Anyay the US so called PC laptop people couldn't repair it and said it needed a new mother board. What garbage. These guys at Laptop Repair fixed it no problem and said the US guys actually made the problem worse. Anyway I can't recommend these chaps enough for a fixed fee, no fix no fee repair. You can't go wrong. I would never buy another Sony, their customer service is absolutely the worst I have every used and they wanted $600 to repair it without even looking at it. Also it seems Sony were selling a lemon laptop which was massively underpowered for its job but I am digressing here as its not relevant to this review.

The lady on the phone said that my laptop would be checked while I wait and I'd be given a quote. When I arrive, early morning, I find out that I had to leave my precious laptop because James doesn't arrive before 11am. I decide not to and go back from I came from, on the other side of London, on the Tube. At 11am I come back and meet James, who examines my laptop in front of me and gives me a £75 quote for cleaning the fan, saying that if the fan needs to be replaced he won't be able to do so because he doesn't have the fan replacement part. Since I have already spent my morning in the Tube, going back and forth from Sloane Square, he kindly offers me to do it straight away, while I wait, in order to avoid me a 3rd trip there to collect the laptop the next day. After 45 minutes and he comes out with my laptop fixed. The repair has a 3 month guaranty and, in addition to this, he says that if my laptop dies within 2 weeks time I'll get a full refund of the £75 paid for fixing it. This was a month ago and my laptop is still working. Hope it lasts. I decided to post here because when I found this company online, while I was still in Val d'Isere, I was happy to find Tony S. review here, which gave me some hope that my laptop could be fixed, when back in London. Because when I had driven down from Val d'Isere to Bourg St Maurice in the valley, Christophe from JBSoft, had charged me €24 just to tell me that he couldn't fix it. Update 9 Dec 15 My laptop failed just 1 week after the 3 months guaranty. My luck :-( I went back there to see James who tried to find a fan online to replace the one in my Vaio but could not find any. He then offered me to clean the fan again for £40 without guaranty but I decided not to. He kindly gave me some advice for buying a new laptop other than Vaio, since Sony stopped making them.

Well coincidence is a wonderful thing, as I was shopping in Islington and walked right past this computer shop. The sign caught my eye as I passed 'repairs - viruses, software'. So in I went. The guy did not commit himself when I asked for a price to remove a virus, he said it would be 50.00 per hour. He would not give me a top price as he said it would depend. Not much to go on. This could end up costing more than the computer?? I said I needed a price. He then said bring it in and if we cannot fix it we will reinstall the hard drive. I hate that kind of vagueness when it comes to price, you should at least commit to a no more than kind of cost. I doubt I will suggest my friend takes it here, except maybe for a solid quote and be prepared to walk away.

My iMac suddenly gave me error and restarted itself, after that it wasn't loading into my account. Was just having circle in the middle of the screen. I gave them a call and the technician was at my door in 45 minutes. He spot the problem immediately. Loaded the system with his box and showed me all of my pictures and documents on my machine. Keeping me calm all the time very professionally even when I was panicking, showed me that my data is intact but I need this hard drive replaced ASAP if I store valuable data on it. He explained me with simple words that my machine was overheating in the past years and because of the constant heat inside my hard drive start getting faulty. Actually I have my machine from 4 years constantly working and I never had it serviced I assumed being slow is normal for it. When he showed me how much dust is accumulated inside, I was shocked. He had to take it away and brought it back when it is ready. The next day morning my imac was back, nice and clean, fitted with new hard drive and new installation.
