My family couldn't safely stay in our home, and I had to pay to stay in an Airbnb while waiting for my claim to be handled. Instead of promptly helping during an emergency, I felt like I was met with delays, repeated requests for more documentation, and resistance to covering the damage. After 14 years of paying my premiums on time, I expected my insurance company to stand behind me when I needed them most. Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind during unexpected disasters. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Based on how my claim was handled, I cannot recommend Farmers Insurance. I hope they improve the way they treat long-time customers facing urgent situations.
