Garlic Edamame was so addictive, almost finished the entire plate without even realizing. Ordered the Ramen Deluxe and a Tuna Avo poke. The ramen tasted really good with a rich smooth broth which also balances out the meat and egg from the bowl. The Tuna poke lacked a bit of flavor; would prefer more mirin/umami perhaps. Poke provided fresh tuna and avocado, just the flavor profile was a bit lacking. Everything else I thoroughly enjoyed. This noodle shop is small, a crowd formed near the door.

Freaking epic ramen. A small place on the corner full of people and for good reason. Their spicy pork ramen, Tantan, was absolutely delectable, bursting with freakin' flavor (highly recommend adding the black garlic oil if you're a garlic fiend like myself). The Veggie Miso ramen offers a much milder taste, but still satisfying and full of rich umami flavor. The Takoyaki, oh my god maybe the best takoyaki I've ever had. Nice crisp outside, soft inside, and topped generously. Nice curated selection of beer and sake. Our waitress was fab, always quick on refilling waters and so friendly. Prices are pretty fair too, dinner for two with drinks and appetizer came out to less than $70. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Tiny hole in the wall ramen joint in a more lowkey residential part of Astoria. It is very easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. There are a few tables inside but I do not recommend for large groups. I got their paitan ramen which is chicken broth based with a unique twist on chashu (leaner cut with a chew similar to ham). The broth is satisfying, not heavy and did not leave me bloated. The noodles were chewy and is the wavy thick style. I also appreciated how it comes with a full softboiled egg by default (not a half egg like most places). I also enjoyed the spicy bite of raw onion that was added to the broth. The only ding for me was that my ramen was supposed to come with bamboo shoot topping per the menu description but was a bit disappointed that it was missing. But still would like to come back and try the black garlic oil next time.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 Very cute little shop with great flavors! Flavorful broth and love how homey the owners have made it feel. Would definitely return to try other dishes

Ate here today a warm Friday afternoon with my mom and cousin to try this place out during my spring break. We had definitely shared and ate the takoyaki and different kinds of ramen that it tasted great and delicious. The service there was also attentive, friendly and pleasant. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

I stopped by and ordered cucumber and chicken karaage as appetizers--wow. The chicken karaage was so crispy on the outside and perfectly juicy inside. Total perfection. For my main, I had the Tan Tan Ramen--the spicy one. It wasn't too spicy for me (I can handle heat ), but it had such a rich, flavorful broth that I kept sipping until the bowl was basically empty. And because I couldn't resist, I also ordered the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl. The fish was fresh, juicy, and the whole bowl was super satisfying. Quick service, great flavor, and seriously crave-worthy bites. I'll definitely be back again!

A very solid ramen joint in Astoria! The chicken karaage was 10/10, huge chunks of meat, perfectly seasoned with extra black pepper on top, and very crunchy. The aioli was like a spicy mayo. I got the kuro ramen which is their normal ramen with charsu pork and black garlic oil. The broth was delicately light and the addition of chopped raw white onions makes it perfectly fragrant. The pork was smoky and well seasoned. It was the perfect comforting bowl in the winter time. It was about a 30 min wait for 2 around noon on Saturday.

Great ramen and quick service. I love their black garlic oil, which has a rich flavor. We ordered the deluxe and gyokai. Their soup base was very flavorful.

Susuru is quickly becoming one of my favorite ramen shops in New York, especially since I now live within walking distance to it. The chicken based ramen broth is really flavorful and the noodles are wavy with a good bite to them. My favorite order is gyoza and chicken karaage to start, following up with the Kuro ramen that comes with the black garlic oil, pork, egg and diced onions. It's a cozy little shop with a few tables, but the service is so friendly. Honestly it makes it feel like I'm back in Japan. It's totally worth making a visit here.

Food: ramen was so yummy!! I think it's the best I've had in nyc. The pork was also seasoned well. The egg was cooked perfectly. Black garlic oil added such a nice flavor to the broth. Takoyaki balls were delicious and had a lot of filling. Service: we were seated quickly and food was made pretty fast as well. Server was nice and attended to our water needs. Ambiance: clean restaurant. Nothing to complain. Good amount of seating and wasn't overcrowded.

Relatively good ramen spot with good quality ramen and okay atmosphere in restaurant. It can get a little loud and the service here is pretty slow though (there was only one person working as a waitress and hostess). We got the chicken karaage, which was pretty good not too salty, the susuru paitan, which had a nice light broth, and the deluxe, which has a much heavier garlic-y taste but was also pretty good. Overall, would recommend!

Do you live around? Stop! Oh you are so lucky!! that to have this place... is because it's really the authentic ramen that you can find in Queens!! In the cold weather This place is such an oasis and easy to warm yourself up :) They do have some craft beers which is the fun part hanging with friends! We jumped in around noon. the lunch time had just began! The place immediately got packed with locals. A friendly Japanese waiter welcomes you with great recommendations! We ordered Karaage (Deep-fried chicken) and Gyoza for appetizers! They wow you for sure. and I really appreciate how they served them before ramens. Such a Japanese way of treats when you are having drinks with. After that we all got different ramens! I got Miso one and was amazed with the fresh pulled noodles!! and Hot enough soup, Broth, all that.. we all got a happy food comma... now I miss it already! See this?5 Stars!

    Gyokai

Ordered the Gyokai seafood broth ramen and the spicy chicken wings. Both were really delicious and made with quality ingredients. The seafood broth had a clean-tasting, bonito flavor to it which I really enjoyed. I also really liked the texture of their noodles and you can't go wrong with getting a side of their chili oil too. They have a really great selection of beers as well. Both the service and ambience were lovely. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food! What an Astoria gem.

OK. This won't take long. Fabulous…read more Fabulous meal and fabulous service tonight (Sunday). Three of us came at 6:30 pm and were promptly welcomed. I ordered the Dinner sushi combination D - tuna, salmon and white tuna. It came with a not-so-small small garden salad in a decent dressing. One of my table mates got the Bento box with teriyaki salmon and the other got two rolls (Spicy Girl and Cucumber, Avocado, Jalapeño and Scallion). We also ordered a shrimp shumai appetizer (six small, tasty shumai in the serving). Everything was delicious. And the service was outstanding. To be honest, initially we thought we were being rushed because the server came by repeatedly to remove empty plates and the wrappers from our chopsticks - but we quickly realized that this was really extremely attentive and great service. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were refilled numerous times and we were not rushed at all. After our leisurely meal, we ordered a Green Tea Mille Crepe and an order of fresh fruit. The crepe was very good, although the topping of green tea was a bit thick for us and we scraped it off and ate the rest. The fruit was fresh and delicious. We truly felt very welcomed and valued as customers here. We didn't drink anything other than water, so our bill was only about $100 (before tip) for the 2 hours we were there, but even as we left we felt valued by the serving staff and sushi chefs. An excellent meal and experience.

The wait was around 30 minutes for 4 on at 1:30p on a Sunday. By the time our meal ended, there were several empty tables. Service (4/5): Timing of the dishes was not in sync with the table (not that that bad, just noticeable). Ordering wasn't as smooth as we hoped but all in all corrected (order was wrong but was corrected when we were asked to re-confirm the order). By the time we sat, the food was out within 20 min and then the pancakes came out another 20 min after the first dish. Food (5/5): The food was outstanding! Seriously like everything from the pancakes, ramen, to the lemonade. Lunch special of Tan Tan ramen (special May 2026) and Pork Cha-Shu Bowl. Tan Tan was spectacular and was def better than the bowl. The broth had so much flavor with richness, spice, spicy level, half seasoned egg. The noodles were also a lovely bouncy chew. The pork was pretty standard with about 5 thin slices spread over a soy sauce based sauce. Omurice was very silky. The egg was nice and runny. I liked that the sauce wasn't too ketchup-flavor forward. I enjoyed the rice which had bits of meat which gave it more flavor too. Crème Anglaise Souffle Pancake - my only wish was that there was more of it because it was so good. The cream that was on top was not too heavy and the zest flavors blended surprisingly well. It comes with a little side of fresh fruit. The cake was not overly egg-y in flavor either. Lavender Lemonade - Not too tart and not too sweet. I liked the forward lavender taste.

Everyone's order was taken but ours. Once we finally got to place our order, we watched everyone finish their meal, while getting morning. Not a drink, not a coffee, not an appetizer. The service was horrendous. We waited for almost an hour to get our meal. Felt bad for the only two sweet women working the entire restaurant--serving, bussing, cleaning, doing everything. Is management out of their mind? Only two people working the entire space, that's packed to the gills? Unacceptable. The two ladies did best they could. Felt bad. The vibes are pretty and are the only reason people flock to this place. AC was out of control--everyone was shivering and there was nothing that could be done. I don't remember ever being so uncomfortable at a restaurant and wishing for to leave after traveling over an hour one way to dine here. $6 Hot Matcha latte & $6.50 hot rose matcha lattes were probably the highlights of our experience, which is sad. Drinks are ludicrously expensive, at $20 a small pop. Hipster prices, hipster experience. $20 chocolate old fashioned was good, but I wouldn't return for it. We got the $19 salty (classic) ramen and the $19 soy (sho-yu) ramen and both were the worst we've ever had. Who wrote all these good reviews for ramen here?? Instant packaged ramen tastes better. The broth was off--tasted of old meat, especially the classic ramen. Noodles were instant pre packed kind. The three time sad pieces of pork tasted of nothing. This was super disappointing. The salmon ikura bowls were nothing to write home about. $16 matcha soufflé pancakes were undercooked inside. Had no taste, but the matcha sauce was sweet and added some light flavor. Overall, would not return. Parking around is nonexistent. Trains are tough. This spot is in the middle of nowhere and so not worth the track.
