I chose this hotel to host a Master's Program reunion and I'm so glad that it was our home for 4 nights. The Swissôtel Bosphorus is the epitome of luxury and location. Prior to choosing this hotel I requested proposals from multiple hotels in Istanbul, but what made this so special was the view of The Bosphorus. I want to thank Mustafa and Gozde for being great in presenting, proposing, and answering the countless questions that I had about this property before our arrival. The hotel exudes class, modern facilities, and something for all types of travelers. From the moment you arrive at the hotel you feel safe. There is a security checkpoint for all vehicles and a metal detector in the lobby for all visitors. This made my group feel safe and prior to my arrival 2 of the members of my group were thoroughly impressed with the hotel and thanked me for choosing it. Our first night there we dined at Madhus as a welcome dinner. It is an Indian fine dining gastronomic experience that set the tone of our stay. The food was delicious, the presentation was excellent, and the service was impeccable. We all enjoyed our meal there and when you stay at this hotel you must dine here. All of us enjoyed our respective rooms. Whether they were the Swiss Advantage Garden View Room or Swiss Bosphorus View the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The Purovel products in the bathroom were a good quality for a hotel. The housekeeping team kept our room clean and stocked upon request. We all had a great experience here. I would like to think that my group thought everything was amazing- the views of the Bosphorus, the hotel amenities, dining offerings from breakfast and fine dining at Madhus and 16 Roof were all excellent. From the lobby to the reception and concierge everything and everyone was delightful and extremely helpful. On behalf of my group, I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return just so that I personally can use their tennis court. read more

This is one of the 5 star hotels in Istanbul by the water on the European side. The service here for reception and restaurant is definitely 5/5. The lobby is absolutely beautiful, very clean, the bellmen are attentive and sees to you immediately every time we asked for a taxi. The restaurant is where we spent quite a lot of time in using the AYCE for an extra 50 for breakfast and dinner. The food here was really good, I would say above average so far compared to outside food. The Risotto is okay, I wouldn't order it again. The Manti is amazing and lentil soup is divine! The only reason why it's getting a 4 instead of 5 star is because of the smoking but I guess that's just the city/country itself. Our room was non-smoking but still smelled like smoke. The outdoor seats where everyone is always seated is a smoking zone. Eating with cigarettes just ruins the food overall and makes me nauseous. Our room's laundry was broken, no scissors available as well. Wild but still a beautiful place. Will likely come back here again if I come back in this area of Turkey! If you want to stay in Istanbul and were wondering which hotel you want to stay in on the Bosphorus side I would say Swissotel could be considered. It is located on top of a hill but walkable to the port side and also the Taksim square area which is filled with shops. If you don't like walking on hills then you can also get a taxi ride in front of the hotel. The inside of the lobby is beautiful and you can order lunch and tea time up till 11:00 PM. We also tried a traditional Turkish bath at the spa located on the fifth floor. It was quite nice and their facilities like the pool, gym, sauna, and heated rooms are nice. Overall I had a splendid time and can't wait to come back here to relax some more in Istanbul. read more

This hotel is amazing! The atmosphere is amazing, everyone is so nice and helpful. The views are amazing, the food is delicious, room service was quick. House keeping leaves your room spotless every time and Ozgur was a big help when it came to getting my laundry cleaned the same day. Front desk was very helpful when trying to figure out what to do around town; along with the concierge, door men and the bellhop. It is an incredible place to stay located on a slight hill to catch the breeze flowing from the Black Sea to the north all the way to the distant Mediterranean Sea in the south. Yes! This is the Bosphorus! A waterway fought over by empires throughout history. Alexander the Great made his conquering way through here. The Greeks, Persians, Parthians, Byzantine Empire and of course the Ottoman Empire are just a few of the powers that utilized and crossed this continental boundary. It is the soul and life blood of the city of Istanbul! To stay at the hotel or just to visit the Spa is well worth your while. Kid friendly too. read more

One of the top 5 all around best hotels in this tourist filled city of Istanbul . Pros: location, central location with near proximity to high-end boutique stores as well as the Bosphorus. Layout, love the layout of this hotel. Upon entering hotel you will be taken back by the large open lobby which encompasses a nice lobby restaurant cafe. There is a few shops as well as two dinning options at the hotel. The outdoor 16 bar is awesome summer spot. The rooms either have city views or Bosphorus views. Both are nice with obviously a large preference to water sights. The hallways look elegant and have a nice smell. Gozde and Suat greeted us and were both accommodating and very nice,. A++. Hotel management Aysim has been working with us also for our extended day. As well as Esra. The breakfast dinning restaurant location is great. They also have lunch and dinner buffets. I enjoyed message treatment at the spa and the hot stone message with aroma oils was top notch. Housekeeping staff and team also has checked on us during our stay to make sure we have comfortable accommodations. Cons: the mattresses in some of the rooms are in need of an upgrade, I'm sure this will get fixed soon. Novelty: great hotel in the heart of the city!l read more

Housekeeping & Madhu's, the Indian restaurant on the 5th floor, are the only two good things going for this place. We stayed for five nights. Everyone working at this hotel, except for housekeeping, has the worst customer service. Snobby reception. Mediocre food, especially the breakfast buffet. Madhu's has excellent food. Some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever eaten. But, again, unfriendly, slow service. I mean completely aloof staff, can't be bothered. Waiters in the hotel lounge on their phones leave you waiting for ten minutes before asking what you would like to drink. Housekeeping was excellent. They were consistent. They were always friendly & went out of their way to ask if you needed anything. They were always eager to help. It's a beautiful hotel. The views of the Bosphorus are incredible. The pool area is very nice. If you watch closely you can see Alexqndrine parakeets flying overhead. The rooftop bar has amazing views but the EDM is blaring until 2am on weekends & you can hear it clearly in your room. The Hilton is a much older hotel but their customer service is head & shoulders above this place. read more

I have been to Turkey 14 times so you could say that I know my stuff around this country pretty well! By far, this hotel has been one the best that I have stayed even better than the Four Seasons. From the moment, you step into the main lobby you are greeted by smiling faces and welcoming you to their hotel. We were able to upgrade our two rooms to a 3 bedrooms apartment on the residential building so we could have full Bosphorus view. Everyone is here to make your stay comfortable and pleasant; if you need something just make sure to ask. Our rooms prior to upgrade were made to be Feather Free because of allergy so as soon as we upgraded the rooms, the staff took action to make the new apartment Feather Free. Beautiful hotel with fabulous service. Concierge service was excellent. Several recommendations and they all turned out great. Tour to the old city ended up as a private tour with two of us and guide. Breakfast was included and so many options. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We were in Istanbul first for 4 days to celebrate the "big birthday" of my wife, then for an additional two days at the end of our Turkish journey. We were extremely "picky" and selected this hotel based on its hilltop location, putatively clean air (YES!), high standard, great food, lovely staff and amenities. And we were NOT disappointed - Swissotel delivered flawlessly every single time. Twice corner rooms on the 14th and 15th floor (the latter a suite) had a beautiful panoramic view of the Bosphorus, the Dolmabahçe Palace below - just great. The room & suite itself were large, very comfortably furnished, with a gorgeous marble bathroom, walk-in rain shower, super amenities by Purovel (Swiss). The desk area was well lit, excellent desk chair (yes, I worked). Sofa, giant TV, sitting area with 2 arm chairs in front of the window, super bar - everything as it should be - reminded of Four Seasons in New York with its "classic modern" decor. The mattress was, however, too hard for my taste; meanwhile, a simple phone call to housekeeping changed all that within minutes. Two employees came, added another mattress pad with down, and made the bed fluffy. We dined at Gaja on the top floor - fabulous modern Mediterranean food (please try the Turkish wines, wow, what a surprise). Cafe Swiss was another dining option, equally great. We had breakfast at the executive club room, always fresh, with many options. Wife had hair done at the salon - amazing hair dresser (thought they should know how to deal with thick, wavy Asian hair, and yes, they do). The gym is as good as can be expected - large, well equipped and pleasantly quiet. Everywhere are large, airy spaces, no giant crowds, no screaming kids. Large outdoor pool, as well as an indoor lap pool in the fitness area (great!) The concierges, all Clef D'Or, work extremely hard and are super pleasant to deal with. Over all, staff is extremely professional. We forgot to turn off the electronic "do not disturb" button; we got in at 9pm to find the room untouched (as it should, they don't want to bother you if you don't want to be bothered). We sheepishly asked if someone could make the bed - within 10 minutes, we had someone cleaning the entire room, again to Swiss perfection. At 9pm - now that's service! Since the hotel is near a park and on a hilltop, the air is not oppressive or muggy as it is by the water, plus there's never that "trapped" feeling you get at some of the other luxury hotels in Istanbul that shall remain unnamed. Yes, there is some disco dancing by the pool at night, but it was far away enough not to hear too much. The windows can be opened - no need to depend solely on AC. We truly truly love this hotel - I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Istanbul - another win for Swissotel modern luxury! read more

Nice hotel overlooking the Bosphorus strait and the Asian side of Istanbul. It's located in a green area close to Taksim square, fashion streets in Macka and Nisantasi, and busy Besiktas market area. It has a huge lobby with nice views, several fine restaurants and bars. It's an old hotel but at the moment it's under rennovation therefore when they'll finish the refurbishing of the rooms it will go back to its glorious days. Service is great. read more

We were at the Swissotel for 5 nights and I wish it was much longer. We stayed at a corner room with the view of the pool and the Bosphorus which is called Garden view. The hotel itself is gorgeous and cleanliness is superb and the staff outstanding. We were there the first through the 5th of June for a wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better hotel. The hotel lobby and rooftop have an amazing view of the Bosphorus and is extremely close to some nice boutiques and Dolmabahçe Palace, Ciragan Palace and Four Seasons. I'm still dreaming of our few days in Istanbul. Highly highly recommend, i would have give a 10 star if possible. read more

The Swissotel Bosphorus is one the most luxurious hotels I've had the pleasure staying. Arriving late from London (well after 1am) there were a surprising number of people queuing at reception. Nevertheless, my presence was acknowledged and my fears of waiting allayed as the bellhop took my bags and brought me to a previously unattended station on he desk. Once I checked into my room I was awestruck at the size of the living area impressive views of the river. State-of-the-art electronic equipment wired through both the living space and bathroom allow you to effortlessly indulge the most menial tasks. While I wasn't able to book breakfast there is a restaurant both in the lobby and in the one (of two) tower in which I resided. The lobby was bustling for breakfast so I assumed it was worthwhile. The hotel hasn't been remodeled since 1960's - many things don't work. The location is not convenient if you are going to Taksim Square. The rooftop lounge is nice though. I would say this is a 3 star hotel at best. Grossly overpriced, would never stay here again. read more

I was here for a conference so I can't comment on the rooms but the hotel itself was just ok. There is a grand view from the cafe in the lobby. Wifi available at 10E in the public spaces. One thing that I found odd was that the hotel does not have a gift shop / sundries shop so you can't buy any last minute supplies. The staff at the hotel was helpful but I definitely wouldn't label them friendly - certainly not at the level of service that you would expect from a supposed 5 star property. read more

I was pleasantly surprised since it was my first trip to Istanbul and this hotel was recommended by my friends in Los Angeles. The minute I walked in to check in I was helped by Sahap Kara at the reception desk. He was very professional and personable which gave me that warm feeling about the Swissotel Bosphorus and he remembered my name every time I passed the reception area to a point that he would ask about my day and places to see and provided support. It was the approach that I wish existed in every hotel and I don't see that from my travels nationally for my job in the US and I stay in luxury hotels in NY and LA and other cities weekly. Keep it up Sahap... you made a huge difference in my experience in Istanbul. I also can't say enough about Ms Damla...she greeted me at breakfast every morning and took time to talk about my visit and also mentioned how great of a customer I was since she gets to know everyone and tries to make their experience a pleasant one. It's hard to explain but both Sahap and Damla..has the amazing customer service approach that came out natural and it didn't feel like a sales pitch. I felt connected to them as friends. Another touch was Cengiz.(spelling?) he would greet me with a big smile and would make me Turkish coffee right away and talk to me as he knew me for years. On the second day I start calling him Changiz Khan which was a popular person in Middle East and Persia. I can't say enough about the concierge support and how friendly they were and the bellman and the people in the lobby that greeted me every day and all remembered me by name and smiled. I miss Istanbul already because of them and the amazing treatment at the rooftop bar every night (the 16th floor west tower) where Mostafa made me his favorite drinks and made me feel like a special guest and also gave me tips about Istanbul. What amazing experience. I am sure the people that I mentioned would remember me since I told them I live in LA and my name is also very popular in Turkey although I am not from there. Keep it up Swissotel and hear this from a executive that travels daily and stays in luxury hotels.. YOU ARE THE BEST. Keep it up and I will be back soon. read more
