Went there for the two nights we were in the Northwoods. Nachos were below average, but the Friday Fish Fry was fantastic. Chicken sandwich was a touch above average. Beer selection was good enough. The servers both nights were really nice and prompt. The best part was that they had the Blackhawks game on almost all of the TVs -- with audio! They're the closest bar to the Hiawatha Lodge, so we'll be back. read more

I don't know why this place doesn't have a 5 star review yet. The food was really good on the 2 nights we visited for dinner. The atmosphere was cozy, the service was pretty good. I'll agree it is kind of awkward if you pay with credit card to figure out the tip first and then have the waitress run the whole amount, but it's fine. Overall a decent place. We may have picked a bad time or a bad mood, but our service with Becky was deplorable. Any question was answered in spite assuming we got any answer at all. Ranch? Nope. They have a great selection of beer, and service at the bar is quick. I had a beer and a bloody mary from their make your own bloody mary bar which is fun! Downside was that it wasn't super well stocked when we were there, but still good. I had a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. The burger was very good, but the waitress forgot my fries. Once I reminded her she brought them a few minutes later and when they came they were piping hot and delicious. I also heard good things about their Reuben! Been coming here for years! Always excellent service and food even when it's crazy busy with hockey players and snowmobilers. Contrary to the review from last night Becky and the other gal (didn't catch her name) were excellent getting our groups order correct and any special requests taken care of right away. Great sports bar, awesome food, ok location, decent service. The location is on the chain...sort of. You can pull up and then walk up towards the road and enter the back door. I wish the patio had more of a lake view. It's good enough for what it is. However, the last time I went I was less than thrilled. The waitress was sweet and very helpful. We overheard her telling another customer she was waitressing to pay for college blah blah blah. When we were done, we paid and gave her a 50% tip as a little boost. We didn't receive so much as a "thank you" or a "goodbye" as we left. We were happy to up the tip but even if we didn't we should have received a "have a nice day" or something..... read more

Below average bar food with a view. Service has always been decent, but the food is overly salty. Anything fried has only one flavor: fried, and overly so. The pizza is fine, but everything else is unimpressive. I've been there many times, lured by the lovely view on Duck Lake, but each time I leave hungry, having left 1/2 my gross salty greasy food on the plate. We have been coming here for years and it has previously been wonderful...our go to place for great pub food. The food quality has gone way down. Three of the people in our party ordered French Dip and they came out cold. The meat was dry and not very flavorful. We were so disappointed. To top it off the waitress was wearing sweat pants that said "I'm sexy and I know it" down the entire left leg. Not exactly something we want our 8 year old to see. read more

Came back for a second time. Chips were a bit cold but it was still good. We got the same waitress as last time and she was still very nice and vibrant. It's very convenient to park your boat and walk right up. The service was very fast. We were seated right away. There is wifi here also which is very nice. They also have a cute little arcade area as well. Overall this was a very nice restaurant. Looking forward to next visit. read more

We were there on the 4th of July for dinner. Arrived at around 6, left at around 8:30. The food was good but it took over an hour and a half to get served. They honored the deal I purchased through Yelp, but seemed perplexed at first, asking if I had printed it out. Not being local, I assumed I could just show it on my phone. The waitresses were working so hard, I place the blame squarely on management for not having enough staff to accommodate the crowds. Being in a small town, on a holiday weekend, when many of your competitors are closed, one would expect you might be busier than a normal Monday night. Kudos to the staff that was working, they were friendly and helpful in a situation that I am certain was very hard and frustrating for them. I would probably return if in the area again, but maybe not on a holiday ;) read more

I was craving pizza. This place didn't let me down. Not a huge selection when it comes to toppings or ones offered. Either you get taco pizza or you get cheese pizza. But the best part is you can add as many toppings as you want on that cheese pizza. Had a Jalepenó, Green Olive, pepperoni pizza. Was very good but warm from the Jalepenó's. Not sure if it was because it's late in the season for Jalepenó's, but they are good and hot. Good thing that the Crown and 7's were flowing from the bar and delicious and cooled the tongue. I'm pretty sure that the dough wasn't made in house, but it was good. I'm a huge fan of "Dive Bars" and "Where the locals go" this fits the where the locals go tab. read more

Service is horrible. We were there for Sunday night all you can eat chicken. Table next to us were seated 15 minutes after us and received food 45 minutes ahead of us. Asked waitress if any fried items were fresh. She said chicken, fries ,onion rings, chips were all frozen. There are numerous restaurants ( Sayner Pub ) that have fresh chicken and fresh French fries. This quality of food can be purchased anywhere. Culver's and McDonald's frozen food are a step up from here. read more

Very disappointing. While the waitress couldn't have been nicer, we had to wait an hour and a half for our food. Our Bloody Mary's were horrible and the broasted chicken was incredibly salty. Our daughter's ham and cheese sandwich was barely toasted with barely any cheese or ham (the ham being very fatty). We will not be back and we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone else. read more

OMG! Best fish fry! I had the broasted cod and my family had the beer battered cod. We had an awesome experience. There was plenty of food and we even left some behind sadly! They have great old fashioneds as well. I have to admit we had broasted chicken yesterday too and it was awesome.
