It's in a gorgeous timber framed building, with lots of books downstairs, and arts and crafts in a couple of rooms upstairs. The downstairs includes a children's area complete with a rocking horse for kids to play on. Upstairs is worth visiting to see the character full rooms, but you also get a nicely chosen range of art materials, plus some finished work for sale. Staff are lovely too. I last visited on a sunny day and they had the door and upstairs windows thrown open, letting in the light and breezes. Lovely.

A mixture of modern and old stuff, with a great line in antique garden furniture. Want a hundred year old galvanised iron watering can? This is your place. I wasn't really sure what my mum would make of getting her one for Christmas reading 'Beware of the old woman'. You can find blue & white china, garden furniture, old watering cans, original eiderdowns, lots and lots of things to hang on the wall, ornamental items, new and old its all there. I fully recommend you go, browse, rummage and enjoy even if you leave without buying anything. The lady who runs it is always there and at peak times like christmas you will find her open till late in the night - great for that last minute gift.

Besides a…read morelovely collection of clothes (last time there were lots of posh party frocks and a Hard Rock Café leather jacket for £50), they have some great bric-a-brac shelves. I've found some real bargains here: prices are often cheaper than in London charity shops. For instance on a recent trip I spotted ginger jars for £2.50 each. They also have some lovely carved wooden first-hand stuff. Kids mini jigsaws and money boxes with little carved animals on them. Lovely and very reasonably priced. In the back they have a book nook. It has to be described that way: nice neat shelves and a central padded bench were you can sit and read if you wish. The staff are friendly, and I defy anyone not to find something of interest.
