Beyond impressed. Sylvan has provided our daughter hope and environment is loving and super clean. Homeschooling was so hard and defeating as my husband and I both worked. She has excelled, and it has taken so much stress and pressure off of us. It is an investment, but the peace and hope it has given us and our daughter is priceless. The director is amazing, Lynn, very involved and personable. She is on it and is willing to go over and beyond to accommodate child's needs and parents concerns. I highly recommend! read more

My daughter struggled so much in school, she was three grades behind her class in reading. After six months at Sylvan not only has she caught up to her class but she made honor roll!!!! Sylvan has helped my daughter tremendously. The staff is wonderful. I highly recommend it.

This single star is reserved for the office staff, supervisor, and manager, as my child was never scheduled for services. After three weeks of multiple calls asking that I reschedule or change the schedule to dates that I had advised the staff repeatedly would not work for my family, I was finally asked to acquiesce to Sylvan's schedule or find a new facility. The amount of calls that I received bordered on harassment level, and both the supervisor and manager were rude and condescending, with the latter becoming aggressive once I stated that I would be reporting the facility to the Better Business Bureau. A multitude of excuses where hashed out by all staff members with whom I spoke, including horrendous blame being place on each other and myself. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

My son was enrolled in the Ace It tutoring program thru his school. He is a difficult child, being diagnosed with ADHD & ADD school is a huge challenge for him as is sitting still and staying focused. His tutor Tanna was Amazing! He actually for the first time in a couple years looked forward to working on school work because she was so wonderful with him! I can't speak for all the tutors but as for Tanna I would hire her for one on one personal tutoring every day of the week and recommend her as highly as one can be recommended. Wonderful place, very family friendly. Staff is very helpful and always has the answers to my families needs. As for the review below there is two sections to Sylvan, the in center staff and center director and the Ace-It staff and director who handle the outside/school tutoring, I don't know what happened but Sylvan is a wonderful place!! read more

Waste of money! 4hrs a week, 7 months and $5000 later our student tested at the same level, even though they had said he was learning at a great speed. Had to twist their arm just to get they to retest our student to gage what he hade learned. read more

please do not waste your money on this place. the lady who owns this is a no show. she will repeatedly come up with excuses to cancel your appointments and will never return your calls to reschedule. I currently have to go to the city of Modesto to report her and relieve a refund that she refuses to give me for services that were never rendered. on top of that her teaching is subpar,with her seeming to have no real tactic to teach. she basically just puts you aimlessly on a road without first teaching you how to steer,brake, or gas. I promise you this place is a shame job waiting to take your money. read more

Great place to learn, learned a lot going there. Stingy about moving moving around your appointment though. Could have used a little more support from one of the directors when I went some years ago. She defended one of the students touching me(not in an inappropriate way) it was unwanted contact. And I was set up with someone for my English lesson who had a very thick accent that I could not understand, I asked to be assigned to a different teacher and was told to suck it up and deal with it. For this place being as expensive as it is I should be able to understand my tutor you know? But all in all a great place to catch up in your learning. I went here back in 05-06 and the director I was referring to had moved onto something else so don't fret about her being there :) read more
