I used this company for 12 years. Last year, after two months of waiting for a technician, I called the fellow in charge of repair service. He said he wouldn't be able to get me for two years. called a different company and they identified the source of the leak that Swims N Sweeps had been trying to find for a year In literally five minutes. They had installed the device incorrectly. Considering the thousands of dollars they've made from me, I can't do business with them again. I have always gotten very good help from the store. They are the reason for the two stars. Bob and Service gets zero stars. read more

Swims and Sweeps is the absolute worst repair shop I have ever experienced. The incompetence of the "technicians" was almost comical as I watched them say "I dunno" and then bang a wrench on a part for a while. I had a fireplace unable to light on and called them. They replaced perfectly good parts without testing of any kind, damaged critical components through their "tinkering" with them, then charged me to replace them. They dared to tell me that I'd have to pay for pipes that were too short after they had needlessly cut out two other parts needlessly with no regard to prepping it for repair. It took six visits over five weeks to get the thing fixed, three of the visits worthless due to a repairman...with what appeared to be...issues. Then, to boot, I received bills after I had already paid them, seeking payment on a bill that had already been paid. I was left with a fireplace working sporadically with all but one of the on-off switches leading to cut-off wires and the switches just hanging unconnected. Bare wires that I know were connected and part the control system I used before their visit are sticking out of the mechanism and stuffed as far back as they would go in what appeared to be an effort to conceal them. Tired of complaining, I just paid them for the last part they replaced so we could be done with it. I had to hire another repair company to come out, and they said they might not be able to certify any further repairs due to the way that Swims and Sweeps left it. So, stay away from this company! Be careful of purchasing any services from them or ordering anything through them, as she (the manager) gouged me with crazy markups on parts "needed" only after the work is halfway done and you have no choice but to pay for them. To pour salt on the wound, his kind of thing was verified by a former employee who left because of the bad business practices that were normal operating procedure at Swims and Sweeps. read more

Actually, we did business with the spa and pool people at this location for 22 years. We always were very pleased with their service until things got weird last year. All we wanted to be was for a service person to come and replace a pressure control on our pool heater. The predecessor company at that location had installed the heater 20 years ago. We always thought to have two breakers in two fuse boxes was sort of strange, but Swims & Sweeps had serviced the heater several times over the past 20 years and never mentioned that they also saw it as strange. Anyway, a job that would have taken ten minutes turned into a nightmare because the kid they sent went into an irrational frenzy, called the maker of the heater and told them that someone had "modified the wiring." The fact is and many people know that we NEVER modified the wiring. It was exactly the same as was when it was installed by them 20 years before. If it was wired incorrectly, they are the ones who did it. Further, if he saw a problem, he should have called us. He had three phone numbers for people who would have worked with him to find a solution, but he called no one. Instead, he got the manufacturer to agree that he should walk away from the job. He apparently made it out to Kathy, the woman who runs the place, that we somehow put his life in danger. Worse, both the kid and Kathy decided not to tell anyone on our end about the situation until we discovered 40 days later than nothing had been done. If it was such a dangerous situation, why did no one call us? If they were unable to fix it, why did no one call us? If the wiring needed to be changed, why did no one call us? The names and numbers of three people were on the service order. Either of them could have called anyone and solved the problem with our blessing. Instead, Kathy basically told us that she no longer wanted our business after 22 years and after tens of thousands of dollars in purchases of pool chemicals and service from the pool store at that location. Up to this situation, our experience had always been that Kathy was a good person to work with and was very professional, but she sure went off in some kind of weird space all because of that kid's paranoia. We now use other companies that provide just as good of service as Swims and Sweeps did before this weird situation. Even so, it still makes us sad that a very good 20-year relationship was destroyed because of this kid's irresponsible behavior. read more

Worst customer service I have ever received. The store manager K is not a professional. She is not friendly or knowledgeable about what she sells. She severely lacks customer service skills. If you need to buy product for your Hearthstone, please save your money and time and go to Midwest Fireplace in Olathe,ks. K is not a worthy salesperson for HearthStone products. read more
