My daughter l Woohoo! As good as it gets! My daughter loves the one on one inter-reaction provided at Sylvan Learning of South Lakeland. I think she enjoys the challenges and receiving tokens as a structured reward. In just 2 weeks her reading has improved so much. In fact, her teacher at Rochelle allowed her to call us at home after learning of her scores improvement on a reading test. She also improved on her grades as well. Sylvan does a great job of identifying skill gaps or areas of weakness and writing a specific program to meet the needs of the kids. While filling in gaps they get lots of positive attention, building self-esteem that was affected due to struggling in school. I owned Sylvan for 21 years and was proud to be a part of changing the trajectory of a child's life. I saw amazing results when the kids reached grade level. It was wonderful to see them smile more, enjoy learning, feel better about themselves, and become more confident in their abilities. Not impressed at all. Like pulling teeth to get responses and answers. My son did a test this past week for SAT assessment so we could then get a plan together for tutoring. Didn't get a call back - so called back in today as we only have a month until SAT time. Rep acted like it was an inconvenience and seemed completely disinterested. I didn't even ask for pricing. Appeared too much of a hassle for them to try to figure out private tutor scheduling with us. I understand his schedule is tight and it would have to be figured out - but at least act like you want our business and not like we are an inconvenience. Must not want our money. read more

Obviously I called to discuss my child's needs previously and this was my experience. Why on earth would I want to relive the frustration of going through this again? I will not be revisiting this business. I urge the owners or whom ever in charge to call there selves and see how they are treated. Whoever answers there phones is horrible! Even after reading the poor reviews and reports I was still willing to give this place a try in complete desperation to help my struggling student. We looked for awhile to find the right place for my children to receive what I call a second education. Sometime your child needs a little more attention and more open curriculum that actually helps them learn the material the right way. This location in our very own city have helped so many families and helped our children become bright stars in school. I recommend this location to anyone needing that extra tap on the wheel or just really a second opinion on how your children are excelling.
