Private lot in back was packed to the gills but we got lucky and someone was leaving as we made our way through the dirt lot. At entry, you can grab a menu and join the intimidating line to place ur order. Once you're up, place ur order with the cashier, grab ur number and grab a seat in their lovely space. It does get a lil loud inside but the covered patio was lovely. On a 95 deg day there were shaded seats to enjoy the warm breeze. Due to the volume of ppl the tables and seating was a mess but the crew on clean up was on top of it. As soon as u have an eye on a location they somehow appear and magically get everything tidied up. Best part was, of course, the fresh, huge portions of food. Tasty and healthy options but sized to share. We could have just done one soup and one salad to share. We over ordered in the best way lol. This new spot on 1st street is truly a vibe. Beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, gorgeous baked goods and other small bites. I went to meet a friend for lunch on a Wednesday at around noon. Both of us were able to find parking in the attached lot but know that peak times parking is fairly limited so street parking may be the only option. I did a build my own sandwich (rye bread, turkey, Swiss, tomato, mustard), a chocolate croissant (to-go), and a kombucha. These three items came to $30 which seems par for the course in austin but also is quite outrageous for a sandwich (a pickle spear was all it came with) a drink and a pastry. The sandwich was tasty and quite large (thank gawd given the price) and the kombucha was good (a local brand). My husband loved the croissant when I got home. We came for brunch and were both craving lox and some pastries. They have a counter order system which works fine, with a curated display of offerings and to go items. When our food arrived we were a bit surprised by how underwhelming the bagels were. Barely any cream cheese, and even less lox. My wife got one skimpy piece on hers and I had the same issue. For nearly $20 each this was unacceptable. The iced coffees were filled to the brim with ice, leaving little room for any coffee. The croissant, while very pretty was surprisingly dry inside. The total for 2 lox bagels, a chocolate croissant and 2 iced coffees after tip was $76. For such a price I expected a lot better food wise. Clean and spacious inside. Long lines the entire time we were there (until about 1:30pm). Get there early if you want to secure what you really want. While we were waiting in line, chocolate croissant, ham and Gruyère croissant, and everything bagel sold out. When I placed my order, they didn't tell me that they sold out of everything bagel and they automatically substituted it with a sesame bagel. Wasn't exactly thrilled about it and requested to get a bun instead. They gladly replaced it so I appreciate that. Ordered an iced matcha - can tell it's ceremonial grade and not the sweetened kind. Recommend not going here at all. They have a really odd no computer policy. As they are a cafe, not sit down and order, it would prob ostracize their target demographic The food was expensive and didnt hit the mark. Otherwise, i wouldve really enjoyed, as the inside interior is really nice. Got a baklava eclair and macarons. Both werent great, with the inside cremes for both quite hard and cold, which was unexpected. Usually dessert still tastes good, but it felt like they didnt have much flavor or sweetness to either The staff was the main reason i would advise people to go elsewhere. Asked a gentlemen for an item and he didnt even look and said they didnt have it. I had to ask a female worker, and she confirmed they had the item and got it for me For their no computer policy. I went around 9 am with a short line but i've gone around 2 pm with lines to the door before the everything croissant is everything you could possibly want in a croissant. flaky, crispy, cheesy, and their seasoning is top notch paired with the cream cheese on the inside. my matcha was extremely disappointing, it was grainy and milky. i feel like when i looked around, other people had much more vibrant and homogenous matchas, so maybe depends on how's making it. the lavender syrup is also a bit soap-like for my preference read more

I freaking love Swedish Hill. The prices are high, but I keep going back because everything is so good. First, be patient if you try to go here at lunch time. The parking lot is very small and can be tricky. You may need to find a street spot instead. Once inside you can look at the paper menu while in line. We have tried a variety of items from the avocado toast to the famous swedish iced coffee made with coconut milk to the flavor bursting passionfruit eclairs. I have also ordered bread, bagels, the almond croissant, delicious. Everything is so good. I had a French cafe in Jacksonville that I loved for lunch, a glass of wine, and treats to go. This is my new spot for Austin. Love it so much. I am very disappointed that they have a new no laptop policy. I often think about stopping here after meetings, but have to go somewhere else when I remember I can't have a coffee and treat and can some things done. Even the patio does not allow laptops. I doordashed this for food/snacks throughout my day at the office and WOW it made my day. First of all the buckwheat with jam scone was one of the best scones I have ever had. The smoked turkey side was a good protein snack throughout the day. The macaron was fresh. The matcha latte with extra matcha kept me caffeinated all day and wasn't bitter - very fragrant! This was my first time at this location since they moved from downtown. We parked in a nearby parking garage a block across from Fresas because my least favorite thing to do in Austin is drive around looking for parking. I think it cost me $11 to pay by the time we left. I love the aesthetic, it's so pretty and it's so much bigger with ample seating. On a warm day we still ate outside with plenty of shade and fans. Be careful of you sit on any of the wooden block-like furniture outside, it's very heavy and you can easily scratch yourself when getting up or moving around it. It was busy with a line but that's to be expected for delicious breakfast. I loved my bagel and lox. They offered me a few options for what type of bagel I wanted and it comes with all the fixings. The Palmier pastry was to die for that I wish we bought extras to take home. My matcha was fine. It didn't come sweetened, which I appreciated and it's pretty standard to be able to order alternative milks. I had mine with oat milk. My friend got an egg and cheese and bacon breakfast taco. Since she was visiting Austin, I feel like breakfast tacos are a staple but I wouldn't have thought to order here with all the exceptional breakfast taco options but she said it was delicious and the salsas were perfect. Being from Florida, we love a Natalie's fresh pressed juice options and they have a couple fresh juiced on the menu. I didn't get a chance to look at the pottery in the space since they share the retail space with local pottery but it looked very modern and in beautiful hues so I'll have to come back when I have more time. This is not your average place to grab breakfast or lunch. I think they do a great job of adding special details to their ingredients and products and feeling like a true Austin staple with a matching aesthetic. When you eat there it brightened my day. I used to frequent the Clarksville location often and I was very excited when they opened a location close to us, although I was sad when Fox Trot closed. I have visited this location at least 10 times since they have opened! The service is always great and the food is good, although I wish they would add a dish or change up a fresh Sala or side dish, but I suspect when fall rolls around, things will change. The thing I miss about the Clarksville location is that they have a freezer with cookie dough and other frozen treats that the location on S.1st does not offer. I have noticed that they include a take out fee and for that reason, I either do not tip or it is significantly less. I have never been charged to takeout my own food! It is not as if you dine in, that you are waited on, so what is the difference? I love getting the caesar salad and adding the chicken salad on top. It is so good. I am also obsessed with the whipped jalapeño cream. The rotini pasta is good, the desserts are all lovely and we love the rotisserie chicken dinner special! The chimichurri sauce is divine. I will say, that when placing an order to go, CHECK EVERYTHING before you leave and I mean, open up the boxes. Twice I have left and my croutons for my salad were missing or the chicmichurri sauce for our rotisserie dinner was missing. I had to send my husband back and although we live around the corner, it was still inconvenient. It did not blow me away by any stretch....the bagel I got with my Clarksville Crunch was weak weak weak, and shouldn't even have been called a bagel-it had that stale white bread inside with not enough egg and didn't even taste like one? Pretty anti-actual good bagel for a place touting an "everything croissant"? Hmm, and the Clarksville crunch sounded cute, but was VERY bare bones, just kaley type "lettuce" with those Japanese sesame crackers, not much else. My mom ordered a Café Au Lait and had to wait forever for it, which also made me feel a little disappointed since she'd been reluctant to try this newish Swedish Hill because of their upped sandwich prices, most around $17, several more than that. I did like that it was high ceilinged, and the other patrons were a nice mix of people, but could have done without the lame factor of the counter people, possibly trying to be pretentious? About as "lipstick on a pig" as the bagel, imo.
