The Buche sits on a piece of cake board that is stuck on the bottom of the box so it doesn't slide.

This review is for the newly opened Sweet Rehab in NYC on the Upper East Side on 89th St between 3rd & Lex. I really wanted to give this review a less than 5 stars because I was so upset that the price of the cake I bought was not properly displayed and had I known it was going to cost $145, I would have opted for something else. But the service and packaging along with the taste and texture of the limited edition Chocolate Addict Dark Chocolate Christmas Buche more than made up for my disappointment in the lack of public pricing in the store. I selected this flavor made with a hazelnut mouse on a shortbread cookie. And there were hints of marzipan/almond paste in the center. I brought the desert to an intimate Christmas Eve house party. And if you ever want to impress, well, get this Buche as long as you can spare the cash. We must have talked about the Buche for 20 minutes, attempting to break down all of its decadent flavors. It was definitely the hit of the evening! And its very well packaged box kept it from sliding in transit on the NYC bus system and walking through the city streets!

Love getting tea and a few delicious desserts here! The service is always really nice and they always offer samples. My favorite tea is the jasmine in love, but recently they have been out of a lot of teas due to the customs issues (not their fault obv but still sad). The inside is clean, but I love sitting outside when outdoor seating is available. Desserts are really expensive, but they are honestly so worth it. I haven't had a bad experience here!

    Yuck, never again.

No, just no. Yelp you got us again. The space is beautiful and upscale. Much like a French cafe (if you ignore the lousy service and horrible deserts). The hubby had Le Miel and I asked for a recommendation and the counter person said the vanilla mille feuille. When I took a bite of the mille feuille, I honestly thought I had COVID. It had no taste. The hubby confirmed it was the pastry not me. Literally no taste. I exchanged my tasteless ($20) confection for a cookie with a lot of stuff on it. The cookie was so heavy that after two bites, I felt like there was a boulder in my stomach. The hubby's pastry left an oil slick feeling in his mouth and upset his stomach. Let's not go into how it took almost 30 minutes for our premade pastries on a quiet night, to be served to us. Ridiculously expensive and tasteless pretty much sums this place up. Those who follow me know I am not afraid of paying good money for good food, and this wasn't it.

Came here after dinner nearby and it was great! The tea selection is fairly expansive and the desserts are delightful. We tried a few different ones but there were easily ten others we didn't get to try. On the way out the host gave us some chocolate chip cookies on the house which were great! I will say it was a little pricey - but the ambience and options for unique desserts were worth it.

As much as I'm trying to ease up on the sweets, places like sweet rehab makes it so hard lol They are so good ! I had the croissant twist and that was by far one of the best hands down ! Definitely a must try!

Superrrr cute pastry shop in west village. Loved looking at all the pastries-- they were truly beautiful. The price, however, was not beautiful. Especially since you have to order a drink per person to sit inside. Yes you get good pastries, but I can't really say if they're worth that price. They're good, but not life-changing good. I'd only do take out next time, unless you want to be cashing out $30 on a glass of champagne. Service was good but superrr slow. - Truffle Madeline: 3/10 (I... don't really understand this dessert. It was put in the oven and it took a longgg time to be served but it wasn't even hot when it came out? The truffle didn't really add anything either.) - Tart: 8/10 (good fruity tart)

Darling spot to share a pot of tea and sweets. The atmosphere is charming and staff was very gracious.

Food: The desserts here are amazing! This dessert shop has many pastries including tarts, eclairs, mille feuille, brioche breads, and desserts in jars. The desserts are on the pricier side, averaging about $20 each, but they're all very high in quality and delicious. I would recommend the raspberry tart and the jars. Everything is assembled and plated fresh behind the counter after you order. There was a constant line of customers coming in to buy desserts while we were there. Service: Service was excellent. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by someone assembling the pastries behind the counter. He offered to give us a small sample of one of the tarts and assembled it in front of us. He was also very patient and described everything that was displayed for purchase. Very friendly and customer-focused staff! Ambiance: The shop is small but has a few small tables where you can enjoy your dessert. Not good for large groups. There are probably about five small tables in the whole shop. It's a cute, very classy and elegant bakery. Overall, I would highly recommend this dessert spot!

This place is delicious but it also comes with a price to match. I've come in person and ordered delivery because it's the ultimate pick me up. They serve French tea Mariage Freres. There are limited flavors but enough to choose from. You can also smell them prior to ordering. Love their desserts: not too sweet and there's lot of eye candy which makes it hard to choose. I don't like that there's no pricing on anything so be prepared to get a surprise bill. They're not cheap!

I truly enjoyed my mixed berry eclair while the ice tea may be needed to be steep longer with more sweetness. The aesthetics were simply lovely as it was raining outside and looked like a tea shop from a movie on the inside. My server was also kind and checked in periodically. I'll definitely go back the next time. I'm in the city.

Love this place. It's a cute small little cafe spot. There are 6 small round tables. The confusing part is do you sit down first or order first, answer order first. In order to be able to sit you have to order a dessert and drink per person. We got the rehab Caviar Madeleine, le miel, to coco Bongo and Lemon/Yuzu eclair. I love the fact that none of the desserts are overly sweet. In order of how we liked things was Coco Bongo, rehab caviar, le miel and Lemon Yuzu. We also got a pot of tea for the 3 of us. The service is great. They are very sweet and thoughtful. Definitely will come back when I'm in NY

We walked into this gold trimmed quintessential Parisian cafe with decorations paying homage to bees and honey. There was no wait since it's a holiday. We were attended to immediately and provided with great recommendations by the hostess. Thank you! So what's better than a light buttery French dessert? It's Champagne PLUS the llight buttery French dessert!!! We had the lemon yuzu mille feuille-- how can anything be so decadent and light at the same time??! Chased it with the recommended rose champagne... Soon I found myself with no words. Just a smile. In the presence of such perfection. Bravo Chef!

This is a big dig dessert household here and we thrive off a sweet treat. This place really does pump out some incredible desserts top to bottom. They have this place spotless inside and the people working here are extremely nice and helpful with whatever you want to order. They even have a small seating area outside so makes a great date spot as well. I'd give this place 5 stars if desserts weren't $25 a person. Just a bit on the pricey side for a sweet treat but hey, get what you pay for! Cheers!

What's gluten free on the menu? Thanks!

They don't have anything specifically labeled gluten free but because they make your dessert fresh they can make a lot of the items in gluten free form. I have gluten allergy and had no issue with finding something to love.

We walked into a space that stood out compared to many smaller bubble tea shops, with a much more comfortable setup and plenty of seating that made it a place where we could actually sit down and enjoy our drink instead of just grabbing it to go. The clean interior and modern décor gave it a relaxed café feel, and watching the staff prepare the boba added a layer of engagement to the experience. The brown sugar milk boba is the main highlight and the drink that best represents what the shop does well. We ordered one and found the brown sugar flavor rich and caramel-like without becoming overly sweet, and the fresh-made boba had a softer, chewier texture compared to many standard tapioca pearls. The drink had a good balance between the sweetness, milk, and tea flavors, which made it easy to enjoy even for those who normally prefer less sugary drinks. Beyond the signature brown sugar drinks, there were also a variety of fruit teas, milk teas, and specialty options. The oolong milk tea stood out because the tea flavor came through more clearly, while fruit-based options like lychee drinks offered a lighter and more refreshing choice. The ability to customize sweetness levels also made it easier to find a drink that matched our preference. The service was quick and the staff were friendly during our visit. Since the boba is made fresh in-house, watching the preparation process gave the shop a more unique feel compared to typical chain bubble tea spots. The larger seating area was also a nice advantage, especially if we wanted to meet up with friends or take a break while exploring Koreatown. The team moved through orders efficiently, and the drinks came out without much delay. Overall, Xing Fu Tang Ktown is a strong choice for anyone looking for high-quality boba in a comfortable setting. The fresh-made pearls, well-balanced drinks, and spacious café atmosphere make it stand out from many other bubble tea shops in the area. It is a spot we would return to when we want a drink that feels more thoughtfully prepared rather than just a quick sweet beverage.

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
