The first impression was it's expensive compared to other tutors. They do have mandatory reporting after every session, which is great, and the tutors are qualified. My son has been in Oxford, Kumon, and other private tutors over the last 5 years, and he said they were not near as good as the tutor he has here. When I went in for the initial meeting (very long process), everything seemed great until it was time to sign up. They force a buy this now or else type of pushy sales tactic, and when I suggested I only wanted 1 day a week, not two, he told me I was not serious, and I should not bother going. They wanted the $1140 for the month upfront right then and there. He kept at the reviews how they have over 500 5 star reviews, and it's worth it and to read them (they have them playing on the screen). I get it's a business but... If it weren't for my son having 3 tests in two weeks, I would have walked out, but I pushed aside my thoughts and said I would give it two weeks because we had no other options at the time and the other tutors I've met did not seem that good. We agreed on paying $570 for two weeks and I would re-evaluate before the last session. His tests are complete and marked. Going the two weeks did help a lot. He bumped up his grade from 43% to 75% and has all the fundamentals down and is confident now. In the end, am I glad I paid the amount and went with them- yes. He was struggling, and his tutor has helped him a lot. He does like it there and wants to continue 1 day per week. Do I wish they would change how they sell and pressure people in the moment - yes. They should also not require a positive review in exchange for the $20 as that is like buying fake 5-star reviews. Let us give honest reviews if your business is excellent; the reviews will be too. Hopefully, this gives some insights to help others, and I hope they fix some of the negatives for future customers. If it weren't for the sales tactics I would give it 5 stars.

Waldorf did not prepare me for highschool in the slightest either. There are barely any science or social studies classes (apparently dance and woodshop are more important), nor is there any learning or emotional support from any staff. A kid in my class killed a bird during recess and was only warned not to do it again. Preschool and kindergarden aren't bad, but in the end your kid is going to be traumatized by the education system anyways, so its up to you if you want to pay for it. (also don't send your kid to Clearwater Academy (it's worse))

The majority of the classes in October involved having the kids sing along to a CD. There were a few other activities such as colouring, but we can listen to CDs at home and sing along with them without having to pay for it. The regular teacher does try a little more, however, the class size is so small, last week there was only my son in the class and that didn't give him the group experience I'm paying for. The first class was held in a nice studio room large enough to accommodate the group. However, they rented the room to another teacher for the same time slot, and therefore had to move the class to the foyer of their office. The kids would sit on the floor at the entrance - not even carpeted. It is a substandard place to hold music classes for toddlers. My feeling is they are more concerned about their bottom line than providing a quality environment for music education.

My kids & I are greeted each morning with a genuine welcome and breakfast which is a relief as I'm always rushed to get to work. When I arrive to pick them up, I am personally told how they were through the day, something special they enjoyed doing , even if it was how much they loved their lunch.(Salmon rice pilaf & pancake Friday's are their favourites ! ) My toddlers face is always freshly washed & a fresh diaper change for the drive home. My older daughter is always excited to show & tell me about new Montessori activities, and seems to be learning way more than her cousins of same age. Thank you ladies for the wonderful care you provide. Can't wait for her to start kindergarten with you in Sept to give me one more year of assurance that I am leaving them in safe hands before starting Elementary.

We have been at the Lycee for years and have two kids in early/middle school. We have been so impressed with how the school has handled the recent events. Without skipping a beat our kids are now being taught online and are learning at a rapid pace. The teachers we have had are all incredible. I will say that the academic standards are extremely high and your child will be expected to work hard. Monitoring in the school playgrounds could be improved but this past year I've seen an improvement with programs brought in to aid the teachers and kids on this topic. To be pragmatic we are lucky to have so many great schools in Calgary and not all of them will be a good fit for any given child. I do know two families that have moved their kids to a different school but have returned. That's a good indication of the quality of our school.

It's part of a net of schools worldwide, which makes it easy to transfer to another lycee if you are moving overseas. Also, older kids can spend a year abroad and study the same curriculum. What made me decide was the curriculum, the class sizes, and the flip program. My children started in grades 3 and 5 and had no prior french! We took advantage of that, and so glad we didn't wait longer. Grade 5 is the last grade the intensive program is offered. We are in our third year, and I must say I couldn't be happier, the teachers are great, I love the atmosphere, for the parents as well, and my children work hard to do their best and are happy.

Parent counsel is active in organizing fun events and activities throughout the year. This is a Catholic school but are accepting of those students who are not baptized or practicing Catholic. Religion is fundamental to their education. Although our family is not practicing Catholic, learning about others makes us more accepting and tolerant of those who are different. They accept and treat all students and families equally as long as you reciprocate the respect.
