Dr. Echols was very kind and calming and his staff was attentive. Honestly, I cannot stand the dentist. I can handle all medical situations but dental situations (even minor exams) give me through the roof anxiety. The team was very calming, explained what they were doing, personable which added nice distraction, and didn't rush me. Four stars for now- it was a simple exam and X-rays. I have a cleaning coming up so I may update my review after more work being done. So far, I'm fine (can't really say happy about any dentist!) with seeing Dr. Echols and visit his practice. read more

Inaccurate diagnosis. So I am deeply troubled by this. The dentist said my daughter had 6 cavities. We took her to another dentist who said she has zero. The dentist also told me I had lose teeth and needed to get a mouth guard. From them Or course. But my teeth didn't feel loose so I went to a specialist who makes mouth guards and they had no idea what Dr Echols was talking about. It isn't a mistake when it happened twice. It is either an intentionally deceptive dentist or one who is poorly trained. Be very careful. Seems very dishonest. read more

I called with 26 hours in advance notice to cancel an appointment. When I called back to reschedule, the staff lied and said the appointment was canceled several times. I only canceled it once. It feels like they were weeding us out due to my partners dental issues, even tho we have the insurance and money to pay. Also, I signed up for new patient X-rays and a cleaning. They had to schedule the services on different days. When I called back to confirm my appointments, the X-rays that were scheduled were no longer on the books, so I had to start the process all over again. We both feel unwelcome here! read more

I am very upset with the dentist here Colby Echols. He gave me the wrong info and began to drill on a tooth that was not the tooth I was to get a crown on. First attempt after numbing my mouth with and making me wait at least 30 mintues while he was with another patient and he acted as if I needed to let the numbing agent to kick in. . I walked out and going to another dentist he already cracked open my other tooth and he hurt my nerve in that tooth on the first attempt of drilling and he said oh I guess you need more numbing agent hahaha. Completely unprofessional. Guy even walked out to me to "step to me" like he is trying to be a "big man" to fight me or something. Wow piece of work= joke. Going to other dentist for sure. read more

Dr Echols has to be the worst dentist I have ever had in my life! I have been to many dentists in my 64 years for just about every kind of dental procedure. I had a crown put in my tooth and the doctor would not adjust it for me so it was comfortable. I kept making appointments that were spaced 3 weeks apart to have him spend 5 minutes on it and send me away. He tried to say that there wouldn't be any crown left if he adjusted it anymore but he didn't do anything to it in the first place. I had to go to 2 other dentists to have it adjusted and now it feels ok to bite on but I noticed it feels like there's food or some particle stuck between the the crown that drives me crazy. I never felt goodness or truth in this doctor even though he would act nicy nice and call me Juls when he barely knew me Everyone else can say what a good doctor he is but I know different! read more

If I could rate this office and it's staff minus 5 stars I would. I went to pick up my prescription and they hadn't called it in. They receptionist wouldn't go and let the doctor know I needed the prescription. They were rude and racist. I watched speak so nicely to a white guy. I, unfortunately, have had the "pleasure" of going to dentists so many times in my life. Dr. Echols is definitely one of the best! His skill minimizes and usually eliminates any pain in the experience. I've had two teeth extracted and a cavity filled by him. He specializes in gentle care. If you are scared of going to the dentist, go see Dr. Echols. He is really skilled and has great bedside manner. His whole staff is wonderful, too. ***UPDATE 7/20/17 My whole family has been going to Dr. Echols since we have moved to Tucson and it continues to be a positive experience. His website says, "Providing gentle care" and that's the truth. I am writing this as the Novocain is wearing off from two filling replacements. His bedside manner is impeccable. He always says what he's going to do next and, if applicable, says what you are going to feel so there are no surprises. Getting the Novocain shots (the worst part, in my opinion, of any dentist visit) was a breeze. I experienced no discomfort at all. His staff is great. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? OK, so far-so good. I've been to 2 appointments at Swan Dental. Both times during my visits I was instructed to disinfect my hands, as well as my temperature taken. Good to see that health protocols are being respected. The front desk staff was sweet and welcoming to me. The technical staff was really nice. During the time of the initial examination, the staff as well as Dr. Echols were kind and respectful. I was never shamed, or made to feel uncomfortable while discussing my dental concerns. At my second visit, I was made to feel very comfortable while Brittney cleaned my teeth. She discussed with me all the aspects of the cleaning procedure. She always made me feel heard, and like my anxiety was top priority. She was very gentle. I will be going back in one week to have the actual procedures done, but at this point I have no apprehension because of the wonderful job Swan Dental has done, thus far. I had the same dentist for the first 23 years of my life. Our family dentist was very good, had excellent customer service, great staff, was super gentle, and I always felt I was in the best of hands. As this was the only dentist I'd ever had, I was spoiled having such excellent care and this is the standard I came to expect. Well when the dentist retired and passed off the business to his protege, at the same time I was off my parents' insurance and had to start paying for myself. I decided to look for a different dentist. This was weird for me as I never let anyone else look at my teeth before. I tried a couple different dentists and didn't have the best experiences. That's when a friend referred me to Dr. Echols a couple years ago. Dr. Echols and the rest of the staff were always really genuine, friendly and professional. The facilities are clean. I've never had any trouble parking. They would explain costs and insurance to me whenever I have any questions. They also send out reminders by email, which is helpful. All in all, Dr. Echols and my experience at his office reminded me of the quality I received from my family dentist growing up. My insurance through my work recently changed, which I found out about when I went in for an appointment today. Sadly I won't be able to continue as a client here. However, the staff was tremendously helpful, and Dr. Echols still saw me for a few minutes and answered my questions even though I wasn't technically his patient and he wasn't charging. I really appreciate this office and would recommend it to anyone looking for a dentist in Tucson! read more

Love, love, love Swan Dental. I am a huge crybaby when it comes to the dentist, so to find a really great dentist is hard for me. I went to a couple of other dentists in town and really didn't have a good experience. A friend recommended Swan Dental and I have been going to Dr. Echols for about two years now. Dr. Echols is excellent, very caring and an excellent dentist. He always takes time to make sure I am not having any issues and answer any questions I may have. The hygienist I usually see is amazing!!! She is really gentle and awesome at dealing with a nervous dental patient. The office staff is great too. I has an issue with my insurance before my last appointment and the front office staff took care of all of it efficiently. Not to mention the office is really clean and up to date. I have had many negative experiences at the dentist in the past, and as a result I usually dread having to have any sort of dental procedure done. Such is not the case with Swan Dental The doctor and staff at Swan dental are genuinely nice and very efficient. Had my first appt. with Swan Dental this afternoon. I requested an appt on-line and received a call back first thing the next morning. The girl I spoke with was very knowledable. I was given an appt. this same week for a routine exam and cleaning. What a pleasant experience!! The staff is friendly and helpful. Always smiling. Julie, the dental hygenist is incredible. She explains every step in detail from the xrays to the polishing finish. My teeth have NEVER looked this good after a cleaning. Dr. Echols then gave me a thorough exam, again explaining and answering all questions professionally, and in a tone that expressed genuine concern. I will absolutely return to this practice. My 13 year old grand-daughter was in the waiting room and when we left, she mentioned how impressed she was with the staff. From a 13 year old, that's saying much. read more
