12/12/15 Absolutely wonderful massage by Mari Lu Villegas! I will update this with more details…read morelater today. I was so relaxed that I failed to update my review until the next day. I like the small business atmosphere and warm welcome I received when I arrived. The lighting in the room was just right. It was a rainy, overcast day, which was perfect. Mari Lu paid excellent attention to areas of concern. I asked for a very firm massage and that is exactly what I received. Her techniques seemed to be up to date and she does not give you a "canned routine" type of massage. She has the ability to work very deep so know what you are asking for or you might be surprised by the pressure. I am not a fan of an oil based massage but I have to say she managed the product well. I was somewhat oily after but not as much as I have experienced with other massages where oil was used. I like that she started the massage face up. This told me right away she had her own style. I do wish I had been given an eye cover though. The table felt like it had a nice cover but no extra pad. I prefer a padded table but that is totally just a thing I like, not a necessity. She really worked my shoulders and hips, which I needed. I loved the leg/back stretches too. She added hot stones and the temperature of the stones was perfect. I liked that she left them in the palm of my hand for a short period of time too. I get a therapeutic massage every two weeks and I used to have my own massage business, so I really tune into what a therapist is doing. This lady was very, very good and I look forward to booking a massage with her again next time I am in the area. Please note that they only take cash and checks.

Before visiting, I called to confirm whether walk-ins were accepted. I was told they were, so I…read morearrived at approximately 12:30 p.m. The employee informed me that a 30-minute massage would cost $50, plus a $3 credit card processing fee. Before the service began, she also requested that I leave a tip. We indicated we would pay a total of $60, but she repeatedly insisted on a $10 tip, bringing the total to $63. To avoid further discussion, we agreed to leave the $10 tip. Our credit card transaction shows a timestamp of 12:32 p.m. By the time I was taken to the massage room and was lying on the table, it was approximately 12:35 p.m. The therapist did not ask what type of massage I preferred or whether I had any areas of concern. She simply instructed me to lie down, covered me with a towel, and began the massage. Initially, the massage was acceptable, but she soon began using deep tissue pressure, which I did not want. I stopped her and asked that she focus only on my neck and feet. She then massaged my feet and ended the session. When she finished, it was approximately 12:55 p.m. I pointed out that the 30-minute session had not yet been completed, as only about 20 minutes had elapsed since the massage began. She stated that she was finished. After I explained that the session had started around 12:35 p.m., she offered to continue for an additional five minutes. By that point, I declined because I no longer felt comfortable continuing the service. As I was leaving, I attempted to take a photograph of a sign regarding customer complaints. The employee physically took hold of my phone and prevented me from taking the picture. My husband then requested a refund for the portion of the service that had not been provided, including the gratuity. The employee initially refunded only $5 and told us to leave. We explained that we were willing to pay for the approximately 20 minutes of massage that had been provided but expected a refund for the remaining unused portion. She then refunded another $5. We advised her that the correct refund should be about $21 based on the shortened service and charges paid. She left briefly and returned with the remaining $21, paid in one-dollar bills, and told us she did not want us to return. We responded that we would not be coming back. We were not asking for a free service. We were willing to pay for the approximately 20 minutes of massage we received. Our concern was simply that we paid for a 30-minute session but received only about 20 minutes of service. She seemed upset and refused to talk about the time we started and ended the message, by then she was rude. All I wanted was a message for my birthday and ended up more stress. Would not recommend.
