In 2022 we selected SVB Wood Floors to refinish our existing wood floors (20 years old but just a few troubled areas and yellowing). We were drawn to this company because they offered faster dry time and ability to stay in the basement while they worked. We should have done much more research. It has only been 2 1/2 years and the floors have non-removable stains, and plenty of scratches/dings. While the finish on our old floor stood up for a much longer period of time, I was totally disappointed with the continued poor performance of this floor work. And, please keep this in mind, upon leaving, SVB gave us an entire BONA kit for care of wood floors. About 8 months ago I called SVB and requested that they come out and give me some reason for the floor performance being so poor. They prodded around and said that the stains were not able to be lifted. AND THEY ARE VERY NOTICABLE. The representative asked what I used to clean the wood floors. I told him I was using the BONA products that had been left when the floor was completed. The representative said, that this product use would void my guarantee or any warranty. So now, 2 1/2 years down the road I have an expensive refinished floor that looks just about as bad as the old one. I do not recommend this dealer for floor finishing. They may have groovy equipment, but their process and support are sorely lacking. read more

SVB Wood Floors did an awesome job on our floors! Communication was great, and Carlos was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Carlos was one of only two salesmen who came prepared to check the moisture content of a damaged area on our floor. That right there tells me a lot. Their quote was very detailed, and I think they were the only company that told us the brand of stain and finish they would use. Their pricing was also very competitive with the other four or five companies we got quotes from. We were very impressed with their dust control system, as there was almost zero dust left for us to clean afterwards. There was a very minor hiccup that resulted in them coming back out to spot-fix a few areas, but they responded quickly, and the floors look beautiful. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone interested in refinishing your wood floors. read more

I looked at quite a few companies before deciding on SVB to refinish my hardwood floors. I was impressed with the company's history and the quality of products used. The salesperson explained in detail to me the process and the constant communication I would receive throughout the week while my floors were being refinished. SVB seemed to understand the disruption in a family's life to completely move out from their main living space for a week and they were very good at detailing how long the process would take and when we could begin to use the floor again. The salesperson also explained to me there would be some touch up necessary on the baseboards and trim, which just happens when the are removed and replaced during this process. There will be a few knocks here and there. We were fully prepared for that and accepted that risk. They were also very good at ensuring the color of the stain was exactly what I wanted - and it is. My floors are beautiful. We are thrilled with the finished product on the floor. We could not be more disappointed with all the places that splashed stain that is impossible to remove without an expensive fix - my stained kitchen cabinets, my stone fireplace and the wallpaper in my bathroom. When I completed the survey sent to me at the completion of the job and noted all these problems, a representative of the company called, apologized and offered me a discount on a future job. Having SVB back into my home to do another poor quality job is a mistake I will not make again, even if it was offered to me for free. And to make this poor decision even worse, no one bothered to come out and look at the problems I described in the survey. I'm posting photos here. I highly recommend SVB floors for overall excellent service and craftsmanship. . Earlier this month i needed my hardwood floors repaired. The hardwood flooring included the kitchen, dining room, and hallway, which are part of the open floor plan. They explained the process before proceeding: The first phase was replacing the water damaged wood planks in the kitchen followed by removal of the "shoes", which are the parts connected to the floor board. They then sanded the entire wood flooring then cleaned up the residual wood dust. They then applied our custom wood stain. They returned the following day to apply the first two coats of polyurethane. Due to this being Friday, no service on weekends, they returned Monday to apply the final coat of poly. They explained we could walk on the floors, hard bottom shoes only ( no high heels) and we could also return our appliances to the kitchen. ( a dolly was required). Overall, customer service was excellent, the "floor" guys were conscientious and deliberate, taking care in the quality of their work. It is recommended to re-do hardwood floors every 10 years. I will be calling them again in 10 years, or earlier if tragedy strikes again. read more

Oh, I like my house again! Twelve years of dogs playing, food dropping, drinks spilling, and normal wear and tear had worn the finish completely off my wood floors. We did it ourselves the first time, but I just couldn't face the mess by myself this time. SVB advertises 99% dust-free sanding and offered a Home Show discount. The price was well within my budget, and they could get the job done before I had to take delivery of my new sofa. In all the things you want from a contractor, they were spot on. Showed up on time, cleaned up the mess, and my floors are gorgeous! As advertised, there was hardly any dust, and they left me with a high-end Swiffer-type mop and cleaner. Our project turned out phenomenal! Very professional very detailed oriented! They replaced hardwood floors in our hearts room due to a water leak matched perfectly cleaned up after themselves very courteous. The tear out and the installation done in a timely manner. Can't say enough good things about SBV flooring thank you very much for helping put our house back together. read more

The BEST. Meticulous, fast, on time and nice! There was 1 tiny little flaw in the 800 square feet that was done and they came back to fix it. They were also reasonably priced too. Looking forward to using them next year when I do the other half of my house! read more

Day 1 the guys walked in and didn't introduce themselves, just started bringing in their equipment. I gave them the garage door code to get in and out. Told them to text me when completed as there is a 2 hour window that you can't walk on the floor once completed. I did receive a text that day. The company set up time between 12-2 on day 2. I received several phone calls within a 45 minutes period that I was unable to check or answer my phone. The first message at 2:45 is from the work crew saying they are late and outside of my house and can't get in. I then have a message at 3:20 from the office stating that the guys are still outside my house and can't get in and if they can't get in the next 5 minutes they will have to move onto next project. When I finally get ahold of the office at 3:30 they explained the guys just got in and started working. When I spoke to a gentleman about why there was a hold up on getting into the house when the garage door code was given, there was no empathy, sympathy or a care in his tone of voice. It was "it is what it is". So I asked how long this process will take because there again was 2 hours after completion that we would not be able to walk on the floors. I was told maybe 1-2 hours but would receive a text. At 5:30 receive a text when the crew would be out for day 3. I inform that I have not heard from the crew so assume they are still working. Received a text back that I could go home at 6:30, so no text was sent at 4:30 when completed, as requested. Day 3, again do not receive message when floors were completed when I returned home at 2pm. I called office who stated they would have to call team in field, when I received phone call it was stated they were done at 11. There were wood chips left in the driveway, they scratched my kitchen table. I called and spoke with the owner who apologized profusely. I then get a message at 5:30 stating the crew from earlier didn't have enough material and needed to come back one extra day to finish the job. Again no text telling me when they were done. No phone call was made from the company to talk about any follow up questions or concerned or care for the floor. The Only nice thing I have to say is my floors are gorgeous. The process of getting them however was not good. read more
