I needed to check it out. They do have a parking lot in the back on the side road. I was on a hunt for pastries otherwise I would have went into the front entrance. They have a restaurant setting/full bar in front which I did not try yet. But I know they do brunch here as well. I went to the bakery section in the back, where the lady who worked here was super nice and friendly. Gave me so much information. They had little chocolates. More flavors than you could imagine. Peppermint bars, Cookies, and candies. I bought a cinnamon roll because holy hell, the cream on it looked so bomb. And I bought a half dozen cupcakes. Each cupcake was around $2.25 each. They looked crazy. I had to buy them. I bought an Oreo cream , some peanut butter bliss, a wedding cake and s'mores flavored cupcakes. They were beautiful. The people who make these things put a lot of work and effort to not only make a cute spot to go to in Quincy. But also so you can bring their hard work home with you to share with your family and friends. Will be coming more often!

A wonderful chocolate shop in historic Hannibal While…read moreexploring historic downtown Hannibal, Missouri, we decided to stop by Chocolaterie Stam. The shop is conveniently located within walking distance of many of Hannibal's attractions, making it an easy stop while we were exploring the area. If you're spending the day visiting the Mark Twain sites or strolling through downtown, it's well worth adding this to your itinerary. The first thing that struck me was how beautiful the store is. It has an old-fashioned feel that fits perfectly with the historic character of Hannibal. The candy displays inside the shop are attractive. The shop is spotless, and the entire place has a warm, inviting atmosphere that encourages you to slow down and browse the many selections in the cases and on top as well as a lot of the historic memorabilia along the walls. . Since this was our first visit, we weren't familiar with the different chocolates and specialty items they offered. Fortunately, the staff was outstanding. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely patient as they answered our questions and explained the different chocolates. As we were leaving, I noticed a tour group from one of the Mississippi River cruise ships arriving at the store. That immediately told me this was one of the places visitors to Hannibal make a point of experiencing, and after tasting the chocolates, I completely understood why. The chocolates were excellent,. The prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the products and the exceptional customer service we received. Overall, this was one of our favorite stops in Hannibal. Between the charming atmosphere, outstanding staff, delicious chocolates, and reasonable prices, Chocolaterie Stam is well worth a visit. In talking with the owners actually the husband discovered I loved sampling different root beers and took us to one of the locked storage rooms to show me his impressive root beer collection. They were very sweet and fun to talk to and we absolutely can't wait to go back!!! Check them out if you're into unique candies and sodas. So many fun options. Typically I was a glass of cold milk with my Oreo, but this one from the Candy Factory was perfect just being dipped in chocolate. The pretzels gave me a nice mix of savory and sweet. The two pack had one dipped in Milk Chocolate and another in, White Chocolate. I surprised myself, by liking the White Chocolate best. It seemed to have a sweeter taste, which went well with the salty pretzel. While out exploring downtown Columbia, I stopped by to give their Chocolate Covered Strawberries a tasting. OMG - so good. The chocolate shell had a good crunch and the berry was super juicy. I feel bad that I did not, take a picture of the deliciousness. They have multiple chocolate figures, I was able to pick up a 'It's a Boy" chocolate for a friends baby shower. I impulsively bought a half pound of chocolate dipped strawberries when I got to the register. In my opinion, the quality and taste were outstanding for the price! Other places charge crazy prices for just a dozen, here I was able to get 8 strawberries for $15! I will for sure be back!

Just visited 1904 General Store for the first time…read more I visited downtown Alton yesterday -- for the first time in years. Decided to check out the general store as soon as I saw it -- it's a cool, welcoming old building. The first floor is full of candy, chocolate, fudge, ice cream, and other treats. I picked out some candy and sampled some delicious Belgian chocolate bars. I bought one for me, but I'll be back in a few months for friends' birthdays, and to try the fudge myself. The ice cream flavors (about 8) were all unique -- you aren't getting a simple chocolate or vanilla here. The most common of the flavors available was a rainbow sorbet. I think some of the other flavors were Shipwreck, Pirate's Bounty, and Superman, though I may not be recalling the names accurately. The upstairs is full of home decor items, including a wall decorated to look like someone's front porch. The styles are cute, though not my speed, as I am something of a minimalist.
