Definitely quite touristy/busy during the day, but if you're doing an overnight visit, the tour bus crowds clear out by about 6pm and make it much more manageable to walk around!

Start…read moreby walking up to the castle gardens the long way and then the slight descent to the Castle, which is huge, your view over town will orientate you and you will see the bridge points that cross into the town basin. The castle is huge without going in. The bears in the moat will likely distress you, two live ones, could easily be replaced with statues, onwards tot he shops which are lovely, the cobbled streets and numerous food options. Parking is around the city and easy. We parked in P3 for our circuit and it was also close to our crib. This is a delightful town and henceforth will always be referred to as 'dear old Cesky Krumlov', of course there are lots of tourists so get up early or go out late.

The Yelp is not too active down in South Bohemia, so we were asking at Macro (and receive a pretty confusing reply, that we should find some sport shops on the way to Plzen. And we were lucky. We did find a Decathlon! Nice and quite a big shop, with good selection of sport gear, including a good collection of bikes! What was nice is that they were having some sport gear exhibited in from of their shop, and that the bikes were there as well. And some of them with a nice discount. So to cut the long story short - we have bought a nice white bike, at a good price, and with a 6-month pre-paid service, the shop assistant was very kind, and I have immediately signed for their Decathlon club membership and has been granted an additional 100 Kc discount, which I liked. Plan to be back!

Large indoor playground in an industrial district. This place differs from quite a view others…read morebecause it has a large circuit to practice traffic while riding skelters. There's also a cool ramp/slide and a massive air castle (it's actually a shark). All the usual trampolines, climbing areas etc are there. You have to put money on a prepaid card to buy food and drink which is a bit of an inconvenience if you are just passing through town and you're unsure whether you will visit this chain again.

If the weather is nice and you're staying a night or 2 in charming Cesky Krumlov, going boating…read morealong the Vtlava River is awesome, fun, and beautiful experience! Even if you end falling the river like I did at the very end! For 900CZK/$40, you can rent a solo kayak and go downstream for about 15km, which takes about 2-4 hours depending on the river speed. The nature and wilderness of the Czech forests and Vtlava is gorgeous. The downstream flow makes for minimal effort to paddle. So wonderful, relaxing, and beautiful...until the very end in which I attempted the final ramp and capsized my kayak...doh! It was still fun anyway. At the end, they have van and trailer to pick up your kayak and drive you back to Cesky Krumlov. Its a lot of fun for only $40! They provide life jacket and a dry container, which safely protected my $500 camera! I recommend knowing how to swim, and also getting protective case for you smart phone, because you'll definitely want to take photos along the river, safely! Staff was extremely friendly!
