They are not forth coming when selling their tutoring model. They don't tell you that the sessions will be 3 to 1 ratio of students to tutor. For the price they charge it should at least be 2 to 1. For $90 more per session you can have 1 to 1. It's a complete snow job not being transparent. read more

We started Sylvan about 6 months ago to help my 6 yr old with reading and math. Sylvan has helped him build confidence and he is improving his fluency. The teachers are kind and patient and keep the kids motivated. Ms. Melissa goes above and beyond to communicate and ensure the kids get personalized plans. We also love the monthly check ins where we see the progress. Oh! And my son LOVES the store and asks to go twice in a day to earn tokens. Great job, everyone! We are very grateful. read more

We have our daughter attending Sylvan to help her with her reading. It's been a real struggle till we found sylvan. So happy our little girl can nOw actually open a book and read it !!!! The staff has been very helpful and great with assisting us to achieve this goal. We have tried 2 others tutoring schools and saw no results. We are beyond happy with Sylvan and outcome of having our child attend the learning center. Nice knowledgeable staff , clean classrooms and restrooms. The fact that they check every child daily to make sure they have no high temp and making sure the students are not ill is a big relief to make sure we don't catch any flus. Do not recommend. I'm in debt & realized all my child really did was journal write. Her writing is not any better & im having to do the same work we struggled with. In speaking to teachers, they don't recommend it either. Wish I would have done my research instead my child is still struggling & im left with the bill. read more

Just got the SAT scores back for my son who did the six week course at this specific Sylvan. He is a Junior and does well in school, but the PSAT and other pre-tests he had taken were not strong enough scores. We enrolled him in this 6 week course and he learned a lot! He was thrilled that he got a 1200. This was much better than all of the previous tests and this was the first time taking the real one! Thank you Sylvan! This is going to make a big difference leading into his Senior year. read more

My Daughter started Sylvan about a month ago for help with her reading and since attending she has really improved and is always eager and excited to attend her sessions. Before Sylvan her confidence was not that great academically but I see a big change already in such a short time and can't wait for her to continue to grow academically and get her reading down 100%. This office put on a STEM robotics class at my child's school. They were there every Monday for several weeks. During that timeframe my daughter was rarely able to actually complete the daily project. Since the projects went back with the instructors, this meant that there was very little actual results. Oftentimes, she would be able to create the item, but did not have a chance to program it. On the last day, they allowed the parents to come. What I saw made sense for the lack of progress. The students were given a small box which was supposed to have all the legos needed for their project. Of the 8 steps they were able to complete while I was there only one of them had the pieces required. This meant that for 30 minutes they had to stop to request the proper piece for almost every step. They did not get close to completing the "Drumming Monkey" build out, not did they get to program him. If all they are doing is creating portions of lego creations, we can easily do that at home. This class was purported to teach them some basic programming and engineering skills for the Elementary school level. Unfortunately that was clearly false. I'm very disappointed in this company. I do not recommend them at all. read more

What can I say Sylvan is a life saver. My husband and I took our daughter Jasmine, (Jazzy) here because she was struggling in school. She is in 4th grade and she hates to read. She will do anything she can to avoid it and it causes her to get bad grades because everything she does has some reading in it. Sylvan has found a way to make reading fun for her and interactive. She is starting to understand things better and is learning to comprehend what she is reading. This place is a big Scam, super expensive. I signed up my kids for reading and didn't see any improvement,even when I asked the teacher about my daughter she told me that she didn't see any kind of progress in her level .Its a WASTE of MONEY read more

Sylvan has really been incredible with my daughter. She was starting second grade with a kindergarten reading level, they have brought her up to a third grade level in 10 months. Sylvan teachers are very helpful and have assisted my daughter through some of the toughest math problems. my daughter has also been part of the SAT prep course and it improved her SAT scores.
