Busy breakfast spot known for their brown-sugar-glazed "millionaire's bacon." located near Japantown in San Francisco. Street parking only and no reservation accepted. We came here on a Sunday morning and of course the line is wrapped around the building. It's not as bad as it looks and moved quicker than I expected. It was 4 of us and we wanted to sit inside so that might have added some extra wait time. Once we are seated, I feel like I got wrapped in a tornado! Waiter is very attentive, food comes out fast, and empty plates are cleared right away. If you're looking for a lazy slow Sunday morning, this is NOT the place. Of course, we had to order the "Millionaire's Bacon Sample Platter" to share. It comes with 4 pieces (Original, Citron, Cinnamon and Rosemary). I mean it's thick bacon - they are all delicious. The Citron stood out to me. I like that hint of orange and sea salt goodness. This is a must try! I couldn't help it and got the "Big Hip" - HAHAHA. It's their famous deep-fried French toast. OMG, it's too good and it went straight to my hips. It's crunchy outside and fluffy inside. The service is good and definitely quick. I do feel a bit rush and I don't want to be that person/group to hold up the table. Keep that in mind if you are looking for a slower pace dining experience.
Sweet Maple has been recommended to me a few times, so we finally decided to give it a try. My first impression was a little confusing. When we arrived, there wasn't anyone waiting in the designated queue area, so we walked in and checked in with the host. He then asked us to go back outside and get behind a group that had arrived after us. Although I was slightly frustrated the experience turned around. Our server was friendly, attentive, and had some great recommendations that helped us navigate the menu. We started with the Millionaire's Bacon sampler, which let us try all four versions: Citron (orange and sea salt), Original, Cinnamon (chipotle and sweet cinnamon), and Rosemary (rosemary and pepper). The bacon is thick-cut, sweet, smoky, and packed with flavor. While they were all good, the Cinnamon was my favorite. I literally couldn't stop eating any of the flavors! We shared The Francis Soufflegg Skillet, loaded with chicken mango sausage, bacon, and scallions, and served with toast and tri-colored potatoes. The eggs were light and fluffy, and the combination of the sweet-savory chicken mango sausage with the smoky bacon worked really well. The tri colored potatoes were light, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and some of the better breakfast potatoes I've had in a while. We shared a side of the fried French toast. It was good, but a little on the dry side. After seeing the regular French toast come out to other tables, we'd probably order that instead. Fun spot with great food. We will be back especially when friends and family are in town.
Don't let the line discourage you. I only waited about 20ish minutes to get a table on a Saturday even though the line looked pretty long; they have plenty of seating, inside and outdoor. The best part of this place for me is the atmosphere and their nice menu selection. I think the food is good, but not anything superior to other popular brunch spots. It's a good place for people to gather and grab a bite to eat. :)
Tried the ribeye omurice at Kitchen Story and it's definitely one of the more unique brunch dishes I've had. The omurice itself was super soft and creamy, with that perfectly runny egg on top that makes the dish. The ribeye added a nice savory touch and was fairly tender, though a few bites were a little chewier than expected. Flavor-wise, it leans on the richer side, so it can get a bit heavy toward the end, but overall still really satisfying. Portion size is solid--definitely something you could share if you're not super hungry. Service was friendly and the place has a lively brunch vibe, though it can get busy and a little loud.
The florentine eggs benedict was the best I've ever had, and that's coming from an eggs benny enthusiast!!!! Same with the mocha, which is also my go-to latte!!! My friend had me try some of his Millionaire's bacon and it was sooo good! We bought some to-go to give our other friend, and even a day later, he really liked it too! I would recommend the candy bacon just because my friend said it's crispier, but if you prefer slightly softer on your teeth, get the Millionaire's bacon :) Service was very pleasant! Our waitress recommended the mocha latte, it was a lovely choice! I had asked between that or the matcha (which my friend ended up getting), and the barista brought out two matcha lattes. We weren't sure if we misheard her rec, so we didn't say anything, plus the matcha was my other choice anyways, but our waitress noticed and brought over a mocha latte. She gave us the other matcha latte for free, saying the barista made a mistake (though we hadn't minded) There was also no wait at peak breakfast/brunch, but that could be because we came on a Thursday. It was still very busy though

The ube latte tasted so yummy, and of course the pancakes were just so light and fluffy. We came around 1pm on a Friday and were seated right away. Service was very quick from there. I've come for bottomless before too and can highly recommend! The Saturday energy on their outdoor patio is so nice, and they have a variety of fun mimosa flavors to choose from.

Last day in SF well spent. We got to Sweet Maple for Sunday brunch around 10:30 and were seated within 15-20 minutes. So if you want to beat the rush we saw as we left, earlier is better. The food here is an absolutely amazing traditional breakfast/Asian food fusion you would never expect. We tried a number of dishes and everyone LOVED their dishes. The ube martini is a must try. My only note, is that this is a fairly large and busy restroom serving copious amounts of mimosas with only two toilets... The lines can get quite long and we had a table right near the bathroom so we consistently had people kind of just awkwardly standing near us.

This morning I visited Sweet Maple for brunch with high expectations. I ordered the New York steak medium rare, but unfortunately it was served medium. The presentation was good, but when it comes to steak, temperature is everything, and I specifically did not order medium. When the server came to remove the plate, my dog barked unexpectedly, which startled him and caused coffee to spill onto the table. It was an awkward moment, but the staff handled it professionally and remained attentive throughout. The overall service was good and friendly, and the waiting time was pretty standard for a brunch spot. The décor is simple and basic, nothing particularly memorable, but comfortable enough. I also ordered a Nutella crepe, and here's where I was truly disappointed. It wasn't Nutella.. it tasted like regular chocolate spread. And as someone who considers herself a Nutella connoisseur, I can tell the difference immediately. If you advertise Nutella, it should be Nutella. Overall, it was a decent experience with some details that could definitely be improved. I would give it another chance, hoping next time the steak temperature and the "Nutella" live up to expectations.

I wanted to post these aesthetic pictures and food since I don't think I ever did before. There's always a line out the door but the wait was relatively short for a weekend. There were so many options but I chose what my eyes saw and everyone had this dish. It was going to be a long day so why not start it with a drink. Their drinks were amazing and the food was devoured. The place was full but it was still easy to yap and people watch. Lowkey though, the prices of brunch has gotten so expensive but it's relatively in the ballpark in comparison. That's just a small vent.

One of my favorite brunch spots and a Bay Area staple! What I Ordered: * Ube Martini (New!) * Omurice * Millionaire's Bacon They have a seasonal martini collection for the summer, which we ordered the refreshingly sweet Ube Martini! If you are craving savory short rib-eye with a breakfast spin like potatoes and eggs, then order the Omurice. Finally, the Millionaire's Bacon comes with 4 different types of Bacon: Sea Salt Citron, the Original, Cinnamon (the best one) and Rosemary. The service was super fast and multiple servers checked in on us through out the meal with water refills and clean up. Ok...I took a star away because of these times....not on service not cleanliness not even food. Its a bit expensive Yes it was good but damn...the prices. Very bustling and busy brunch spot! There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Their bottomless mimosas are available before 2:00pm, which means as long as you get seated before that time it is applicable. They have different flavors of mimosas and will bring out a small pitcher for a refill of each flavor. I got the mushroom melt sandwich. I personally got tired of eating straight mushroom so I did not end of finishing it, and wish I picked a different sandwich. However, the bread is very good and the salad on the side has a nice dressing. read more

Sweet Maple is an SF brunch staple for me. There is always a line outside, and there is absolutely a reason for it. The team keeps everything moving so smoothly that the wait never feels stressful, even during peak hours. Once you sit down, the food comes out quickly and everything tastes incredibly fresh. I always look forward to the potato medley because it is crispy, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite sides in the city. Their espresso martinis are another must for me. They are balanced, smooth, and pair perfectly with a big brunch spread. Every dish I have tried so far has been consistently delicious, and you can tell they take a lot of pride in the quality of the ingredients. The service is warm, the space is lively without feeling chaotic, and it just has that reliable comfort that makes you want to return again and again. Sweet Maple never disappoints, and every time I go it reminds me why the line outside is always worth it. read more

Wow! I am so glad we found this gem. We went there for brunch and we were second in line. We were so lucky to be able to get in so quickly because outside was so cold. During the meal, the line gotten so long. They have so many food selection!! But the shin ramen fried rice caught my eye!! That tasted so good! The seasoning was perfect balance with the spiciness. They added their signature maple bacon and an egg! That's a must! I would say it's better for lunch or dinner than breakfast!! But so worth it! It's such a big portion I couldn't finish it tho sadly. My husband got a sandwich it's pretty good too. I got an ube latte and it tasted rich ube flavor but the bottom has some sandy texture made me coughed a bit. i high key made a yelp account just to write a review because this was the best breakfast i've ever had and im passionate about breakfast food. My partner and I are on vacation to San Francisco for the weekend, and this was my first time coming. Arriving to Sweet Maple, there was a line out the door and around the corner. We decided to wait and I'm glad we did, because we got seated within 10 minutes and once we ordered we also got our food within 10 minutes. the food was SO FUCKING GOOD, i got espresso, orange juice, and the gardenia souflegg, it was a new form of eggs i haven't tried and it was amazing, it came with a side of delicious potato's and ciabatta. if you go to San Francisco, go to Sweet Maple! the vibes are great, food even better. read more

Their millionaires bacon is what I come here for! So good. 4 pieces of different flavored bacon, and may not seem like a big deal or enough to feed a few of you, but those 4 pieces were enough for me and two other adults. Especially if you're pairing it alongside your breakfast. Their crepes were delicious as well as the breakfast tacos. Had a great brunch here with a friend. She had French toast , eggs and sausage with a coconut latte. I had the strawberry crepes with Nutella and whipped dream. Bacon & scrambled eggs. Also got a tequila martini with hibiscus. The crepes were great! I enjoyed it. Crepe was not or too thin, crispy on edges and not soggy except in the center. I asked for little Nutella but it was still a lot for me. I should just ask for a very, very thin layer instead. The martini drink was not good. Turns out I don't like hibiscus , lavender, or any other herbal liqueur in my drinks. Only exception is lychee. Need to try other sweet maple restaurants nearby. read more

I wouldn't go here all the time because of the long line and prices, but it's worth a try. I had the pimped ramen cup fried rice and thankfully it's not too spicy. The egg yolk, fried rice and bits of ramen and bacon actually went together really well. Their millionaire's bacon is the thickest slice of bacon I've ever had--thick, tender, and hint of smokey and sweet. I recommend getting a dish that includes a slice of bacon so you can try it! Might be the more affordable option instead of getting the sample platter. A fun brunch place and despite it being super busy, the service was excellent, attentive, and fast. read more

My significant other and I took a short trip to San Francisco last month. He had found Sweet Maple online before the trip, and we thought that it would be great for a nice brunch after our flight. After checking into our hotel, we made a short five block walk to restaurant. It was a weekday around 12pm. The restaurant was pretty full, but we were seated right away. We opted to share a happy morning blanco pizza and Millionaire's bacon. We loved them both! The pizza was a perfect brunchy selection, as it has chicken mango sausage, cherry pepper, scallion, mushroom, mozzarella, arugula, ranch, and a sunny side up egg. A little lunch, a little breakfast. I was initially hesitant about the Millionaire's bacon...could it be that great?!? But, it was sooooo delicious! It is worth every penny. If you even remotely like bacon, I highly recommend. The service was great and attentive. It does get a bit loud and the tables are pretty close together, but we were able to have a conversation without much of an issue. We really loved the food and will definitely go back when we are in the City. If only there was a Sweet Maple near me. But wait! I just found out there is one in Santa Monica, about 20 miles away. The Millionaire's Bacon Sampler is a great way to taste all their specialized offerings. The fact that I was solo dining didn't stop me, I made it my main and got a side order of French toast. Pretty fun to reverse things, when bacon is typically the side. Original Millionaire's Bacon: In a liminal space between bacon and pork belly, this manages to be better than both! It's thick and meaty, but still mostly crispy. The lacquered sweet and umami glaze is the perfect pairing. Seriously, I can understand why this is so popular. Citron Millionaire's Bacon: A nice citrus zesty zip, which gives a good contrast to the rich bacon. With this, you don't even need a side of orange juice. Cinnamon Millionaire's Bacon: Probably my least favorite of the bacons, though still great since it's bacon. I don' think it was so much the cinnamon taste, but rather the chalky texture of the coating that turned me off. Rosemary Millionaire's Bacon: Probably my second favorite, after the original. Nothing sweet about this, with nice rich herbal tones. I could see this making an amazing BLT or Chicken Avocado Bacon sandwich. Big Hip French Toast (side): Felt like something from a Texas County Fair. French Toast with a thick batter, deep fried for a crunch edge. Stiff soft inside. Sweet Maple was a short walk from our staycation hotel in Japantown. Great breakfast. I've been a few times to the Cupertino location so seeing this one nearby was a no-brainer to bring my wife and son. Love the menu. I'm not a bacon guy myself but the Millionaire's Bacon looks epic, the egg dishes, burgers, sandwiches- it is all so good. Love this place - both the Cupertino and SF locations. read more

I tried sweet maple for the first time and had a pretty good experience. We came here for brunch on a Saturday around noon. I wish they had reservations so we wouldn't have had to wait in line for so long which is frustrating. We got the bottomless mimosas which I was excited to try but I wish there was longer than a 1 hour limit. To start we got the mango tajin mimosas which were very good, I would definitely come back for it again. It was strong but also tasted so good. The next 2 rounds we got the strawberry and raspberry flavors but the mango was for sure my favorite. For food I got the wild pizza. It was pretty good but I think there were too many leaves on it. The menu was large with lots of options for a brunch place and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was decent but I think our server should've checked on us more often. read more

Been a while since we were last here. Decided to visit on a Monday when we were in the area. Arrived at around 9am and we were seated quickly. Hubs went with the Blackstone Benedict - he ate it all up. The soufflegg skillet was different, so I decided to go with that. Went with the Savory as it's topped with bacon and shrimp scampi. Appreciate that a salad can be subbed for the potatoes at no extra charge and the presentation of the dish is always appetizing. The skillet kept the eggs hot and they were fluffy eggs. However, the shrimp was dry and the bacon tasted burnt. The eggs were seasoned but, for me, something was lacking. Service is good in that they were friendly, checked on us often, and kept our water glasses full. read more

Street parking. Some close by is metered, and some is not.
Is breakfast served all day?
We are open from 8am to 2.30pm on weekdays and close at 3pm on weekends
How's the SF location? Meaning the neighborhood, not the food
Overall parking isn't terrible to find. Sometimes you luck up, but be prepared to circle a couple times. Not sure what else you're looking for in terms of "neighborhood". It's in the Fillmore area.
