Bucherer is steps away from the rail station and my kids wanted to check out the watches. I was not motivated to go in as there is almost never anything for sale and I was tired. Another client was looking at a beautiful Rolex GMT two-tone gray black bezel. He passed on it and I was fortunate enough to get the rebound and it was offered to me. Holy smokes I've been waiting for a GMT for a couple years. I'd be stupid to pass it up so I got it. Laura my client advisor was so helpful and understood that I was vacationing with my dear family and this would be a memory that I would cherish. She took such good care of us and I thank her for offering it to me since the store was full of other clients and it could have gone to someone else. I love this watch and I've been wearing it daily. Watching the secondhand sweep so smoothly relaxes me for some odd reason. If you're in are in Zermatt, I highly recommend visiting Laura and the rest of the wonderful people at Bucherer.

Looks stupid, but we are watch nerds

You've got to do the most touristy thing and make it to Victorinox while in Switzerland. My…read moresister got me a customized climber over 20 years ago and she lost hers to the Touchy Search Agents (TSA) many years back, so I decided to surprise her with a brand new one. I too got my self another personalized and a 2023 limited editions. Someone in my party was jealous, so the next day we came back. I decided to pick up some travel gear and got the Airox Frequent Flyer Hardside Carry-on luggage. It's on the smaller end and incredibly light. The store also has cutlery and watches. On the way out, I had to purchase chocolates shaped and wrapped in foil to look like a Swiss knife. I bet TSA would try to make you throw that out too. Note: If you buy enough gear, you could save some money on taxes on the way home.

He would tell you one price to start with and said you have heard the price wrong when you show interests. We though he was trust worthy and believed his explainations. It ends up he was trying to take advantage of the tourists intentionally.

Inside the main store, you will find a wide selection of watches from Burberry to Gucci to Vulcain…read more In the back room, you will find antiques and higher-end names like Cartier, Patek Philippe, Omega and this is not even counting the rings, bracelets, brooches, and other vintage treasures I spotted a lovely Patek Philippe mystery watch, at a very good offering price - about on par with what I have found elsewhere. At first they advised me the watch was from the 1930s but I knew it was a later piece....and after they pulled out the certificate, formally authenticated by Patek Philippe, turned out it was from 1965 - which was fine. It was a lovely piece & they had the certificate to prove it was authentic. There are no negotiations / no offer of a "best price" but they will take a few 100 CHF off for wire transfer or cash. Credit cards require full asking price. The watchband was unfortunately too small and although they could have had a local jeweler add links to the gold band, we ended up passing on the purchase, mainly for the fact we did not appreciate the VAT / export conditions If you purchase a watch from the front of the store, they offer a VAT refund. In the back room, we were initially advised these items did not qualify, since they were secondhand items - but this is totally bogus since I currently had paperwork in my hands from Sotheby's ( i.e., a secondhand item ) - so we called them on this. Then they tried telling us that Patek Philippe had an arrangement where watches don't qualify for VAT - also bogus Then the owner stepped in and advised all the items in the vintage room / back room were from private acquisitions / local sales and therefore did not qualify for VAT refunds because he did not pay taxes on them when he acquired them......he then tried to reason that places like Sotheby's import items to sell and places like Rolex are big companies, who must charge taxes, so that was why they could offer VAT refunds.... but as his inventory came from private, local transactions, he could not. So does this mean you are not paying taxes to sell this inventory through your business?? Would have I been charged VAT if I purchased the watch from you? Would I buy something out of your shop but consider it a private sale?? Aren't you charged taxes on your business' inventory? I surely am no expert in Swiss law but something did not seem right.... And with these inconsistencies, we parted ways. So overall impression is the shop's wide variety and good price points are well worth a visit but know what you are getting into, going in

The staff was super helpful but respectful when I wanted to look around for a few minutes. Once I was ready to ask questions about various watches, they were able to answer everything, offer suggestions, and mention a few tips about the watch I eventually ended up purchasing. All in all a good experience and I got a functional souvenir of my trip to Switzerland.

We walked into the Food Hall section of this Department Store. Loud and busy at 3 on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a couple of Cappuccinos from the Coffee Wine Bar. Came with a piece of chocolate and they did have a choice of Lactose free milk. Coffee hit the spot. We shared a savory Crepe which was filled with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and Pesto. Tasty and just the right portion. We saw a few other stands-Asia Deli, Patisserie, Seafood Bar, Indian, and Art of Burger to name a few. Service from both stands was fast and friendly. We went up to the third floor and did some browsing. Store was busy also and most likely because most stores/shops are closed on Sunday. That said, the best part of the store was the Food Hall.
