Walking into Sushiya is like exhaling a deep breath. The ambience is relaxingly immersive with its cherry blossoms, subtle yet colorful lighting, cozy tables, and warm welcome. The servers we had today were friendly and quick. Our bento boxes came out on the heels of our appetizers, piping hot and plentiful. My chicken teriyaki was juicy and tender, not always easy to accomplish with chicken breast. The chicken was on a bed of onions with plenty of sauce. My husband's meal was similar but he ordered beef. We were both really surprised at the amount of food we received for 1 main and 2 sides lunch portions! In addition to our proteins, we both ordered tempura shrimp - there were 6 full shrimp! A full order of edamame came out - not just a few as I'd expect as part of a box - but a full order! Same with his Cali Rolls - a full 12 pieces! Wow - what an exceptional amount of delicious food! I mean, quantity is one thing, but this food was plentiful and deeeelicious! First impressions are everything! We ordered cokes and they brought us a can, like we went to a roadside shack,? And that was just the start! The teriyaki chicken tastes like boiled chicken meat with a little sauce on it! The sushi was warm with thick ball of rice , that I had to cut and half with a fork, A lot of the sushi on the menu is chef's choice meaning the chef to choose what you get to eat! Why would you spend over a hundred bucks and not get to choose?? The sashimi salad had dressing that tasted like it was from a cheap Italian restaurant, The food was so bad we couldn't eat most of it so I took it home for my dog, and even he raised nose! Sushiya is now tied for my #1 favorite sushi spot within a 10 mile radius. I've had the pleasure of eating here twice now, and both times were absolutely amazing! I've lost track of how many things we've tried here, but I've included some of the greatest hits in my photos below. We'll start with my favorite. The "Super Dragon" roll is one of the best rolls I've ever had. There is SO much delicious eel meat packed on top, not to mention the other additions of spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, crab and avocado all packed into one roll. Glorious. It was also beautifully plated, I mean just look at it! So filling, so flavorful, a 10/10. The Yellowtail Jalapeño Carpaccio was raved about by my (quite picky) sister and I finally got to try it recently. It definitely lives up to the hype. The yellowtail itself is fresh, and all other elements of the dish seem very thought out and meld together perfectly. There's a vinegar-based sauce at the bottom that enhances the flavor of the fish without overpowering it. The addition of micro greens and sliced jalapeño adds a different kind of freshness that makes for a perfect bite with the fish. There's too little masago/caviar on top for it to really impact the taste, but it does look lovely! The spam musubi was so tasty, as was the Hot Pink roll. Another favorite is the Flaming Yellowtail roll (I don't know if that's the exact name) which literally comes to the table in flames. Amazing. The food itself is stellar, but the interior of the restaurant itself just adds that extra touch that makes you want to come back again and again. I'm a sucker for a dimly-lit restaurant with ambient lighting and tasteful decor, and Sushiya certainly delivers in that area. You almost feel as though you're IN Japan with the way they've done up the place. My personal favorite touch is the cherry-blossom terrace that sits above the back portion of the restaurant. I can't recommend Sushiya enough to anyone considering stopping by. If you love sushi, you'll love Sushiya. read more

Been coming here for a few weeks literally live down the street I'm a huge sushi sashimi fan :) came here for the 3rd time (ps i drop at least 100 on myself every time, any place ) service is good as expected I was treated w good drinks and hospitality but as soon as brought up a different place that I also eat at and request a slightly thicker slice of toro they add a little diamond cut on top of a re order decide for the 3rd ( cuz i liked it ) but when it came time to eat this tiny diamond of a cut they decide to add fine white hair (who know tho ill give them a chance but idk seems suspicious after I completely complained so I then chose not to at this point and not even bother so i asked for check and pay for the whole thing not gonna lie i was so disappointed I really liked this place and wanted to try everything before bringing back a date or someone important ..now idk after leaving this comment i can even be trusted back.. ill miss y'all friendly people in the front read more
