Next to the bus station and a large, but rapidly filling car park is Swadlincote library. A large building, with great facilities for the local community. The entrance usually showcases the work of local society or group, which proves an interesting distraction as you enter up the small flight of steps. The library itself is spacious and full of light, with the books well ordered into distinct categories, with large sections of fiction and non-fiction factual texts. There is a copious library of audio-books and DVDs that can also be borrowed too. The internet access proves consistently popular, as do the daily newspapers and photocopying facilities. The library's upper section is totally devoted to children's books, which can be accessed by stairs or a glass lift. All in all, a great local resource. read more
