Food is delicious, I would always make sure to compliment the chefs my telling them the food is amazing before departing. I loved it here. I would come here every weekend with my wife. It just took one bad experience back in late December 2024 to never come back here again. It was an evening out with my wife to celebrate her birthday with a delicious meal. Our waitress was rude to me, I could sense a real hatred from her towards me. She was chatty with my wife but rolled her eyes, gave me filthy looks and threw the bill at me when I was being kind to her all evening. Not sure what I did to trigger the waitress, did I smile wrong when I ordered? Did you just not want to work that evening and take it out on your guests? If I did I'm so sorry miss waitress. So sorry I came here to celebrate what should have been a special evening. No matter how delicious the food was, we left with a bitter taste. We never will come back here, and I'm not going to contact the business owner to rectify it. I've seen the owner greet customers, seems like a good guy and I've even thanked him many times when leaving. Just some advice; Screen your staff better. Take the L here -- the waitress represents your restaurant and she screwed up, and you lost loyal customers. I'm not risking another experience like this. Great place to sit on the outside sidewalk terrace and people watch as there's always a fun crowd at this casual chic sushi restaurant in the heart of Sunset Plaza. They have more private seating inside and a sushi bar as well. My favorite is still the spicy tuna on crispy rice. Excellent service by sweet servers. So we were patient understanding that she isn't superwoman, but by the time she got our order she hadn't even fully gotten it correct. Ordered two miso soups, edamame, sashimi and 3 rolls. The edamame came rather fast, then it took 30 minutes for the first roll to come. 45 min for the sashimi. And as of now we're still waiting on 2 rolls and she said she didn't write down miso soups. I've worked in the restaurant industry myself, and even as a hostess I would run water if it was taking too long -- that's just basic customer service. Came here recently with a mentor of mine who is like family (Hes a regular here), so brandy knew exactly which table to show me to. Apparently he has his own table- that's pretty awesome. Anyhow, the food is good here. The fish is very fresh and the menu is quite vast (lots to choose from). Sashimi melts in your mouth- delicious... can't go wrong with hamachi, tuna, and salmon. Had a date night with my hubby tonight and we chose to have it at Sushiya On Sunset. This place has ample parking in the back and it's free! We decided on Sushiya because they had plenty of outdoor seating facing Sunset Boulevard giving us plenty to look at and the beautiful sunsets. The hostess was able to seat us upon arrival and the waitress came soon after to take our drink orders, I ordered the passion martini and my husband just a coke. We also put in our food orders of chicken fried rice and beef fried noodles. My drink arrived chilled and tasted great. Our food arrived soon after and everything tasted wonderful. The waitress made sure to come by on a couple of occasions to see if we needed any thing. Love the area where I lived and am critical of establishments that have gone wrong in the area. This sushi is great, I have ordered all the fish and random sides every time and it never disappoints. Covid19 outdoor dining experience review: I just want to start off by saying that yes, it was Saturday night but let me tell you how slow and inattentive the servers are. We sat there for about 20-30 mins before we raised our hands and made eye contact with a server for them to come to us. We had no water on the table and no one had realized that. Anyways, the food comes and it's mediocre at its best. We had a few rolls, shu mai, seared scallop sashimi, salmon sashimi and mochi for dessert. The mochi though... you know how it's suppose to be soft on the outside and ice cream on the inside? Well it's not soft on the outside and it's definitely didn't taste fresh. Who knows how long it's been in the fridge. Only good thing about this place is it's pet friendly and there's ample parking spots in the parking lot behind the restaurants. read more
