaten everywhere for sushi. I do wish the rolls could be smaller sizes like the NYC and the west coast bc it makes it hard to eat, but everyone makes huge rolls in this area.

    Asahi Beer

Hidden gem in Baton Rouge. A lowkey, bar hall vibe with long tables and all glasses served in mugs. You walk in and it feels like a warm hug. Excellent pork gyoza (the shrimp is fantastic too). Very delicious and well made sushi. We had the chicken katsu as well and it didn't disappoint. What i loved most is that they serve large Asahi beers (one of the only places in BR that has Asahi). I can't wait to go back.

Sushi Yama is a great choice for sushi lovers in Baton Rouge! While the prices are slightly higher than other nearby restaurants, the quality is absolutely stellar. Note that you also receive a delicious cucumber salad before your meal and pieces of pineapple when you receive your bill. If you have a chance to sit at the sushi bar, you'll be amazed to see how quickly the sushi chefs work while you wait for them to work on your order. The service here was fantastic as well. As a party of two, we were in and out in slightly less than an hour (enjoyed an appetizer and shared a few rolls). The inside doesn't look like much, but it's simplistic and clean - very on point to what you would find in Japan. Don't let that fool you! Note that they don't take reservations, but you can always call to see how long of a wait there is!

Great place with delicious sushi. As others have noted, there's a free little cucumber vinegar salad to start and pineapple triangles at the end. Service was very nice. Ample parking. I ordered a tuna appetizer as my entree and will say I expected more for $34. Overall I would return and order rolls instead.

You have to try the george roll!! SO delicious if you like spicy tuna. Service was great. Definitely a place you could go for lunch or for dinner.

The sushi was SUPER fresh! Great quality. Definitely on the extra pricy side.. three rolls was $80+ with no drink in that price. Worth it for my first visit to Baton Rouge tho. Server was very friendly, sushi felt like it took a while to get but it was a pretty busy night and we weren't in a rush. I liked that they gave you pineapple with your bill!

Sushi lovers rejoice - sushi Yama has a fantastic offering of rolls. While very pricey, you can tell the fish is quality and the rolls are HUGE and one roll is a meal on its own. Love that their dishes really highlight the fish and offer diverse options.

Best sushi rolls and the most authentic Japanese food in the area. Service is always great. I think the rainbow roll is my favorite.

The sushi is hands down the best in Baton Rouge. I've eaten sushi all over the US, and nothing compares in my opinion!

Unless Dj is working do not even bother going…read more Everytime my boyfriend and I go we typically spend $150-200+ and every single time without fail we always get the worst service ever. Tonight we got there around 8:15-8:30 (we got seated outside) and got forgotten for 15 minutes, no greeting no drinks (mind you it was not busy). Finally a server came, we ordered drinks/appetizers. when the appetizers came out we realized we didn't have sauces on the table. When we asked for them we got responded with "oh like you want them togo" which we politely responded "no we would like the sauces for our appetizers and when we get our food". We finally get our food only to realize one my boyfriend's ramen is incorrect and that he is missing an add on egg. We didn't see our server for a while so we asked another server to go get ours. We are also pretty easy going people and I am in the service industry so I understand how it is but tell me why one of the workers are slinging outside chairs (loudly) around and sweeping at 9:15 while there are three other tables enjoying their food? To top it all my boyfriend paid the bill and didn't receive his card back. Instead we received someone else's paid ticket from a different table and still no card. Again could not find our server so we asked another server to go find ours. While in the midst of trying to get our server another one of the workers asked what was wrong with the bill, which we tried to explain that the bill we received back was not our bill and that we are missing a card. She still didn't understand and said "what is the bill too expensive?" (Which is funny because the already paid bill of SOMEONE ELSES was way cheaper than ours.). After finding our waiter we finally got his card back. Not to mention another time we went we got charged $56 for two dragon drinks when it was supposed to be around $36. And another time where we showed up an hour and a half before they closed...waited 30 minutes to be seated on a slow night...took 15 minutes for drinks..another 20 for food and rushed out by turning the lights on and cutting the music off. Another time by a different server reaching over my boyfriend to collect the sauces that we were still using. I mean the list goes on It is such a shame because we genuinely love the food there but after going there so many times and stuff like this happens why waste your money? Definitely our last time coming unless they change.
