This is the only option given through my insurance. I have been going there for over 5 years and have never received a pair of glasses without an issue. The frames and lenses are not of a good quality and good luck getting them to fix thier mistakes. My daughters have both gotten glasses there when they were in my insurance and both had issues. They made a pair of glasses, for one of my daughters, with the prescription reversed. She had to take them back several times and they were never made correctly. We threw the glasses in a drawer and I took her to a different provider and paid out of pocket. read more

I would not recommend SVS to anyone. The service is horrible and my prescription is not right. I will be going else where to have my glasses fixed. If I had SVS do it I would have to wait 7 days for them to correct it. I figured it would take a day or 2 for my eyes to adjust to the prescription. It is worse than before no correction has been made. I told the guy doing the eye test everything is blurry he didn't even try to adjust anything to clear it up. After I got my glasses they did not fit right I would have to make an appointment to have them adjusted. Instead I went to another eye care store and had them adjusted properly. Most of I am very disappointed in myself that I did not tell him how to do his job. I spent $245.00 for nothing. P.S. I did call and notified them that's how I know it would take 7 days to correct the problem. read more

I had a problem with my glasses and they refuse to do anything about it. Because of my insurance I have to go back there. Then I order glasses and they're missing from the box, they're supposed to call. I call when they don't and they don't have time to talk, just to find out that they misplaced them. Everyone at SVS has been wonderful. I've received the clearest lenses since coming to SVS. I've been amazed how different my vision is. They are friendly and helpful as well. There is a federal law called The Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act that stipulates that a doctor must provide the patient a copy of their prescription for contact lenses whether the patient asks for it or not. I was fitted for contact lenses and since I was not provided a prescription at the end of my appointment, I was pressured into ordering contact lenses through SVS Vision. As a result of this, I was charged up to 2x as much for contact lenses that would have been much cheaper to buy elsewhere. I printed out the entire section of the law that pertains to this and gave it to the manager of this location. I reccommend that if anyone who goes here makes sure that they are provided a copy of their prescription whether you ask for it or not, and if they do not do this, to file a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission Online. This is a federal law that is meant to protect consumers by being overcharged for contact lenses. Do not make the same mistake I did. read more

I had a contact lens appointment on June 1st. Going on 7 weeks now and I still don't have a valid prescription or the correct trials. I could go on about how much time and effort I've put into trying to get this resolved. Absolutely the worst service possible. Making an appointment with Discover O and moving on. My biggest issue is their OVER PRICED fee for a "contact fitting" it was over $60 to be fitted for contacts! After my appt. Upon my entrance to the exam room, the doctor removed his mask in order to fill out my paperwork and then proceeded to cough multiple times. Following that, I told him that I only wanted a glasses exam (because that's all that is covered by my insurance). I said that I was interested, however, in finding out how much buying new contacts would cost and he said it depended on what kind I use. I pulled my contacts out of my purse and he copied down my exact contact prescription which was determined by my eye doctor in Virginia 4 years ago. This prescription is no longer compatible with the current state of my eyes (but I did not want a new prescription because I didn't want to pay for the exam). He then examined my eyes through a phoropter that had its last maintenance check in 2017, per the tag on the machine. He said that my eyes look healthy and that my glasses prescription hadn't changed much since last year. Upon checking out, the woman told me that I owed $80 for a contact lens exam. I told her that I didn't get a contact lens exam. She said that because the doctor wrote down numbers in "those boxes", it meant that I had to pay for an exam. He wrote down numbers from an expired prescription and now I have to pay $80 for it? I told her again that the doctor never did a contact lens exam (which on the SVS website is described as follows: "After a comprehensive eye exam is performed, the curvature of the eye is measured, paying special attention to the front surface of the eye to determine the best contact for the patient. A contact lens is then placed on the eye and evaluated for vision, comfort, and fit.") A contact lens was never placed on my eye during this appointment. The doctor simply copied down my 4 year old prescription and then I was forced to pay $80 for it even though I said I was only there for a glasses exam. All I asked for was a price estimate on how much contacts would cost. I never asked for an exam or an updated prescription. Customer Care was no help as they said that when I left the building with the paperwork containing my prescription, I was no longer eligible for a refund. Taking care of patients involves listening to them and helping them understand the services they are receiving. This doctor took the expired information that I gave him and then made me pay for it. I now have an $80 piece of paper with an invalid prescription on it. If you'd like to be scammed, this is the place for you. read more

I really enjoy the staff at this location, especially Haley. she is friendly and has been a familiar face for years when I get my eyes checked. on the other hand the office manager is super unprofessional and treats the employees unfairly. I have also heard the girls get snippy with one another over sales. My advice, if you go have Haley fit you for your glasses/contacts she is the only reason I return here yearly. read more

If we could go somewhere else for our eye doctor we would. The staff comes off very kind at first but we have been going here for years and they are constantly messing up. I'm over it. I will pay without insurance to go somewhere else. They become rude and blame us when it's their mistake. They are only in business because a large KC employer uses them. I will not again. read more

This place is horrible , the employees are usually nice and they try to be helpful but very disorganized , they get orders wrong many times One they made 3 pairs of a old Rx when it was supposed to be one pair with a new Rx , how they did that is clueless they also do not keep minor things in stock like the pads for the nose piece that falls off now and then, then they ordered some for me then called to to let me know they were in, the next day I went to pick them up and they could not find them , then the next day they found then I. a very poor place to get glasses and the prescription, if you can go some where else, I couldn't see out the glasses at all with the first pair so I got another prescription from the same dr. and it was totally different, the second pair was better but not right. Very unhappy. The first time I went in I was quoted A ridiculously high price for one pair of glasses with GREAT insurance. So after shopping around I realized SBS was much higher than other competitors in the area so I gave them a call and the lady on the phone said actually your price would be $60 less so I was going to pay over the phone the lady on the phone said she was going to have to clear everything out and when she did that my price then changed and went back up so I asked to speak with a manager the manager said he'd have to speak with the district manager and that he would call me back in 10 minutes I never heard back from him called him back 40 minutes later 10 minutes before they were going to close he'd still not heard back from his district manager so he said he would call me first thing in the morning I never heard from him in the morning so I called him on my break he had still not heard from his manager but he said he figured out a solution that should have been offered to me the first time I was in they have buy a pair and get 1/2 off with my insurance so I could've gotten two pairs of glasses for the price I was going to pay for one so I went back in and got a second pair of glasses they told me that it was going to be 7 to 10 days so on my 10th day I called in one of the pairs of glasses were on back order nobody decided they needed to call me to let me know. So I call The next day and speak with the office manager at this point he tells me the lab is closed so he cannot call them to get a shipping number to see when exactly they are going to be here I would have to wait two more days this location just seems like they do not have their things together very dis-organized everyone blames everyone else they tell you 7 to 10 days but then when you call them they say they don't know who would've told you 7 to 10 days it's 10 to 14 days. I will not be back! And would not recommend SVS vision. read more
