I called about two weeks ago to find out about their summer schedule for upper level math tutoring. The phone representative was very pleasant but really could not help me with my questions. They seemed unfamiliar with the upper level math at this location. I had checked the website in advance to confirm they did indeed tutor for higher math, but after speaking with their rep on the phone I no longer felt sure. The rep took down my name and number to pass along to I think the owner. I've never gotten a call back and that was at least 2 weeks ago. My guess is upper level math is outside of their typical client request. Perhaps this location prefers to focus on elementary and middle school students. This is completely fine but their website and customer service should be equipped to explain this to potential new clients. I've waited around for a response when I could have been proceeding with other tutoring centers in town. I wish they had just been upfront with me from the get-go. We will be using online resources and supplementing with tutoring elsewhere this summer. I have heard great things about this franchise in general but this particular location still has some customer service points to refine.

Through the supportive and confidence-building environment, my son has never felt behind in STEM-related subjects. He actually likes math! With that, he has had the fortune of participating in the summer programs through DukeTiP for two consecutive years, and recently, he has been accepted to Carnegie Mellon University and Boston University pre-college summer programs for rising seniors. Without the well-thought-out and nurturing support from Mathnasium during his formative years, he would not be where he is today. As math is the foundational building block for various subjects as prerequisites, I feel that every child benefits from a solid math background. Without reservation, I can state that Mathnasium is a caring support system that helped my son feel confident in math and beyond.

We had a terrible experience with a child's drawing class at Blair Center for the Arts. I posted…read moreabout it on their FB page and Google. He verbally threatened my child and told him he was filming him. it scared him so much he was crying the whole way home. I contacted the police and they went to speak with him. Now, because this man child can't handle a bad review we are going to have to step into legal action. Avoid all cost.

The artist was Silvia Belviso Blair and I was informed that she provides private art lessons. Relatively new to the world of painting and stuck on a particular commission piece, I signed up for a class from Silvia. I was not disappointed. She is fantastic. In the hour that she spent with me, I learned so many useful tips that I continue to use on a very regular basis. She is patient, thoughtful with her instruction, and just a very talented artist. I decided to take an oil painting class from Silvia shortly thereafter. Having just moved, it was so nice to have the two locations (Mt. Pleasant and West Ashley) to choose from. Once again, Silvia's instruction did not disappoint and I have now transitioned from using mostly acrylics to working mostly in oils now. The classes were mellow and my fellow classmates were a lot of fun - so much so that nobody paid attention to the time and Silvia was gracious enough to let us stay past our designated hour and a half if we chose to. The classes range from beginner/basic to very unique and I can't wait to explore them further. If you have a creative itch, I highly recommend the Blair Center!
